The purpose of the present study was to examine mechanisms by which the characteristics of child temperament influences academic achievement in late childhood. It was hypothesized that the effects of child temperament on achievement would be mediated by assertive behavior on the part of children and maternal parenting behavior. Data for this study came from self-report questionnaires completed by 657 elementary school children (343 boys, 314 girls). The results of structural equation modeling demonstrated that child temperament affected academic achievement through both assertive behavior and maternal parenting behavior; this was evidenced across the entire sample. Child temperament (approach-withdrawal, mood quality, persistence) also had a number of positive effects on assertive behavior (directiveness, social assertiveness, defense of rights and interests) and maternal parental behavior (warmth-acceptance, guidance). These results were found to be the case for both boys and girls. The results of this study further revealed that maternal parenting behavior mediated the relationship between child temperament and achievement for boys, whereas assertive behavior played the same role for girls. These findings suggest the need for different approaches in developing programs to improve levels of academic achievement which give due consideration to child temperament and social behavior as well as parenting, based on child gender.

This study is to investigate into the factors that influence the use of a military logistics information system in Korean army. We developed the research model based on DTPB (Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior) because the DTBP is an appropriate model in a mandatary using environment through the study of previous technology-acceptance models. A questionnaire survey was conducted with Korean army solders and civilian components who use the army logistics information system and 266 valid questionnaires are recovered. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS. The results show that perceived usefulness and ease of use did not affect the attitude of the use intention. The influence of colleagues and upper class officers was all satisfactory and computer self-efficiency affected perceived control of behavior. The results of this study will contribute to the further use of the military logistics information system and future development strategy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the experiences of interpersonal relationships of head nurses in interacting with others in general hospital settings. Methods: The data were collected by individual in-depth interviews from seven head nurses and were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Five major categories emerged and they represent a major strategy according to five different groups of interacting people. 'Establishing trust' was identified as the key strategy in dealing with patients and family members. 'Embracing with sisterly love' and 'helping with self-defense' were major strategies for subordinate nurses and physicians, respectively. 'Respecting and recognizing' was the main approach for other professionals such as dietitians and 'emphasizing rules and educating' were a major one for non-professionals. Head nurses paid more attention and made efforts in dealing with their subordinate nurses than with other groups of people, because they felt the most difficulty in their relationship with subordinate nurses. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that head nurses employ unique strategies in interacting with different groups of people to increase the efficiency of communication. This study would help nurse administrators establish an effective program for improving interpersonal relationships of head nurse.
National interest in nuclear safety continues to increase. One of the policies that the government is pursuing is to change a temporary position to a permanent position for irregular special security guards of Nuclear power plants. At this point in time, it is urgent to discuss the method of their physical fitness test because duties of special security guards such as arrest and self-defense, unarmed defensive tactics, proficiency with semiautomatic rifle, etc, demands a lot of physical fitness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the physical fitness tests of police, firefighters and soldiers in Korea, US and Japan through literature review. After that, a new fitness test method suitable for special security guards of nuclear power plants was derived through expert meetings. This study also suggested a guideline to analyze the fitness test results so that the developed fitness method can be introduced to the field. For this purpose, physical fitness tests were conducted on 74 subjects. Based on the results of the experiment, the expected records of special security guard fitness tests were presented.
There have been various discussions to prevent violence to 119 emergency medical technicians, and the aims of the were as follow ; first, the staff dispatched to the scene should be reinforced so that the patients committing violent acts can be subdued. Secondly, self-defense devices should be provided to 119 emergency medical technicians so that they can use them in a dangerous situation and escape from it. And finally, 119 emergency medical technicians should be allowed to refuse to transport the patients when they or their guardians do violence to them in order to prevent potential violent cases. When countermeasures after violence is committed, it is important to secure evidence and determine strongly to bring charges to the offenders rather than agree to overlook the violence in order to correct them right. It is necessary to introduce a support program to help the victim technicians concentrate on their physical and mental treatment. Violence to 119 EMT should be punished so that the society will think it is natural to punish such offenders. In a safer environment, 119 EMT can perform their duties and it is very important to draw this consensus.
This study is searched in the on actual condition and analysis about the fire fighting measure of 123 main wooden cultural properties designated by the Cultural Heritage Administration. Generally, a PLM education program in university consists of lectures of theory, software lab and software development raining as an advanced subject. Most industries want more than these, such as practical problem solving capabilities, teamwork skills and engineering communications including human relationship, rhetoric, technical writing, presentation and etc. Problem-Based Learning is a problem-stimulated and student-centered teaming method, and an innovative education strategy for collaborative and self-directed learning by applying real world problems. Education paradigm changes from "teaching" to "learning" accomplished by team working, and students are encouraged to develop, present, explain and defense their ideas, suggestions or solutions of a problem, and the "cooperative teaming" proceeds spontaneously during team operations. Co-operative education program is an into-grated academic model and a structured educational program combining classroom learning with productive work experience in a field related to a student's academic or career goals. Based on the partnership between academic institutions and industries, students are engaged in real and productive "work" in the industry, in contrast with merely observing. In this paper, PBL with Co-op program is suggested as an effective approach for PLM education, and we made and operated a PBL-based education course with industry co-op program. The Co-op education in industry accompanied with the PBL course in university can improve practical problem solving capabilities of students, including modeling and management of P3R(Product, Process, resource and Plant) using commercial PLM software tools. By the result, we found this to be an effective strategy for helping students, professors and industries succeed in engineering education, especially PLM area.

