The effect of domain understanding on IT outsourcing performance based on a learning model of IT outsourcing (IT아웃소싱 환경에서 도메인이해도가 성과에 미치는 영향: 조직학습, 지식이전 및 아웃소싱비율의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Owing to the current economic downturn, one of the most important goals of the organizations who are actively involved in Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) is the cost efficiency. We focus on supplier firm's domain understanding to make the cost efficiency; therefore, we examine how the disadvantages from lower domain knowledges affect outsourcing performance moderated by outsourcing ratio and knowledge change environments. That is, if clients can endure disadvantage from service providers' lower domain knowledge, they can achieve cost efficiency by choosing lower domain knowledge suppliers with less expensive cost. To examine performance gap depending on the environments, we applied 'A Learning Model of IT Outsourcing' which is suggested by previous literature. As a result, we suggest five strategies for clients to contract with suppliers which have lower domain knowledge: (1) Prepare the strategy to endure disadvantages from the early stage. (2) Make the strategy depending on outsourcing ratio. (3) Knowledge transfer between organizations is important. (4) Make a short-term contract if they do not have good environments for organizational learning. (5) Client's knowledge change environments are more important than those of supplier's. Finally, we offer various implications for clients and suppliers in IT outsourcing.

  • The access to web applications has continuously evolved toward the adoption of content centric interfaces. Services and information items are much of user's concern than web sites. For an efficient accommodation of increasing needs of content oriented operations, the scope of domain names is extended in two directions. A naming scheme is derived that is suitable for resource level access units and the semantics of domain names is conceived as very flexible functions. First extension regards the removal of unnecessary TLD's of domain names for resource level binding. Second extension makes the resource level domain names rich in functional binding and consequently various applications can be directly triggered by the invocation of domain names without intervening medium. These extensions may lay a certain direction for the future internet evolution.

  • Let R be an integral domain with identity. In this paper we will show that if R is integrally closed or if t-dim $R{\leq}1$, then R[{$X_{\alpha}$}] satisfies the principal ideal theorem for each family {$X_{\alpha}$} of algebraically independent indeterminates if and only if R is an S-domain and it satisfies the principal ideal theorem.

  • By evaluating the containment measure of one domain to contain another, we will derive some new Bonnesen-type inequalities (Theorem 2) via the method of integral geometry. We obtain Ren's sufficient condition for one domain to contain another domain (Theorem 4). We also obtain some new geometric inequalities. Finally we give a simplified proof of the Bottema's result.

  • Toll-like receptors (TLR) are important components of innate immunity in the defense against pathogens. TLRs recognize pathogen-associated common molecular patterns. TLRs are similar to the receptors involved in defense responses in plants. TLR protein is a type 1 membrane protein, consisting of an extracellular domain containing leucine-rich repeats and a cytoplasmic domain. The cytoplasmic domain delivers ligand recognition signals that result in production of anti-microbial agents. The cytoplasmic domain (amino acid 858-1032) of toll-like receptor 9 has been expressed using methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris. The protein expression was confirmed by Western-blot, N-terminal sequencing and MALDl-TOF mass spectrometry. The proteins have been purified by nickel affinity, cation exchange and gel-filtration chromatography.

A Study of the Goals on Science Pedagogy (과학교육학목표에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to establish the goals of Science Pedagogy as a subject curriculum. This study is served as the criterion for syllabus of teacher's university which instruct the preservice science teachers. To perform this study, by a premise of Science Pedagogy, the domains and the categories of science eduactional goals ware pursued by review of literature. In this study, the sources to establish science educational goals are national educational ideology, nature of science, interests and cognitive levels of children, and social demands. According to these sources, the domains of science educational goals are as follows; 1.cognitive domain 2.inquiry process domain 3.manual skills domain 4.creativiry domain 5.science attitude domain 6.S-T-S domain These six domains are essential to school science educational achievement. Therefore, these domains are surely reflected in the course of science preservice teacher's training. On the base of these domains of science educational goals, 1 general goal and 10 specific objectives of Science Pedagogy are proposed.

  • Polyurethane(PU)은 물리적 화학적 성질이 매우 다른 두 segment(hard/soft)로 이루어진 block copolymer로서 상온에서 미세상분리된 구조를 가진다. 이런 미세 상분리 구조는 PU의 물리적 성질을 결정하는 가장 중요한 요소이며, hard segment(H/S)의 화학적 구조에 따른 PU사슬의 강직성은 H/S의 packing및 상분리도에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 H/S의 화학적 구조를 변화시켜 사슬의 강직성이 서로 다른 다양한 PU을 합성하였으며 Synchrotron SAXS와 FTIR-dichioism을 이용하여 PU 사슬의 강직성에 따른 거시적인 domain의 변형거동과 미시적인 사슬의 변형거동을 관찰 하였다. Domain Adaptation for Opinion Classification: A Self-Training Approach

  • Domain transfer is a widely recognized problem for machine learning algorithms because models built upon one data domain generally do not perform well in another data domain. This is especially a challenge for tasks such as opinion classification, which often has to deal with insufficient quantities of labeled data. This study investigates the feasibility of self-training in dealing with the domain transfer problem in opinion classification via leveraging labeled data in non-target data domain(s) and unlabeled data in the target-domain. Specifically, self-training is evaluated for effectiveness in sparse data situations and feasibility for domain adaptation in opinion classification. Three types of Web content are tested: edited news articles, semi-structured movie reviews, and the informal and unstructured content of the blogosphere. Findings of this study suggest that, when there are limited labeled data, self-training is a promising approach for opinion classification, although the contributions vary across data domains. Significant improvement was demonstrated for the most challenging data domain-the blogosphere-when a domain transfer-based self-training strategy was implemented.

  • This study aims at analyzing educational effects of the horticultural picture books, which are depending on B.S. Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives. After collecting various horticulture-related picture books, this study classified them by the B.S bloom's educational taxonomy. There were objectives of the cognitive domain, objectives of the affective domain, psychomotor domain in plants and gardening activities. And the cognitive domain, affective domain, psychomotor domain subdivided into the sub-region can learn from the horticulture picture books to teach the unique characteristics could be found. To know the teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of using picture books in the horticulture class, questionnaire were analyzed from the survey. As a result, by Bloom's educational taxonomy area they preferred children's books. Teacher think that fairy tale books promote the interest of the children and have the advantage of fostering creativity. In addition, an easy point to get in school, lack of hours in the effective education to help horticulture that was expected. The cognitions of most effective storytelling method of horticulture picture book was story immersion. And the effective activity after reading picture book was drawing picture. Also, the most effective teaching materials was a real-life picture.
