  • The purpose of this study was to perform a comparative analysis of the research trends in STEAM education in gifted education and suggest educational implications to improve the current STEAM education for the gifted. The results were as follows. First, STEAM education has been increasing in the past couple of years and gifted and talented education took up relatively high proportion of it. This demonstrates that gifted education closely related to creative and versatile individuals plays a leading role in STEAM education. Second, researches on STEAM education and STEAM education for the gifted targeted elementary school students the most. Third, researches on the development of STEAM program for the gifted have been mainly addressing science-oriented convergence programs. Among them, programs including all the five combined factors(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) were the most common. In terms of learning types, a criterion-referenced teaching-learning model has been developing and there were diverse learning types which applied teaching-learning models tailored to characteristics of a gifted child. The researches related to STEAM programs'application effects on creativity were most dominant.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of logical thinking when applying STEAM program for middle school students. Therefore, you're creative, framework governing the conditions and be present, creative design of the emotional experience of class under the procedures of the program from a program by previous studies. STEAM improve program is entirely logical thinking to determine that 47 2nd grade in middle school student radio sampling four weeks, six round of poetry classes. Awareness stage after the program STEAM improved but there was little change in logical thinking and appears to be effective, particularly in conservation, combined logic.(p<0.05)

  • For this study, we reviewed theoretical background of STEAM education and domestic and international case studies in STEAM education. By doing so, we developed and applied the STEAM Education Program through the use of Scratch. This program is designed for the 3rd and 4th lesson of 6th graders' science in elementary school. As a result, the creativity index and positive attitude about science of the students who went through the researched program increased with meaningful difference compared to that of the sample population. The result of this study shows that the STEAM Education Program, using Scratch, can improve creativity. And it is sure that it brings positive changes for the science-related affective domains.

  • As growing more and more interested in programming education, we need to concerned how to teach programming in school. We are presented the STEAM program based on scratch programming as a way of programming education for elementary students. We were developed STEAM program that do digital storytelling using scratch about selected science topic in order to raise interests about science and educate programming. In order to verify the effectiveness of the educational program, we analyzed the results of pre- and post-test about GALT, TTCT of experimental group and comparison group is comprised of 6th grade elementary students. In the analysis results, the education program we developed affected positive impacts on creativity, logical thinking of elementary school students.

  • For this study, we searched recent trend of STEAM education and developed 'STEAM education program by producing UCC'. We developed and applied this program which is designed for 'wise of life' of 2nd graders in elementary school for the real class. As a result, the creativity index of the students who went through the researched program increased with meaningful difference compared to that of sample population. And positive response increased in both of interest and attitude among affective region related to science. The result of this study shows that 'STEAM education program by producing UC' can bring positive change for the expansion of creativities and scientific attitude.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the educational significance of STEAM in school mathematics education by developing a STEAM program that learns mathematical and scientific principles based on patterns and analyzing the effects of developed program. For this purpose, we conducted an experimental class based on the STEAM program developed. STEAM attitude and satisfaction were tested for 120 elementary school students. The results of this study are as follows. First, in terms of STEAM attitude, STEAM-based experimental instruction did not differ significantly in the second grade students. However, there were positive effects in the other five grades. Second, in terms of satisfaction, the proportion of students who were 'generally' was 89%. the proportion of students who were 'not generally' was 3%. Study subject students were found to be generally satisfied with the STEAM-based instruction.

  • The purposes of this study were to development and verify the effect of educational program apply on STEAM for the mathematical prodigy. To accomplish these purposes literature review on development of the program and qualitative study were conducted. The mixed-model design was applied for this qualitative experimental study. The conclusions of this study were as follows. First, the program for mathematical prodigy education applied on the conceptual model of STEAM integration approach was developed. Second, a learning satisfaction about constitution of the workbook was lowly. Third, principal of STEAM was the best interest and difficult of the program applied on STEAM. Fourth, the creativity and problem solving ability was founded about angle and velocity of mathematical domain and making the Angrybirds Game on GeoGebra environment. In spite of difficulty about principal of the Angrybirds Game, confidence and satisfaction were founded about a result product.

  • The purpose of this study were to develop a M-STEAM program for first grades in elementary school and investigate the effects of the program on their learning motivation for the math subject and creative personality. For those purpose, this study set the following research questions. Research Question 1 : How will a M-STEAM program be devised applicable to first grades in elementary school? Research Question 2 : What kind of effect does a M-STEAM program have on the learning motivation and creative personality of students? The findings were as follows: First, lesson contents were reorganized by keeping the Unit 3 in the second semester of first grade in the current math curriculum under the convergence theme of "Build an environment friendly future city" to which the STEAM elements were added. Developed program promoted mathematical thinking ability for problem solving in the process of operating the number of blocks. Through the M-STEAM program, convergence thinking was created from a new perspective by exerting creativity in such process. Second, the STEAM program had effects on the learning motivation and creative personality of first graders in math subject. The t-test results show that the STEAM program developed in this study increased the fun and interest of students, helped with their concentration, and promoted their understanding of mathematical concepts. Therefore the M-STEAM program had positive impacts on the learning motivation and creative personality of first graders in math learning.
