아연-이온 전기화학 커패시터의 에너지 저장 성능향상을 위한 다공성 전극 제조 (Fabrication of Porous Electrodes for Zinc-Ion Supercapacitors with Improved Energy Storage Performance)

  • Zn-ion supercapacitors (ZICs) show high energy densities with long cycling life for use in electronic devices. Porous Zn electrodes as anodes for ZICs are fabricated by chemical etching process using optimized conditions. The structures, morphologies, chemical bonding states, porous structure, and electrochemical behavior are examined. The optimized porous Zn electrode shows a root mean square of roughness of 173 nm and high surface area of $153{\mu}m^2$. As a result, ZIC using the optimized porous Zn electrode presents excellent electrochemical performance with high specific capacitance of $399F\;g^{-1}$ at current density of $0.5A\;g^{-1}$, high-rate performance ($79F\;g^{-1}$ at a current density of $10.0A\;g^{-1}$), and outstanding cycling stability (99 % after 1,500 cycles). The development of energy storage performance using synergistic effects of high roughness and high surface area is due to increased electroactive sites by surface functionalization of Zn electrode. Thus, our strategy will lead to a rational design and contribute to next-generation supercapacitors in the near future.

Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Thin Film Fabrication as Encapsulation using TMA and Adipoyl Chloride

  • We fabricate organic-inorganic hybrid thin film for the purpose of encapsulation by molecular layer deposition (MLD) using Trimethylaluminium (TMA) and Adipoyl Chloride (AC). Ellipsometry was employed to verify self limiting reaction of ALD. Linear relationship between number of cycle and thickness was obtained. We found that desirable organic thin film fabrication is possible by MLD surface reaction in nanoscale. Purging was carried out after dosing of each precursor to form monolayer in each sequence. We also confirmed roughness of the organic thin film by atomic force microscopy. We deposit TMA and AC at $70^{\circ}C$ and that 1.78A root mean square was obtained which indicates that uniform organic thin film was formed. We confirmed precursor's functional group by IR spectrum. We calculated WVTR of organic-inorganic hybrid super-lattice epitaxial layer using Ca test. WVTR indicates superlattice film can be possibly use as encapsulation in flexible devices.

On-axis 스퍼터링과 FTS 공정으로 증착한 ZTO 박막트랜지스터의 특성 (Characterization of ZTO Thin Films Transistor Deposited by On-axis Sputtering and Facing Target Sputtering(FTS))

  • We have investigated the properties of thin film transistors(TFT) fabricated using zinc tin oxide(ZTO) thin films deposited via on-axis sputtering and FTS methods. ZTO thin films deposited by FTS showed lower root-mean-square(RMS) roughness and more uniformity than those deposited via on-axis sputtering. We observed enhanced electrical properties of ZTO TFT deposited via FTS. The ZTO films were deposited at room temperature via on-axis sputtering and FTS. The as-deposited ZTO films were annealed at $400^{\circ}C$. The TFT using the ZTO films deposited via FTS process exhibited a high mobility of $12.91cm^2/V.s$, a low swing of 0.80 V/decade, $V_{th}$ of 5.78 V, and a high $I_{on/off}$ ratio of $2.52{\times}10^6$.

Transparent Conducting Zinc-Indium Oxides Thin Films by an Electron Beam Evaporation Method

  • ZnO-In$_2$O$_3$ films were fabricated on Corning 1737 glass substrate by an electron beam evaporation technique and their characteristics were investigated. The composition of ZnO-In$_2$O$_3$ films had a marked effect on the electrical properties of the films. The ZnO-In$_2$O$_3$ films showed superior transparent-conducting characteristics with increase of Zn content. The resistivity and carrier concentration of the film having Zn content of 45 at% are 4.45${\times}$10$^{-3}$ cm and 3.1${\times}$10$^{19}$ cm$^{-3}$ , respectively. Also, the transmittance was higher than 80% throughout the visible range. The average roughness of the film was 14.6 $\AA$ in terms of root mean square.

  • We fabricated textured Ag substrates for coated conductor and evaluated the effects of annealing temperature on microstructural evolution, texture formation, and surface morphology. A strong {110}〈110〉 textured Ag substrate was obtained by cold rolling and annealing at 80$0^{\circ}C$: the full-width at half-maximum(FWHM) value of {110}〈110〉 poles was as sharp as 10$^{\circ}$. Surface morphology was evaluated by using Atomic force microscopy(AFM). Root-mean-square(RMS) roughness of the substrate annealed at 80$0^{\circ}C$ was 39.2 nm. The substrate of strong texture and smooth surface, fabricated in our study, is considered to be suitable for use as a substrate for deposition of superconductor films.

Computer simulation for dynamic wheel loads of heavy vehicles

  • The characteristics of dynamic wheel loads of heavy vehicles running on bridge and rigid surface are investigated by using three-dimensional analytical model. The simulated dynamic wheel loads of vehicles are compared with the experimental results carried out by Road-Vehicles Research Institute of Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) to verify the validity of the analytical model. Also another comparison of the analytical result with the experimental one for Umeda Entrance Bridge of Hanshin Expressway in Osaka, Japan, is presented in this study. The agreement between the analytical and experimental results is satisfactory and encouraging the use of the analytical model in practice. Parametric study shows that the dynamic increment factor (DIF) of the bridge and RMS values of dynamic wheel loads are fluctuated according to vehicle speeds and vehicle types as well as roadway roughness conditions. Moreover, there exist strong dominant frequency resemblance between bounce motion of vehicle and bridge response as well as those relations between RMS values of dynamic wheel loads and dynamic increment factor (DIF) of bridges.

