  • The multi-wall carbon nano-tube composite mixed with carbon paste electrode presented more sensitive and selective amperometric signals in the oxidation of glucose than general screen-printed carbon electrodes(SPCEs). Redox mediators to transport electrodes from enzyme to electrodes are very important part in the biosensor. A novel osmium redox complex was synthesized by the coordinating pyridine group containing primary amines which were electrochemically immobilized onto the MWCNT-SPCEs surface. Electrochemical studies of osmium complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry. The surface coverage of osmium complexes on the modified carbon nano-tube electrodes were significantly increased at 100 time (${\tau}_0=2.0\;{\times}\;10^{-9}\;mole/cm^2$) compared to that of the unmodified carbon electrodes. It's practical application of the glucose biosensor demonstrated that it shows good linear response to the glucose concentration in the range of 0-10 mM.

  • Redox complexes to transport electrodes from biomaterial to electrodes are very important part in commercial biosensor industry. A novel osmium redox complex was synthesized by the coordinating pyridine group with osmium metal. A novel osmium complex is described as $[Os(dme-bpy)_2(ap-im)Cl]^{+/2+}$. We have been studied the electrochemical characteristics of this osmium complex with electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperommetry. In order to immobilize osmium redox complexes on the electrode, we deposited gold nano-particles on screen printed carbon electrode(SPE). The electrical signal converts the osmium redox films into an electrocatalyst for glucose oxidation. The catalytic currents were monitored that the catalytic currents were linearly increased from 1 mM to 5 mM concentrations of glucose.

  • In this study, a thin and flexible planar supercapacitor (PSC) was fabricated by coating polyaniline (PANI) on a screen-printed carbon electrode. Carbon ink was coated onto the flexible polyethylene terephthalate using a screen-printing method; subsequently, a thin film of PANI was coated onto the carbon surface using a dilute polymerization method. A thin flexible PANI electrode in an interdigitated structure was assembled with a polymer gel electrolyte that resulted in planar-shaped supercapacitor (PSC) devices. The as-obtained PANI/PSC was very thin and flexible, exhibiting a high areal capacitance of 409 µF/cm was obtained at a rate of 10 mV/s. This capacitance retains 46% of its original value at 500 mV/s. The flexible PANI/PSC exhibited an excellent capacitance retention of 82% even under bent states of 180° and 100 repetitive bent cycles.

  • Top of the alumina body which is made according to plan has been printed using a screen printer equipment in order to print an electrode pattern. The electrode is connected with the quartz crystal oscillator of the piezoelectricity method which has a piezoelectric characteristic. The pressure contact department has been experimented using three type of the teflon. The teflon is good for pressure delivery vector but it is bad restitution. So we devised the structure which inserts the metal in the teflon. Bottom of the module is connected with the signal processing department which is planned in advance and then has investigated to characteristic. Therefore we have got the best output-voltage and frequency characteristic follows in the pressure.

  • A new disposable amperometric tri-enzyme biosensor for the detection of paracetamol has been developed. The paracetamol sensors developed uses horseradish peroxidase modified screen-printed carbon electrodes (HRP-SPCEs) coupled with immobilized enzymes, tyrosinase and aryl acylamidase, prepared using a poly (vinyl alcohol) bearing styrylpyridinium groups (PVA-SbQ) matrix. Optimization of the experimental parameters has been performed and the paracetamol biosensor showed detection limit for paracetamol is as low as $100{\mu}M$ and the sensitivity of the sensor is $1.46nA{\mu}M^{-1}cm^{-2}$.

