Reliability Evaluation of COTS Integrated Circuits for Military and Space Applications (우주, 군 응용을 위한 상업용 집적회로부품의 신뢰성 평가)

  • Commercial Off the Shelf(COTS) Integrated circuits(ICs) are being increasingly considered for use in space and military applications. Therefore, There is a need to implement standard tests and requirements to ensure reliability of COTS ICs. This paper presents an overview of the ICs screen procedure and methods under the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) and Tests Method Standard Microcircuits (MIL-STD-883). We describes the COTS ICs screen test guidelines that are mainly focused after encapsulating. In addition, COTS linear bipolar IC is investigated to evaluate the reliability requirements. The experiment results showed that COTS IC is satisfied with high reliability requirements.

  • As the size of chip components and module decreases, new patteming method for fine line and geometry is needed. So far, in LTCC(Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) process, screen printing method has been used generally. But screen printing method has some disadvantages as follows. First, the geometry including line, vias, etc. smaller than $100{\mu}m$ can't be evaluated easily. Second, the patterned dimension is different from designed value, which makes distortion in charactersitics of not only chip components but also modules. Thick film lithography has advantages of thick film screen printing process, low cost and thin film process, fine line feasibility. Using this method, the line with $30{\mu}m$ width and the geometry with expected dimension can be evaluated. In this study, the fine line with $35{\mu}m$ line/space is formed and the embedded capacitor with very small tolerance is developed using thick film lithography.

Origin of the Korean Screen Planisphere with both Old and New Star-charts

  • The origin of the Korean Screen Planisphere with both Traditional and New Star-Charts, made by Korean Astronomers in the Royal Astronomical Bureau of the Joseon Dynasty by adopting the knowledge of the European astronomy, is investigated by analyzing its inscriptions and star charts. The considerations on both the changes in notations or representations of names of asterisms and the naming taboos used in the Old-style planisphere imply that the star-chart is originated from either the Sukjong-Stele-Replica of Cheonsang-Yeolcha-Punyajido(天象列次分野之圖). The New style planisphere is just the reproduction of Huangdao-congxingtu (黃道總星圖), with the exception of the non-Chinese-traditional stars. The Huangdao-congxingtu was made in 1723 CE by Ignatius K$\ddot{o}$gler who was a Jesuit missionary and worked for the Bureau of Astronomy (欽天監) in the Qing Dyansty. I find that the star chart was imported in 1742 CE from the Qing by An Gukrin (安國麟) who was an astronomer in the Royal Astronomical Bureau of Joseon. The chart became model for the screen star-chart made in 1743 CE and now housed in Bopju temple. I found that the inscriptions are extracted from the sentences in both Xinzhi Lingtai Yixiangzhi (新製靈臺儀象志) and Qinding Yixiangkaocheng (欽定儀象考成). Korean historical records in either Daily Records of the Royal Secretariat of the Joseon Dynasty (承政院日記) or Annals of the Joseonn Dynasty (朝鮮王朝實錄) show that Xinzhi Lingtai-Yixiangzhi was imported from the Qing Dynasty in 1708 CE, and the Qinding Yixiangkaocheng was imported in 1766 CE. Thus, the Korean Screen Planisphere with both Old and New Star-charts was certainly made after 1766 CE.

A Case Study on Digital Interactive Training Content <Tamagotchi> and <Peridot>

  • Having pet is one of the activities people living in modern society do to relieve stress and find peace of mind. Currently, the object of companion animals has moved beyond being a real 'living entity' and has developed to a stage where the animal's upbringing process can be enjoyed in a virtual space by being programmed in digital content. This paper studies detailed elements such as character design, interaction, and realism of 'Tamagotchi (1996)', which can be said to be the beginning of digital training content, and 'Peridot (2023)', a recently introduced augmented reality-based training content. The point was that it was training content using portable electronic devices. However, while the environment in the electronic device in which Tamagotchi's character exists was a simple black and white screen, the environment in which Peridot's character operates has been changed to the real world projected on the screen based on augmented reality. Mutual communication with characters in Tamagotchi remained a response to pressing buttons, but in Peridot, it has advanced to the point where you can pet the characters by touching the smartphone screen. In addition, through object and step recognition, it was confirmed that the sense of reality had become more realistic, with toys thrown by users on the screen bouncing off real objects. We hope that this research material will serve as a useful reference for the development of digital training content to be developed in the near future.

  • The initial urban railway was only required to perform its role as means of transportation. As the time of staying in an underground platform was extended, it has been faced with the issues of environmental improvement as a living space. Therefore, the sliding automatic door, which is the basis of the screen door, is used widely for large distribution stores, hospitals, restaurants, and public offices for customers' convenience and as a convenient method to control access. Therefore, screen doors are required for the purpose of customers' convenience, securing safety, establishing pleasant station buildings, and energy savings. It would be also necessary to develop the optimal design technology for a screen door system through the design of element parts and to ensure reliability. Therefore, this paper calculated, interpreted, and verified the theoretical weight of the composition parts to verify the design drive hardness of the motor for screen doors necessary for the safety of subways.

  • In the beginning run, urban railway had been required as transportation. But now days urban railway have stayed in the platform for long time, the platform is faced the problem that is improvement of environment as one of the living space. Thus, sliding automatic door on the basis of screen door have used in huge distribution market, hospital, restaurant and public office because it is comfortable that customer's convenience and entrance are controled. So screen door not only requires customer's convenience and safe, clean area and energy conservation but demands optimal design technology development of screen door system that is confirmed by element parts of design and confidence. In this paper, For secure confidence of screen door, after as modeling roller and frame's system, confirming the result for qualification of driving stiffness. And then it suggests that it is possible to increase performance and declines fraction defective of element's part.

  • In this study, the optimum criteria of space between the lines and the letters which could largely affect the legibility were found by the experiment and were presented as guidelines to design Korean VDT screens. Since the experiment was designed to test the human performance based on the VDT screen design, searching speed (S.S) and error rate (E) were used as the criteria of performance, and CFF value was measured to evaluate user's visual fatigue. The EOG value was also measured for the visual restriction during the experiment for the space between the lines and letters.

  • We study lightlike hypersurfaces of a semi-Riemannian space form $\tilde{M}(c)$ admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. First, we construct a type of lightlike hypersurfaces according to the form of the structure vector field of $\tilde{M}(c)$, which is called a ascreen lightlike hypersurface. Next, we prove a characterization theorem for such an ascreen lightlike hypersurface endow with a totally geodesic screen distribution.

  • We study the geometry of lightlike submanifolds of a semi-Riemannian manifold. The purpose of this paper is to prove two singular theorems for irrotational lightlike submanifolds M of a semi-Riemannian space form $\bar{M}(c)$ admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection such that the structure vector field of $\bar{M}(c)$ is tangent to M.

  • In this paper, we prove two characterization theorems for real half lightlike submanifold (M,g,S(TM)) of an indefinite Kaehler manifold $\bar{M}$ or an indefinite complex space form $\bar{M}$(c) subject to the conditions : (a) M is totally umbilical in $\bar{M}$, or (b) its screen distribution S(TM) is totally umbilical in M.