아르곤 가스만을 이용하여 PES 기판 상에 성장시킨 플렉시블 유기발광소자용 비정질 IZO 애노드 박막의 특성 (Characteristics of Amorphous IZO Anode Films Grown on Passivated PES Substrates in Oxygen Free Ambient for Flexible OLEDs)

  • Electrical, optical, and structural properties of indium zinc oxide (IZO) anode films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering were investigated as functions of RF power and working pressure in pure Ar ambient. To investigate electrical, optical and structural properties of IZO anode films, 4-point probe and UV/VIS spectrometry, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were performed, respectively. A sheet resistance of $15.2{\Omega}/{\square}$, average transmittance above 80 % in visible range, expecially above 85 % in 550 nm, and root mean square roughness of 1.13 nm were obtained from optimized IZO anode films grown in oxygen free ambient. All samples show amorphous structure regardless of RF power and working pressure due to low substrate temperature. In addition, XPS depth profile obtained from IZO/PES exhibits that there is no obvious evidence of interfacial reaction between IZO and PES substrate. Furthermore, current-voltage-luminance of the flexible phosphorescent flexible OLEDs fabricated on IZO anode shows dependence on sheet resistance of the IZO anode. These results indicate that the IZO anode is a promising candidate to substitute conventional ITO anode for high-quality flexible displays.

졸-겔 공정에 의해 제조된 ITO (Indium-Tin-Oxide) 박막의 표면처리 (Surface Treatment of ITO (Indium-Tin-Oxide) thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Process)

  • ITO (Indium-tin oxide) thin films have been prepared by a sol-gel spinning coating method and fired and annealed in the temperature range of $450-600^{\circ}C$. The XRD patterns of the films indicated the main peak of (222) plane and showed higher crystallinity with increasing an annealing temperature. The surface of the ITO thin films were treated with 0.1 N HCl 20% solution at room temperature. The effects of surface treatment on electrical properties and surface morphologies of the ITO films were investigated with the results of sheet resistance and FE-SEM, AFM images. The samples, subsequently treated with acidic solution for 40 sec showed the sheet resistance of $0.982\;k{\Omega}/square$. The surface treatment using acidic solution diminished the RMS (root mean square) value and the residual carbon content of the ITO films. It seemed that the acid-cleaning of the ITO thin films lead to the decrease of surface roughness and sheet resistance.

전자-빔 조사를 이용한 TiN 박막의 물성변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Properties of TiN Films by Using Electron Beam Irradiation)

  • Titanium nitride (TiN) films were deposited on the polycarbonate substrate by using radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering without intentional substrate heating. After deposition, the films were bombarded with intense electron beam for 20 minutes. The intense electron irradiation impacts on the crystalline, hardness and surface roughness of the TiN films. The films irradiated with an electron beam of 300 eV show the small grains on the surface, while as deposited TiN films did not showany grains on the surface. Also the surface harness evaluated with micro indenter was increased up to 18 Gpa at electron energy of 900 eV after electron beam irradiation. In addition, surface root mean square (RMS) roughness of the films irradiated with intense electron beam affected strongly. The films irradiated by electron beam with 900 eV have the lowest roughness of 1.2 nm in this study.

거친 바다표면의 마이크로파 반사 계산을 위한 이론적 모델 정확도 검증 (Accuracy Verification of Theoretical Models for Estimating Microwave Reflection from Rough Sea Surfaces)

  • 본 논문에서는 거친 바다표면의 마이크로파 반사를 계산할 수 있는 이론적 모델의 정확도를 검증한다. 우선 Pierson-Moskowitz 해양 스펙트럼을 이용하여 거친 바다표면을 생성하였다. 생성된 바다표면의 유의파고와 유효높이(root-mean square height)값을 추정하여 풍속에 따른 유의파고, 유효높이 관계식을 유도하였고, 다른 측정 데이터들과 비교하였다. 수치해석적 방법을 이용하여 다양한 거칠기 조건(풍속)에서 생성된 바다표면의 반사계수를 계산하였고, 기존에 반사계수를 계산하기 위해 사용하는 이론적 모델인 Ament 모델, PO(Physical Optics) 모델, GO(Geometrical Optics) 모델, B-M(Brown-Miller) 모델과 비교하였다. 비교적 거칠기가 매우 낮은 경우($kh_{rms}$<0.4, k는 파수, $h_{rms}$는 RMS 높이) 외에는 Ament 모델은 정확하지 않았다. 또한 거칠기가 크지 않은 바다($kh_{rms}$<10)에서는 PO, GO, B-M 모델들의 정확도가 보장되지만, 풍속이 높아 거칠기가 높은 바다($kh_{rms}$>10)에서는 입사각이 $70^{\circ}$ 이하에서는 PO 모델과 GO 모델이 수치해석결과와 비교적 잘 일치하였으며, $80^{\circ}$ 이상에서는 B-M 모델이 수치해석 결과와 비교적 잘 일치함을 보였다.