  • Screen printing is commonly used to form the electrode for crystalline silicon solar cells. However, it has caused high resistance and low aspect ratio, resulting in decrease of conversion efficiency. Accordingly, Ni/Cu/Ag plating method could be applied for crystalline silicon solar cells to reduce contact resistance. For Ni/Cu/Ag plating, laser ablation process is required to remove anti-reflection layers prior to the plating process, but laser ablation results in surface damage and then decrease of open-circuit voltage and cell efficiency. Another issue with plating process is ghost plating. Ghost plating occurred in the non-metallized region, resulting from pin-hole in anti-reflection layer. In this paper, we investigated the effect of Ni/Cu/Ag plating on the electrical properties, compared to screen printing method. In addition, phosphoric acid layer was spin-coated prior to laser ablation to minimize emitter damage by the laser. Phosphorous elements in phosphoric acid generated selective emitter throughout emitter layer during laser process. Then, KOH treatment was applied to remove surface damage by laser. At this step, amorphous silicon formed by laser ablation was recrystallized during firing process and remaining of amorphous silicon was removed by KOH treatment. As a result, electrical properties as Jsc, FF and efficiency were improved, but Voc was lower than screen printed solar cells because Voc was decreased due to surface damage by laser process. Accordingly, we expect that efficiency of solar cells could be improved by optimization of the process to remove surface damage.

  • A disposable, electro-chemiluminescent immunosensor utilizing a screen-printed carbon electrode and liposome coupled to antibody as tracer has been constructed. In proportion to the analyte (Legionella species as a model) concentration, the analyte-immunoliposome complexes were transferred by the capillary action through a membrane strip to the electrode, the liposomes were lysed in the presence of detergent, and ruthenium was released for signal generation. Such performance of the immunosensor was appropriate for a point-of-care testing.

  • In this study, ZnCo2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized via the coprecipitation method using different annealing temperatures from 200℃ to 800℃. By varying the treatment temperature, the morphology changed from amorphous to tetragonal, and finally to polygonal particles. As temperature increased, the sizes of the nanoparticles also changed from 5 nm at 200℃ to approximately 500 nm at 800℃. The fabricated material was used to modify the working electrode of a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPE), which was subsequently used to survey the detection performance of the antibiotic, chloramphenicol (CAP). The electrochemical results revealed that the material exhibits a good response to CAP. Further, the sample that annealed at 600℃ displayed the best performance, with a linear range of 1-300 μM, and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.15 μM. The sensor modified with ZnCo2O4 also exhibited the potential for utilitarian application when the recovery in a real sample was above 97%.

  • In order to improve the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC), $TiO_2$ electrode screen-printed on transparent conducting oxide (TCO) substrate was sintered in variation with different temperature(350 to $550^{\circ}C$). $TiO_2$ electrode on fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) glass was assembled with Pt counter electrode on FTO glass. I-V properties of DSC were measured under solar simulator. Also, effect of sintering temperature on surface morphology of $TiO_2$ films was investigated to understand correlation between its surface morphology and sintering temperature. Such surface morphology was observed by atomic force microscopy (AFM). From the measurement results, at sintering temperature of $500^{\circ}C$, both efficiency and fill factor of DSC were mutually complementary, enhancing highest fill factor and efficiency. Consequently, it was considered that optimum sintering temperature of $\alpha$-terpinol included $TiO_2$ paste is at $500^{\circ}C$.

  • A new nano-composite carbon ink for the development of disposable dopamine (DA) biosensors based on screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) is introduced. The method developed uses SPCEs coupled with a tyrosinase modified nano-composite carbon ink. The ink was prepared by an “in-house” procedure with reduced graphene oxide (rGO), Pt nanoparticles (PtNP), and carbon materials such as carbon black and graphite. The rGO-PtNP carbon composite ink was used to print the working electrodes of the SPCEs and the reference counter electrodes were printed by using a commercial Ag/AgCl ink. After the construction of nano-composite SPCEs, tyrosinase was immobilized onto the working electrodes by using a biocompatible matrix, chitosan. The composite of nano-materials was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and the performance characteristics of the sensors were evaluated by using voltammetric and amperometric techniques. The cyclic voltammetry results indicated that the sensors prepared with the rGO-PtNP-carbon composite ink revealed a significant improvement in electro-catalytic activity to DA compared with the results obtained from bare or only PtNP embedded carbon inks. Optimum experimental parameters such as pH and operating potential were evaluated and calibration curves for dopamine were constructed with the results obtained from a series of amperometric detections at −0.1 V vs. Ag/AgCl. The limit of detection was found to be 14 nM in a linear range of 10 nM to 100 µM of DA, and the sensor’s sensitivity was calculated to be 0.4 µAµM−1cm−2.
