SWMM 분석을 통한 투수성 포장의 유출 저감 특성 평가 (Performance Evaluation of the Runoff Reduction with Permeable Pavements using the SWMM Model)

  • PURPOSES: This study aims to evaluate the runoff reduction with permeable pavements using the SWMM analysis. METHODS: In this study, simulations were carried out using two different models, simple and complex, to evaluate the runoff reduction when an impermeable pavement is replaced with a permeable pavement. In the simple model, the target area for the analysis was grouped into four areas by the land use characteristics, using the statistical database. In the complex model, simulation was performed based on the data on the sewer and road network configuration of Yongsan-Gu Bogwang-Dong in Seoul, using the ArcGIS software. A scenario was created to investigate the hydro-performance of the permeable pavement based on the return period, runoff coefficient, and the area of permeable pavement that could be laid within one hour after rainfall. RESULTS : The simple modeling analysis results showed that, when an impervious pavement is replaced with a permeable pavement, the peak discharge reduced from $16.7m^3/s$ to $10.4m^3/s$. This represents a reduction of approximately 37.6%. The peak discharge from the whole basin showed a reduction of approximately 11.0%, and the quantity decreased from $52.9m^3/s$ to $47.2m^3/s$. The total flowoff reduced from $43,261m^3$ to $38,551m^3$, i.e., by approximately 10.9%. In the complex model, performed using the ArcGIS interpretation with fewer permeable pavements applicable, the return period and the runoff coefficient increased, and the total flowoff and peak discharge also increased. When the return period was set to 20 years, and a runoff coefficient of 0.05 was applied to all the roads, the total outflow reduced by $5195.7m^3$, and the ratio reduced to 11.7%. When the return period was increased from 20 years to 30 and 100 years, the total outflow reduction decreased from 11.7% to 8.0% and 5.1%, respectively. When a runoff coefficient of 0.5 was applied to all the roads under the return period of 20 years, the total outflow reduction was 10.8%; when the return period was increased to 30 and 100 years, the total outflow reduction decreased to 6.5% and 2.9%, respectively. However, unlike in the simple model, for all the cases in the complex model, the peak discharge reductions were less than 1%. CONCLUSIONS : Being one of the techniques for water circulation and runoff reduction, a high reduction for the small return period rainfall event of penetration was obtained by applying permeable pavements instead of impermeable pavement. With the SWMM analysis results, it was proved that changing to permeable pavement is one of the ways to effectively provide water circulation to various green infrastructure projects, and for stormwater management in urban watersheds.

콘크리트 포장의 슬래브 두께 손실에 대한 지불규정 기준 정립을 위한 기초연구 (Preliminary Investigation of Pavement Adjustment Concepts for Slab Thickness Deficiency in Portland Cement Concrete Pavement)

  • 현재의 도로포장 건설기준 및 시방은 자재 및 시공방법 중심으로 되어 있으며 이러한 시방을 따라 시공된 도로포장은 단기적으로 성능을 판단할 수 있는 근거가 미비하며 또한 장기적인 도로포장의 성능을 고려하지 않기 때문에 고성능 고내구성이 요구되는 도로포장의 건설을 확신해 주지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 도로포장 건설분야에 성능중심의 건설기술 기준을 개발하여 적용하기 위한 과정으로 공용성을 기반으로 하는 지불규정을 개발하는 연구가 진행중에 있으며 본 논문은 콘크리트 포장의 설계 및 시공에 있어서 가장 중요시되는 인자인 콘크리트 슬래브의 두께에 손실이 생겼을 경우에 적용할 지불규정 개발을 위해 기초적으로 수행한 연구 내용에 대하여 기술하였다. 먼저 외국의 슬래브 두께에 대한 지불규정 적용에 대하여 분석을 하여 문제점을 파악하였으며, 공용성에 기반을 둔 두께 손실에 대한 지불규정 개념을 개발하기 위하여 AASHTO피로파손 공식 및 슬래브 두께와 응력과의 상관관계와 응력레벨과 콘크리트 포장 수명과의 상관관계를 이용하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그리고 기존 콘크리트 포장의 두께를 측정하여 위치에 따른 시공 시 슬래브 두께의 편차를 파악하였으며 코어를 이용하여 두께를 측정할 때 두께 측정방법 및 사람에 따른 측정편차에 대한 분석을 수행하여 지불규정에서 두께손실 범위를 결정할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

