  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the construal level and temporal distance of a message and consumer's Social Network Service (SNS) self-efficacy on consumers' attitudes toward SNS fashion advertising. This study employed a 2 (message configuration: high construal level/low construal level) ${\times}$ 2 (temporal distance: distant future/near future) ${\times}$ 2 (SNS self-efficacy: high/low) between-subject factorial design. The survey was conducted on Facebook users in their twenties (N=216). The results are as follows: First, attitude toward SNS fashion advertising and purchase intention was higher when the message construal level was lower and when the temporal distance was closer. Second, no interactions between temporal distance and message construal level for attitude toward SNS advertising and purchase intention were found in this study. However, interactions between temporal distance and SNS self-efficacy for attitude toward SNS advertising and purchase intention were found. When the SNS self-efficacy was high, message with the low construal level reacted significantly positive in terms of attitude toward the ad as well as purchase intention. It is expected that this study will provide insight for apparel makers or retailers to use SNS as a new advertising media for fashion marketing. Practical implications and limitations are discussed.

  • This study examined whether and how personal traits such as SNS self-efficacy, comparison orientation, fear of missing out are associated with SNS addiction proneness. An online survey of 232 Chinese students in Korea showed that the personal traits are positively associated with sub-dimensions of SNS addiction proneness. Fear of missing out is found to be positively associated with all three sub-dimensions of SNS addiction proneness. On the other hand, SNS self-efficacy and comparison orientation is positively related to some of the sub-dimensions.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the predictive power of the effect of pre-early childhood teachers' self-efficacy and ego resiliency on the SNS addiction tendency. To this end, a self - administered survey was conducted for 117 students in the first, second, and third grades of junior college of junior college in metropolitan area and multiple regression analysis was performed based on the collected data. The research findings showed that self-efficacy and ego resiliency had a negative effect on SNS addiction tendency. This suggests that self-efficacy and ego resiliency are statistically significant variables in predicting pre-early childhood teachers' SNS addiction tendency. These results also suggest that specific measures for enhancing self-efficacy and ego resiliency should be considered as precautionary measures to prevent SNS addiction of pre-early childhood teachers.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of smartphone use to enhance self-efficacy and decrease loneliness in elders through communication using the SNS Program Methods: Participants in this study were assigned to the experimental group (25) or control group (25). Data were collected from June 3 to July 12, 2019. For this study, the communication Program through SNS was run once for a total of 12 sessions. All data were analyzed using SPSS version 18.0 program, 𝑥2 test, t-test, Repeated Measure ANOVA and Fisher's exact test. Results: It was found that H1 was supported (z=-4.12, p=.005) as "the experimental group participating in the communication Program through SNS had greater self-efficacy than the control group". H2 was supported as "the experimental group participating in the communication Program through SNS had less loneliness than the control group", (z=3.20, p<.001). Conclusion: This basic information may be used as an intervention on communication Program through SNS. Findings suggest the necessity of improving self-efficacy and reduction of loneliness through an intervention communication Program through SNS.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to grasp the factors influencing domestic SNS users' privacy protection behavior and verify their relationship through self-efficacy and responsiveness. Thus, this study tries to suggest efficient and effective measures for SNS personal information protection. Design/methodology/approach To this end, with main variables of the protection motivation theory based on the assumption that when users are exposed to the threat to their health, they would have protection motivation and change their behavior of protecting their health, a research model was suggested. In addition, in order to empirically verify the research model, a survey was performed targeting general college students having the experience of using SNS. Findings As a result of the analysis, first, perceived effectiveness and self-efficacy had a positive effect on responsiveness. Second, perceived barrier had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Third, self-efficacy and responsiveness had a positive effect on privacy protection behavior. This study is expected to contribute to establishing an effective guideline for measures that could induce SNS users' privacy protection behavior.

  • This study was examined the influence of self-efficacy and attachment on SNS addiction tendency in college students. For this purpose 303 college students in Daegu completed the related survey. Data were collected from September 30 to October 20, 2013. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. The major findings were as follow; 1) There were negative relationships among SNS addiction tendency and self-efficacy. 2) There were positive relationships among SNS addiction tendency and adult attachment. These results indicate that it is necessary to design intervention programs to increase self-efficacy and attachment stability in order to decrease college students' SNS addiction tendency.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationships among self-efficacy, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived playfulness, and reuse intention of SNS. The results of data analysis by structured equation model(SEM) indicate that self-efficacy significantly influences individual's perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness. Both perceived playfulness and perceived ease of use affects perceived usefulness on SNS. Individual's self-efficacy, perceived playfulness and perceived usefulness affect reuse intention of SNS. Based on the results, the theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • SNS is one of the fastest service entering in mature stage. But now there are not any empirical analysis the effect of SNS from user point of view. In this paper, we investigate the effect of self presentation on SNS to interpersonal relation and intention to use. we set online presentation self-efficacy and involvement as two antecedent factors. And we suggest that the purposes of using SNS be Image improvement and knowledge contribution. The change of interpersonal relation in offline is set a result of using SNS and a mediating variable between online self-presentation and intention to use. In the results, firstly, we confirmed that the online presentation self-efficacy and involvement are predisposing factors for online self-presentation on SNS in the positive direction. Secondly, the using SNS has significantly positive effect on the change of interpersonal relation. Especially, the improvement of interpersonal relation is originated from image improvement and knowledge contribution. • This study is a empirical study to investigate the mediating effect of self-efficacy and social support in the relationship between SNS use time and acculturation stress for Chinese students. A survey was conducted from April 1 to 12, 2022 on 239 Chinese students from universities across the country using Wenjuanxing questionnaires. Descriptive statistics analysis and Baron and Kenny hierarchical regression analysis were performed on the collected data using SPSS 26.0, and bootstrapping was performed to verify the mediating effect. As a result of the study, SNS use time had a significant effect on the self-efficacy and social support. The acculturation stress was significantly influenced by SNS use time, self-efficacy, and social support. SNS use time had a significant effect on acculturation stress, and self-efficacy and social support had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between SNS use time and acculturation stress. Therefore, based on the above research, SNS can be used to develop the projects for International students to enhance their cultural adaptative ability and thus alleviate the acculturation stress. This study can serve as the foundational and supplementary materials for the follow-up study of SNS and acculturation stress.
