A Study on The Adaptive Robust Servocontroller (견실한 서보적응제어기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents Adaptive Robust Servocontrol(ARSC) scheme, which is an explicit(or indirect) pole-assignment adaptive algorithm with the property of "robustness". It guarantees asymptotic regulation and tracking in the presence of finite parameter perturbations of the unknown plant(or process) model. The controller structure is obtained by transforming a robust control theory into an adaptive control version. This controller structure is combined with the model estimation algorithm which includes a dead-zone for bounded noise. It is proved theoretically that this combination of control and identification is globally convergent and stable. It is also shown, through a real-time simulation study, that the desired closed-loop poles of the augmented system can be assigned directly, and that the adjustment mechanism of the scheme tunes the controller parameters according to the assigned closed-loop poles.oop poles.

Improved version of LeMoS hybrid model for ambiguous grid densities

  • Application of the LeMoS hybrid (LH) URANS/LES method for the wake parameters prediction is considered. The wake fraction coefficient is calculated for inland ship model M1926 under shallow water conditions and compared to results of PIV measurements. It was shown that due to lack of the resolved turbulence at the interface between LES and RANS zones the artificial grid induced separations can occur. In order to overcome this drawback, a shielding function is introduced into LH model. The new version of the model is compared to the original one, RANS $k-{\omega}$ SST and SST-IDDES models. It is demonstrated that the proposed modification is robust and capable of wake prediction with satisfactory accuracy.

A New Robust Digital Sliding Mode Control with Disturbance Observer for Uncertain Discrete Time Systems

  • In this paper, a new discrete variable structure controller based on a new sliding surface and discrete version of the disturbance observer is suggested for the control of uncertain linear systems. The reaching phase is completely removed by introducing a new proposed sliding surface. The discrete version of the disturbance observer is derived for the effective compensation of the effect of uncertainties and disturbances. A corresponding control input with the disturbance compensation is selected to guarantee the quasi sliding mode on the predetermined sliding surface for guaranteeing the designed output in the sliding surface from any initial condition to the origin for all the parameter variations and disturbances. By using Lyapunov function, the closed loop stability and the existence condition of the quasi sliding mode is proved. Finally, an illustrative example is presented to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.

  • In this paper, a new discrete static output feedback variable structure controller based on a new dynamic-type sliding surface and output feedback discrete version of the disturbance observer is suggested for the control of uncertain linear systems.   • Numerous software vulnerabilities have been found in the popular operating systems. And recently, robust linear behaviors in software vulnerability discovery process have been noticeably observed among the many popular systems having multi-versions released. Software users need to estimate how much their software systems are risk enough so that they need to take an action before it is too late. Security vulnerabilities are discovered throughout the life of a software system by both the developers, and normal end-users. So far there have been several vulnerability discovery models are proposed to describe the vulnerability discovery pattern for determining readiness for patch release, optimal resource allocations or evaluating the risk of vulnerability exploitation. Here, we apply a linear vulnerability discovery model into Windows operating systems to see the linear discovery trends currently observed often. The applicability of the observation form the paper show that linear discovery model fits very well with aggregate version rather than each version.

Application of Block On-Line Blind Source Separation to Acoustic Echo Cancellation

  • Blind speech separation (BSS) is well-known as a powerful technique for speech enhancement in many real world environments. In this paper, we propose a new application of BSS - acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) in a car environment. For this purpose, we develop a block-online BSS algorithm which provides robust separation than a batch version in changing environments with moving speakers. Simulation results using real world recordings show that the block-online BSS algorithm is very robust to speaker movement. When combined with AEC, simulation results using real audio recording in a car confirm the expectation that BSS improves double talk detection and echo suppression.

  • This paper proposes a robust on-line fault detection method for uncertain systems. It is based on the fault detection method [10] accounting for modelling errors, which is shown to have superior performance over traditional methods but has some computational problems so that it is hard to be applied to on-line problems. The proposed method in this paper is an on-line version of the fault detection method suggested in [10]. Thus the method has the same detection performance robust to model uncertainties as that of [10]. Moreover, its computational burden is shown to be considerably lessened so that it is applicable to on-line fault detection problems.

Estimation of Spatial Dependence by Quasi-likelihood Method (의사우도법을 이용한 공간 종속 모형의 추정)

  • In this paper, we suggest quasi-likelihood estimation (QLE) method and its robust version in estimating spatial dependence modelled through variogram used for spatial data modelling. We compare the statistical characteristics of the estimators with other popular least squares estimators of parameters for variogram model by simulation study. The QLE method for estimating spatial dependence has the advantages that it does not need the concept of lags commonly required for least squares estimation methods as well as its statistical superiority. The QLE method also shows the statistical superiority to the other methods for the tested Gaussian and non-Gaussian spatial processes.

Adaptive Robust Regression for Censored Data (중도 절단된 자료에 대한 적은 로버스트 회귀)

  • In a robust regression model, it is typically assumed that the errors are normally distributed. However, what if the error distribution is deviated from the normality and the response variables are not completely observable due to censoring? For complete data, Kim and Lai(1998) suggested a new adaptive M-estimator with an asymptotically efficient score function. The adaptive M-estimator is based on using B-splines to estimate the score function and simple cross validation to determine the knots of the B-splines, which are a modified version of Kun( 1992). We herein extend this method to right-censored data and study how well the adaptive M-estimator performs for various error distributions and censoring rates. Some impressive simulation results are shown.
