Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to examine the value relevance of the relative sizes of the contractual service margin (hereafter CSM) and the risk adjustment for non-financial risk (hereafter RA). Additionally, the paper examines how the relative size of the CSM impacts the relative value relevance of net assets and net income. Design/methodology/approach - This study conducted an empirical analysis utilizing the quarterly financial data and stock price information of domestically listed insures (including life and non-life insurers) from 2023 onwards. Specifically, regression analysis and parallelism tests were employed in the research. Findings - Firstly, the empirical analysis of the value relevance of CSM and RA showed that CSM has a significant positive value relevance with firm value, while RA has a significant negative value relevance with firm value. Secondly, it was found that as the CSM increases, the value relevance of net income increases, whereas the value relevance of net assets decreases. Research implications or Originality - Despite both CSM and RA being components of insurance contract liabilities, their differing impacts on firm value suggest that the capital market has a relatively clear understanding of the characteristics of CSM and RA. The finding that the value relevance of reported current earnings increases with larger CSM indicates that CSM-focused management is desirable from the perspective of enhancing firm value.
A Study of the Emotionality of Child and Mother The purpose of this study is primarily to understand the emotional climate of child and mother, which is a significant factor in child study and the home life. A sample was collected from a total of 1,592 of whom 796 are elementary school children with their mothers. Of these 796 children 440 are fom private schools, 190 from public schools in Seoul. The rest are taken from a farming area, 100 kilometers from Seoul. The data was basically obtained through answers to a questionaire distributed in September 1973. In this study, the cross-sectional method, percentage calculation and chi-square test are adapted from factor analysis. With this limited amount of data special attention now, the following conclusions can be drawn from this analysis although special attention should be given in making any kind of generalization about the entire population. 1) Children's emotionality (a) There is a higher percentage of emotionally well-adjusted children as opposed to maladjusted children.(51%>11%) (b) There is no correlation between children's emotionality and the following factors: grade, sex, residential area, school records, and educational level of their mothers. 2) Mother's Emotionality (a) There are more mothers who consider themselves happy than unhappy.(49%>2%) On the other hand a higher percentage of mothers reported feelings of tension and insecurity as compared to those who had feelings of firm security(65%>5%) (b) There is a high correlationshionship between marital adjustment and marital happiness. In other words, the more adjusted, the happier. A high marital happiness has strong influence on the preference of sex, on children's adjustment to their friends, and their present living condition. (c) There is a close relationship between a high marital adjustment and the social development of a child: being fond of fathers, homelife, and the acquaintance with many friends. In the same way, the positive emotionality of a mother in raising her children and their school records are also important. 3) Emotional relationship between a mother and her chid There is a close bond of love and respect between a mother and her child. Moreover, a high frequence of close and open-minded communication exist between them in a family. It is evident that the emotional climate of the mother has a strong and powerful influence on her child.
The purpose of this study is investigate what effects of counseling program using children's poem on maladapted children in school on the children's self-esteem and school adjustment. For this, counseling programs using children's poem was developed and this counseling sessions were implemented to maladapted children in school and the research question to analyze the effect is as follows. First, what effect does the counseling program using children's poem have on the improvement of self-esteem of the maladapted children in school? Secondly, what effect does the counseling program using children's poem have on the school life of the maladapted children in school? The research target were maladapted children in school who are enrolled in the 4th grade in Elementary school. Through two different case studies, these students were selected after reflecting the opinions of the students' current homeroom teacher, parents, and friends. The counseling program using children's poem were conducted from June 2010 to July 2010, twice a week for a total number of 12 sessions. Each session consisted of 40 minutes and client's change process was explored. Through the counseling program using children's poem, this study collected data and examined the effectiveness of the program through comparing the results of the evaluated results of the language and behavior the target children responded, depth interviews with parents, friends, and teachers, behavior observation checklist, and the pre and post test results of the measurement tools. The results of this study is as follows. First, the counseling program using children's poem improved the self-esteem of the maladjusted child in school. Especially, among the sub-region of self-esteem, it was able to improve the domestic, social and academic self-esteem. Secondly, the counseling program using children's poem had a positive effect on the school adjustment of the maladjusted child in school. Among the sub-region of school adjustment, it had a positive change in the teacher relationships, peer relationships, and attitude. In addition, children's poem which was the reading material for the counseling program using children's poem was proven to work effectively in the counseling progress. Recitation and content of the children's poem promoted self-open of the client and as a result, it had a positive effect on improving relations with the counselor and this became the media that led to a successful counseling session. Therefore, I anticipate that this counseling program using children's poem will be actively used in counseling sessions through applying the results of this study and after revising the program so the counseling program could have a more efficient effect on self-esteem and school adjustment.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of self-esteem, relationships with parents and peer relationships on adolescents' school adjustment. Total of 900 middle school students residing in Guri, Geonggi-Do participated in the survey and the data collected from 874 students (557 male and 317 female students) were analyzed for this study. The followings summarize results of the study. First, the findings suggested that there is no significant difference between female and male students in school adjustment. Secondly, the study revealed that there is no difference between female and male students in self-esteem and relationship with parents. Thirdly, this study provided clear evidence that students with high self-esteem and close relationship with parents and schoolmates adapt to school life better than those with low self-esteem and distant relationship with parents and schoolmates. Fourthly, students with high self-esteem and close relationship with parents and schoolmates displayed higher adaptability to school life, and as for male students, close relationship with schoolmates was the most prominent factor which helps them adapt to school life better while female students' adaptability to school lifewas mainly affected by relationship with parents.