Background: The beneficial effects of ginsenoside species have been well demonstrated in a number of studies. However, the function of ginsenoside Ro (GRo), an oleanane-type saponin, has not been sufficiently investigated. Thus, the aim of the present study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of GRo in vitro using the Raw 264.7 mouse macrophage cell line treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), and to clarify the possible mechanism of GRo involving heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), which itself plays a critical role in self-defense in the presence of inflammatory stress. Methods: Raw 264.7 cells were pretreated with GRo (up to $200{\mu}M$) for 1 h before treatment with 1 mg/mL LPS, and both cell viability and inflammatory markers involving HO-1 were evaluated. Results: GRo significantly increased cell viability in a dose dependent manner following treatment with LPS, and decreased levels of reactive oxygen species and nitric oxide. GRo decreased inflammatory cytokines such as nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 induced by LPS. Moreover, GRo increased the expression of HO-1 in a dose dependent manner. Cotreatment of GRo with tin protoporphyrin IX, a selective inhibitor of HO-1, not only inhibited upregulation of HO-1 induced by GRo, but also reversed the anti-inflammatory effect of GRo in LPS treated Raw 264.7 cells. Conclusion: GRo induces anti-inflammatory effects following treatment with LPS via upregulation of HO-1.

This study is based on literature review intended to understand how Taekwondo demonstrations have been made from the emancipation until the 1960's in the perspective of open demonstrations. The findings of this study are summed up as follows. First, Taekwondo demonstrations were influenced significantly by social situations like the emancipation and emergence of gigan studios, dispatching ROK armed forces to the Vietnam War, or the foundation of International Taekwondo Federation(ITF). Second, in terms of forms, Taekwondo demonstrations were made as a form of demonstrating martial arts that had been improved in each of the studios when there was an examination for promotion, the studio needed publicity, or they wanted to show how individuals' skills had been cultivated. In terms of contents, with basic skills of Taekwondo as the ground, they dealt with forceful hand/foot breaking, simple jumping up and breaking, sparring, and practical self-defense martial arts, and so on.

Recently, Recently, many quality problems in military supplies are raised such as K-series weapons(K-2 tank, K-9 Self-propelled artillery and K-11 Armoured Car and etc.) quality issues, leaking combat shoe issue and so on. Existing one and only national quality assurance agency for military supplies, Defense Agency for Technology and Quality(DTaQ) adapted risk management based framework to perform the government quality assurance activities. However, risk framework established by DTaQ seems lack of objectivity, consistency and efficiency. In this research, we first reviewed the DTaQ's regulations to identify the possible problems, and then suggested the alternatives which are based on advanced risk management framework and plan-do-check-action(PDCA) cycle. In conclusion, we suggested the new risk management framework, so called visual PDCA fishbone chart, and illustrated the use of the framework via real instance.