일반국도에 적용한 마이크로서페이싱공법과 폴리머슬러리실공법에 대한 현장 공용성 평가 (Field Performance Evaluation of Micro-surfacing Method and Polymer Slurry Seal Method Used in National Highway)

  • PURPOSES : Recently, crack, rutting, and stripping problems from the surface of asphalt pavements in National highway are observed and they affect the drivers to feel uncomfortable on the road. Surface treatments are recommended to use in distressed pavements due to cost-effective, and improvement of surface performance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments for distressed asphalt pavements. METHODS : Surface conditions and friction resistance are evaluated for asphalt pavements treated with micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal mixes in National highway 30 line and 34 line. Visual observation is conducted and surface performance is measured by PES (Performance Evaluation Surveyor) in terms of crack ratio, rutting and IRI(International Roughness Index). BPN(British Pendulum Number) is measured by BPT(British Pendulum Tester) to evaluate the friction resistance in the field. RESULTS : The surface evaluation results are presented for asphalt pavement treated with micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments in National highway 30 line and 34 line. Based on the visual observation, micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments show better improvements in terms of cracks and stripping. Based on the surface conditions measured by PES vehicle, the surface performance of micro-surfacing treatments improves from 53.3% to 54.2% and the surface performance of polymer slurry seal treatments improves from 21.6% to 59.7%. However, the friction resistance of both micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments decreases from 2.5% to 6.7%. Further, it should be verified to produce the surface exposed with aggregates during the construction process of both treatment methods in the field. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the performance evaluation results in the filed, the surface performance of asphalt pavement treated with micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments improves from 21.6% to 59.7%. While, the friction resistance of asphalt pavement treated with micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments does not improve. It can be concluded that current micro-surfacing and polymer slurry seal treatments would improve surface performance but would not improve the friction resistance.

Falling Weight Deflectometer 처짐값을 이욤한 아스팔트 포장체의 구조적 상태 평가기법 개발 (Development of the Structural Condition Evaluation Technique for Asphalt Pavements Using Falling Weight Deflectometer Deflections)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 Falling Weight Deflectometer 처짐값을 이용하여 아스팔트 포장체의 구조적 상태 평가기법을 개발하고, 이를 이용하여 포장체 각 층의 구조적 상태 평가기준을 제시함에 있다. 유한요소해석 아스팔트 포장체 구조해석 프로그램을 이용하여 가상적 데이터베이스를 구축하여 포장체의 표면처짐값과 포장체 내부반응과의 상관관계를 도출하였다. FWD 처짐값과 포장체 두께를 이용하여 직접적으로 포장체 내부반응을 계산할 수 있는 아스팔트 포장체의 내부반응 모델을 통계적 회귀분석을 통하여 개발하였다. 개발된 반응모델을 토대로 아스팔트 포장체 각 층의 구조적 상태를 평가하기 위한 절차를 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 평가 절차를 검증하기 위하여 국도 11개와 지방도 8개 노선에서 FWD와 동적관입시험을 수행하였으며, 현장에서 채취한 코어는 아스팔트 시편의 삼축압축반복재하시험을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 아스팔트층의 경우 아스팔트층 하부의 인장변형률값과 회복탄성계수값이 아스팔트 층의 강성 특성을 평가하는 중요한 인자로 판단되었다. 보조기층에서는 BDI값과 보조기층 상부의 압축변형률이 보조기층의 지지력 평가에 적합하였으며, 하부층의 경우 BCI값과 하부층 상부의 압축변형률값이 노상토의 지지력 및 상태를 판단하는데 적절한 인자로 선정되었다. 아스팔트층과 보조기층은 3단계, 하부층은 2단계로 구분하여 아스팔트 포장체의 구조적 상태를 평가 할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였다.

  • It has been past for many years that soil-cement used in the field of roadway pavement in America and Europe. Though the design and construction criteria on soil-cement pavement have been well setablished in Korea's specificaions, this method has not been applied in roadway pavements, in practices. It is mainly caused by the lacks of experiences in soil-cement pavement design and construction. In this study, the problems of soil-cement pavement in use were explored, and the structure and fatigue like of soil-cement bases and subbases were estimated.