Objectives Non-major depression with fewer symptoms than required for a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-4th edition diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD) has consistently been found to be associated with functional impairment. In this study, we aim to estimate the cognitive impairment and the quality of life in elderly patients with subsyndromal depression (SSD) compared with non-depressive elderly (NDE). Methods The Korean version of Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview was administered to 194 outpatients with depression and 108 normal controls. SSD is defined as having five or more current depressive symptoms with core depressive symptoms (depressive mood or loss of interest or pleasure) during more than half a day and more than seven days over two weeks. Depression was evaluated by the Korean form of Geriatric Depression Scale of a 15-item short version. Global cognition was assessed by Mini-Mental State Examination in the Korean version of CERAD assessment packet (MMSE-KC). Subjective cognitive impairment was assessed by the Subjective Memory Complaint Questionnaire. Quality of life was evaluated by the Korean Version of Short-Form 36-Item Health Survey. Results The mean score of the MMSE-KC in the SSD group was lower than that in the NDE group with adjustment for age, gender, and education [F = 4.270, p = 0.04, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA)]. If we defined those having Z-score of MMSE-KC < -1.5 as a high risk group of cognitive impairment, the odds ratio for the high risk group of cognitive impairment was 1.86 [95% confidence intervals (CI) 1.04-3.34] in SSD and 7.57 (95% CI 3.50-16.40) in MDD compared to NDE. The scores of physical component summary (F = 9.274, p = 0.003, ANCOVA) and mental component summary (F = 53.166, p < 0.001, ANCOVA) in the SSD group were lower than those in the NDE group with adjustment for age, gender, and education. Conclusions The subjects with SSD, as well as those with MDD, showed impairment of global cognition and also experienced low quality of life in both physical and mental aspects, compared to the NDE group.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the association between physical activity and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in Koreans. Methods: A total of 9,689 adults(${\geq}19$ years, 4,036 men) from the Fourth National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2007-2008) were examined by the International Physical Activity Questionnaraire (IPAQ)-short form and Korean EuroQol-5 Dimension(KEQ-5D). Results: For the physical activity by IPAQ, 'Inactive group' was 75.3%, 'Minimally active group' was 23.5%, and 'Health-Enhancing Physical Activity(HEPA) group' was 1.2%. The mean HRQOL index was $0.89{\pm}0.13$. These relations of physical activity and HRQOL remained significant after adjustment for age, sex, smoking, subjective health status, stress, depression, and socioeconomic status variables (Adjusted $R^2$ = 0.334). Conclusions: Physical activity was associated with health-related quality of life. Physically active group had higher health-related quality of life than the inactive group.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the housing behavior through the code's housing history. The data were collected by open descriptive answering of 28 students in Y.University. The major findings are as follows: The characteristics of code's housing history were changed by stages of family life. The greastes changes are in the stage of elementary school(3rd stage). Before the 3rd stage, living in out of town, detached house, rental house is to superior than town(Dae Gu). Apt.. own house. And housing adaptation is to superior than housing adjustment. Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship among university students' basic psychological needs, smartphone addiction and degree of adaptation to their university life, as well as to investigate the factors affecting their adaptation to university life. Methods: This study was conducted from May through July in 2017 for 235 university freshmen. Data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The study showed that the group living in the dormitory or other places rather than living with family and satisfying in family life [ED highlight - please clarify this, I cannot infer your intended meaning; however, this text can likely be deleted.] adapted easily to university life. Moreover, adaptation to university life was negatively correlated with smartphone addiction, but positively correlated with basic psychological needs. Consequently, these results confirmed that residence type, satisfaction with family life, smartphone addiction and basic psychological needs were the factors having the greatest influence on university life. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to lead students to participate in programs that can meet basic psychological needs or prevent smartphone addiction to help university freshmen adapt to university life.

Objectives: The purpose is to prepare measures to effectively improve college life adaptation by identifying relevance between interpersonal relation disposition and college life adaptation, college life stress and college life adaptation for dental hygiene students. Methods: 375 dental hygiene students attending some local universities in Gyeonggi-do were sampled for convenience. The results of this study are as follows. Results: First, As a result of interpersonal relation disposition according to general characteristics, superiority-dominance tendencies were higher in first and third graders, in groups with grades above 4.0 and groups with lower subjective economic levels. And the stress of college life was high for second graders and students with lower grades than 2.0. Second, According to the correlation between factors, governance-dominance, independence-responsibility, sympathy-acceptance, sociable-friendliness, and ostentation-intoxication of interpersonal tendency factors had proportional relationship with college life adaptation, rebellion-distrust and college life stress had inverse relationship. Third, The results of multiple regression analyses to identify factors that affect college students' adaptation to college life were in the order of stress in college life, first grade, sociable-friendliness, second grade, rebellion-distrust. Conclusion: In order to improve college life adaptation, counseling and practical mediation programs should be developed and applied to effectively manage and control the negativity and positivity implied by interpersonal relationships and college life stress.
Purpose: The study aimed to identity specific needs for services and programs to help childhood cancer survivors adjust and adapt to life after treatment. Methods: In-depth interviews were conducted with 31 childhood cancer survivors, diagnosed with cancer before the age of 18 and currently between 15 and 39 years of age. Each survivor had completed his/her cancer treatment. Results: The participating cancer survivors reported needs for services related to psychological counseling, schooling and learning, social skills, mentorship, integrated health management, self support activities, families of survivors, and public recognition and awareness. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate a need to better understand childhood cancer survivors, provides a basis for developing various services and programs to improve the quality of life among childhood cancer patients, survivors, and their families, and supports the importance of psychosocial adjustment.
