  • This paper describes a design of a single phase PWM converter for high speed train. Parallel operation and control method of four Quadrant PWM converters are described. Simulation and modelling of the converters is performed. Capacity of the converter/inverter and power circuit for high speed traction system designed. And harmonic contents of AC line current's are analyzed. The results of the simulation are presented.

  • The capacitive coupling technique has been used as conventional method for PD detection on the power cable line. Recently, however PD measurement using by high frequency is known to have an excellent sensitivity comparison with low frequency on-site. In this paper, the high frequency characteristic of two type of metal foil sensor was studied and the technique was proved to be more effective diagnostic method than conventional method for qualification of EHV cable and accessories.

  • The protection of underground cables against transient overvoltages resulting from lightning and other causes is important in cable-tine which is connected with overhead line and underground cable. This paper investigates the failure of CCPU(Cable covering Protection Unit) and presents improved configuration method of CCPU in underground cable system EMTP(Electromagnetic Transient Program) is used in order to study the overvoltages and modeling of components of the system such as overhead lines, underground cables, CCPUs and towers in presented.

  • Conventionally, air-cored Rogowski coil was designed for use as high alternating and transient current sensor without saturation caused by ferromagnetic material in its core. This paper investigated that Rogowski coil can be applied to low current measurement in 60Hz power line. Measured parameters R, L of coil were compared with theoretically calculated values. Output voltages crossed by Rogowski coil have shown some linearity according to input current(tens to thousands of amperes) passing through it. And also shielding effect for external noises was investigated for three cases.

  • The authors propose a robust symbol timing recovery (STR) for telephone line modems supporting data rates up to 32 Mbps. The STR is initialized by a start signal from carrier sensor, and the novel method is proposed which resolves the difference between the frequency of the transmitter's clock and the receiver's clock, called baud frequency offset. The proposed method is applied on digital receiver in a 16 frequency diverse quadrature amplitude modulation (FDQAM) system.

  • In this paper, we used the $BaTiO_3$ system ceramics with high temperature stability for high voltage devision, and rosen type-piezoelectric transformer for high voltage measurement. when Line-high voltage is 13,20O[V], Input voltage of piezoelectric transformer type-actuator is about 390CV1, and output voltage of it is 26.5FVI on the no-load. And also, temperature stability from >$-25^{\circ}C$ to >$50^{\circ}C$ is less than ${\pm}4.45%$

  • This paper presents the design of DC protection Relay for Light Rail Transit system, which is very beginning product in domestic. Protection Function characteristic, principle and I/O interface including interlock signal has been introduced. The protection algorithm and EMC characteristics have been certified by official organization and Type test report has been introduced. Up to date in domestic, the test procedure for DC Protection relay hasn't been established so the new method and test equipment based on IEC regulations are proposed. Finally the product will be proved based on field test.

  • 오늘날 대부분의 기기들은 사용하지 않는 상태에서 단지 플러그만 꼽혀 있어도 전력을 소모하는데 이를 대기전력(standby power)라고 한다. 오디오와 비디오 제품의 경우 리모콘이나 시간예약 기능이 추가되어 전력을 소모하지만 대기전력절감을 위한 EPA, GEEA, AGO, IEA 및 국내의 KEMCO의 노력으로 off-line기기의 대기전력은 기술적으로 충분히 감소시킬 수 있는 단계에 이르렀다. 지능형 home networking 또는 smart home이 차세대 성장 동력으로 추진되는 등 정보가전기기의 Network화에 의한 대기전력은 점차 증가할 전망이다. 본 논문에서는 Networked기기의 대기전력절감의 최근 동향에 대해서 기술하였다.

  • In this paper, aging diagnosis method of CV cable was investigated. CV cable was designed for the sake of using during 30 years. Therefore it was important to evaluate the cable's remaining life because CV cable used for power transmission line since 1970's. CV cable was mainly installed at the underground owing to the environmental condition. If the cable accident occurred, it needs the much time for the accident recovery and the much damage at the industrial activity. therefore, this paper should study the direct leakage current method, a sort of the cables'aging test method.

  • KODAS is made up of the Central Control System(CCS) as four Vax workstations linked up with LAN networks, six Substation Communication Control Units(SCCU) installed in substation to transfer data, 125 Feeder Remote Units(FRU) located at the lower position of automated switch to provide the information of Fault Indicator(FI) and three kinds of automated switches to have remote control functions such as SF6 gas feeder automation switch, recloser and gas insulated pad mountes switchgear for under ground line. This paper explains the functions and characteristics in detail about each devices mentioned above.