  • Over-weight vehicles give the structure of the road an impact overly and shorten the life of the pavements. But unfortuntely so far there has been no clear regulation to implement over weight vehicles. So I suggest that the fining should be evaluated differently according to the size of axle loads. In addition I adapt our study to Pusan city and propose an adequate regulation against over weigtht vehicles.

  • In road pavements, it is known that cement concrete pavement has superior durability, safety compared. But in repairing pavement, cement concrete pavement is not usually applied because of the length of time while the road is interrupted when using Ordinary and Rapid-hardening Portland Cement. And Super High Early Strength Cement and Ultra Super High Early Strength Cement are not favorable for ready mixed concrete because of rapid setting time, high slump loss and other restrictions. We developed special cement developing 1 day strength of over 30.0N/mm$^2$ to open the road within 1 day and workable time is maintained over 1 hour so that it can be used as ready mixed concrete. We performed experimental overlay construction with the cement and evaluated the mechanical property and the durability. At curing temperature of 8-l8$^{\circ}C$,the flexural strength was 6.4N/mm$^2$at 1 day, so that the road can be open to traffic within 1 day. In durability test, the hardened concrete showed higher durability than Portland cement concrete.

  • A sliding accident on the road have a high percentage by road freezing, especially, it is often appeared at bridges and Tunnel of freezing areas. Thus, the stability of road operations is enhanced by preventing a partial freezing phenomenon. According to the geothermal snow melting system analysis, a pattern of thermal conductivity is found out about pavement materials of concrete and asphalt when it is buried. The thermal conductivity study is essential that be applied the geothermal snow melting system according to heating exchanger pipe laying of lower pavements. The model tests are conducted on low temperature in freezer using the manufactured test model which is equal to pavement materials. And Many variables are discovered from numerical analyzes of the same conditions with model test.

  • Domestic ultra-hard road repair materials require a lot of time before the road can be opened to traffic. Therefore, in this study, Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) based road repair material was used to improve the above problems. Furthermore, the basic physical properties of MMA-based pavement repair materials are examined to confirm their suitability in concrete pavements. For this study, two types of MMA road repair materials (A type and B type) were selected. Then, the curing of the test specimens prepared for painting was carried out under three conditions. The experimental items were viscosity (drop time) and drying time (set to touch, dry-hard). As a result of the experiment, viscosity (drop time) was faster in type A than in type B. The drying time results were as follows. In the case of set ti touch, both type A and type B dried in about 10 minutes regardless of the curing conditions. In the case of dry-hard, regardless of the curing conditions, A type dried longer than B type, but it dried faster than conventional road repair materials. Therefore, within the scope of this study, it is considered that A type has a high potential for utilization as a road repair material.

친환경 고화재를 이용한 임도포장의 현장 적용성 연구 (Field Application of an Eco-Friendly Solidification Material for Forest Road Pavement)

  • 임도포장공법 중 현재 많이 시공되는 콘크리트 포장은 하부지반의 침식으로 인해 균열이 많이 발생하며, 경사가 급한 경우 결빙으로 인하여 임도로서 역할을 수행할 수 없으며, 그리고 콘크리트가 갖고 있는 유해성(6가 크롬 등) 때문에 산림을 건강의 목적으로 생각하는 국민정서에 반하는 단점이 있다. 이러한 측면에서 본 연구는 콘크리트 포장의 문제점을 보완하기 위해 친환경 고화재를 이용하여 경북 고령군 쌍림면에 시설된 임도 85 m에 시험포장을 실시하여 임도포장의 공정과 비용, 강도와 다짐도를 조사하였다. 임도포장공정은 요소작업별로 준비작업, 노면 터파기, 노면 고르기, 하부지반 다짐, 거푸집 설치, 유용토 채취 및 선별, 믹싱, 포설, 다짐, 양생으로 이루어지며, 일위대가를 통한 개략적인 단가산출을 한 결과 콘크리트 포장의 경우는 일반적으로 노무비, 재료비, 경비를 합한 총 38,681원/$m^3$, 친환경 고화재의 경우 총 합계 38,245원/$m^3$으로 시공비용은 비슷하게 나타났다. 또한 양생기간에 따른 강도 특성을 알아보기 위하여 비파괴시험인 슈미트 해머 시험을 실시한 결과 양생기간 7일은 10.5~13.5 MPa, 14일은 18.1~22.7 MPa, 28일은 20.8~23.0 MPa로 양생기간 14일에서 강도증가 폭이 가장 높게 나타났다.
