  • In this study, the effect of blast furnace slag on precast concrete culvert was assessed by measuring the flexural strength using to full scaled box culvert. As a result, the initial cracking load and yield load of reinforced concrete box converts are increased in comparison with those of the normal concrete box culvert, but the ultimate load is decreased slightly. It can be concluded that use of blast furnace slag induce to flexural strength in precast concrete box culvert greatly improved the serviceability.

  • Wind tunnel tests are performed so as to investigate the aerodynamic drag characteristics of HEMU-400x, next generation Korean high speed train. The experiments of 1/20 scaled 5-car train model are done at 30, 40, 50, 60m/s with a normal bogie, a bogie cover, and a streamlined shape. The flat plate with knife edge are installed to minimize the effect of boundary layer of wind tunnel for the train model. The aerodynamic drag reduction was more by a streamlined shape than by a bogie cover from a normal bogie. Based on the experimental results, the aerodynamic drag of HEMU-400x test train(6-car) was predicted. It is prediceted that More bogie cover could reduce more aerodynamic drag of the test train in replacement of normal bogies.

  • Equipments to influence by external force have to take effect mechanical oscillation. These equipments regardless of the movement on the external force such as roll, pitch and heave etc, worked to keep the height of tote are required for activeness and needed a device as equipment's fluctuation for rapidly compensation. Because the actual development of these devices is difficult to cost-effectively, we were developed to compensation simulator scaled down 1/50. In this paper, we were studying kinematic characteristics, designed the simulator to grasp the point and manufactured. This paper was analyzed for confirming the superiority of compensation simulator and set up 50 ton crane in practice.

  • Lightning current distribution in a building directly hit was studied by using a scaled steel frame structure model. As the test current source, impulse current with the rise time of 10 ${\mu}s$ and sinusoidal current with the frequency of 30 kHz were used to confirm the validity of test results. The current distributions at both horizontal and vertical pillars were measured by using CT. From the test results, the reduction effect for the conductive EMI was verified and a design method reducing the conductive EMI was proposed.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the flow characteristics of polluted air behavior in rectangular tunnels using a PIV system and a commercial CFD program. The PIV experiments are simulated by using the olive oil as the tracer particles in scaled rectangular tunnels. Each model has one of four different outlet vents, each dimensionless L/H ratio of which is 0, 0.375, 0.75 and 1.125, respectively as the locations of each outlet are away from the vertical centerline through the inlet. A commercial CFD program, ANSYS CFX, was used to examine the velocity fields and the pressure distributions in numerical simulations. The kinematic viscosity of the air flow of $1.51{\times}10^{-5}m^2/s$ and the flow velocity of 0.3 m/s at the inlet are given under the same conditions in order to analyze the polluted air flow characteristics experimentally and computationally. This study is considered to examine the effect of the outlet locations in the naturally ventilated tunnel models.

  • Whereas the potential of static inelastic analysis methods is recognised in earthquake design and assessment, especially in contrast with elastic analysis under scaled forces, they have inherent shortcomings. In this paper, critical issues in the application of inelastic static (pushover) analysis are discussed and their effect on the obtained results appraised. Areas of possible developments that would render the method more applicable to the prediction of dynamic response are explored. New developments towards a fully adaptive pushover method accounting for spread of inelasticity, geometric nonlinearity, full multi-modal, spectral amplification and period elongation, within a framework of fibre modelling of materials, are discussed and preliminary results are given. These developments lead to static analysis results that are closer than ever to inelastic time-history analysis. It is concluded that there is great scope for improvements of this simple and powerful technique that would increase confidence in its employment as the primary tool for seismic analysis in practice.

  • The channel length influence of n-channel Si-based FETs is investigated by computer simulation. Using a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model, devices having various gate length are examined. We have observed the characteristics of LDD model of MOSFET by investigating of their current, voltage, electric field and impact ionization. These devices are scaled using various factors. We have analyzed I-V characteristics and the effect of impact ionization according to channel length.

  • Suitable replacement materials for ultrathin SiO2 in deeply scaled MOSFETs such as lattice polarizable films, which have much higherpermittivities than SiO2, have bandgaps of only 3.0 to 4.0 eV. Due to these small bandgaps, the reliability of these films as a gate insulator is a serious concern. Ramped voltage, time dependent dielectric breakdown, and hot carrier effect measurements were done on 190 layers of TiO2 which were deposited through the metal-organic chemical vapor deposition of titanium tetrakis-isopropoxide (TTIP). Measurements of the high and low frequency capacitance indicate that virtually no interface state are created during constant current injection stress. The increase in leakage upon electrical stress suggests that uncharged, near-interface states may be created in the TiO2 film near the SiO2 interfacial layer that allow a tunneling current component at low bias.

  • A new on-wafer de-embedding method using thru, short and open patterns sequentially is proposed to eliminate the errors of conventional methods. This "thru-short-open" method is based on the removal of the coupling admittance between input and output interconnect dangling legs. The increase of the de-embedding effect of the lossy coupling capacitance on the cutoff frequency in MOSFETs is observed as the gate length is scaled down to 45 nm. This method will be very useful for accurate RF measurements of nano-scale MOSFETs.

  • Recently, the scale and form of the construction promoting in government and private organization have large scaled town. The underground area of whole town are used for every facilities, and most of concrete area are used for greening part for friendly environment construction. This greening part for concrete area have good point such as being amendment and various economical effect and improvement for environmental problem, moreover, the amount of greening part become great increased. For this factor, we have to newly consider to keep durable safety for concrete structure, therefore, we suggest that how to keep structural safety of greening area on the concrete.
