On Semisimple Representations of the Framed g-loop Quiver

  • Let Q be the frame g-loop quiver, i.e. a generalized ADHM quiver obtained by replacing the two loops into g loops. The vector space M of representations of Q admits an involution ${\ast}$ if orthogonal and symplectic structures on the representation spaces are endowed. We prove equivalence between semisimplicity of representations of the ${\ast}-invariant$ subspace N of M and the orbit-closedness with respect to the natural adjoint action on N. We also explain this equivalence in terms of King's stability [8] and orthogonal decomposition of representations.

  • Consider a strong Markov process $X^0$ that has continuous sample paths in the closed cone $\bar{G}$ in $R^d(d \geq 3)$ such that the process behaves like a ordinary Brownian motion in the interior of the cone, reflects instantaneously from the boundary of the cone and is absorbed at the vertex of the cone. It is shown that $X^0(t)$ has a representation $R(t) \ominus (t)$ where $R(t) \in [0, \infty)$ and $\ominus(t) \in S^{d-1}$, the surface of the unit ball.

  • The set of priors in the representation of coherent risk measure is expressed in terms of quantile function and increasing concave function. We show that the set of prior, $\mathcal{Q}_c$ in (1.2) is equal to the set of $\mathcal{Q}_m$ in (1.6), as maximal representing set $\mathcal{Q}_{max}$ defined in (1.7).

  • In this paper we study the non-degenerate n-connected canonical domains with n>1 related to the conjecture of S. Bell in [4]. They are connected to the algebraic property of the Bergman kernel and the Szego kernel. We characterize the non-degenerate doubly connected canonical domains.

  • A new representation for the Dirac equation, which may be appropriate to describe the interaction of the charged particle with the electric field, is derived by introducing a gauge-independent unitary transformation. It is shown that in this representation the effective Hamiltonian without potentials has a new feature in the non-relativistic limit.

  • Thomas Harriot has been introduced in middle school textbooks as a great mathematician who created the sign of inequality. This study is about Harriot's symbolism and the theory of equation. Harriot made symbols of mathematical concepts and operations and used the algebraic visual representation which were combinations of symbols. He also stated solving equations in numbers, canonical, and by reduction. His epoch-making inventions of algebraic equation using notation of operation and letters are similar to recent mathematical representation. This study which reveals Harriot's contribution to general and structural approach of mathematical solution shows many developments of algebra in 16th and 17th centuries from Viete to Harriot and from Harriot to Descartes.

  • To construct GIS successfully, mapping technology, primary S/W technology, and DB tool technology are necessarily required. Among them, the mapping technology is the most important one in constructing a GIS spatial database that needs much time and effort. In this paper, we designed and implemented a systematic and effective vectoring tool. The general vectoring process was analyzed and parted into an automated part and a remaining part for increasing overall efficiency. We also proposed a multi -level representation method for vector data and applied it to the developed vect1lring tool. We could verify usefulness of the proposed representation method.

  • The M&S community needs an environmental data representation and interchange mechanism which not only satisfies the requirements of today's systems, but can be extended to meet future data sharing needs. This mechanism must allow for the standard representation of, and access to data. It must support databases containing integrated terrain, ocean, atmosphere, and space data. The SEDRIS provides environment data users and producers with a clearly defined interchange specification. In this paper I present the method to extract the data attributes contained in synthetic environment domain using SEDRIS technology and API.

Provincializing Orientalism in A Tale of Two Cities

  • This article explores the ways Charles Dickens's roles as novelist and journal editor overlapped and influenced one another in the serial publication of A Tale of Two Cities (1859) and complicates recent historicist readings, which situate the novel in relation to the Indian Mutiny (1857-59), by calling attention to a double imperial logic used to construct British subjectivity not only against forms of Eastern Otherness but, moreover, against forms of Southern Otherness associated with the European South, especially Italy. Analyzing Dickens's historical representation of the French Revolution in relation to its contemporary international political context, this essay examines how the novel's serial publication draws upon political discourse from contemporary articles on the Second Italian War of Independence (1859-61) appearing concurrently in Dickens's journal, All the Year Round. Orientalism circulates simultaneously in the novel as a distant and exotic as well as a provincial and parochial representation of racial and cultural Otherness.

  • A hereditary base-b representation, used in the celebrated Goodstein's theorem, can easily be converted into a labeled rooted tree. In this way it is possible to give a more elementary geometric proof of the aforementioned theorem and to establish a more general version, geometrically proved. This view is very useful for better understanding the underlying logical problems and the need to use transfinite induction in the proof. Similar problems will then be considered, such as the so-called "hydra game".
