브레이스트 아치 리브의 면내 좌굴 및 극한강도 평가 (Evaluation of In-plane Buckling and Ultimate Strength for Braced Arch Ribs)

  • 본 연구에서는 원형 강관을 수직 브레이스로 연결한 아치 리브의 면내 좌굴강도 및 극한강도를 평가하기 위한 매개변수 해석 연구를 수행하였다. 브레이스트 아치 리브의 탄소성 거동은 하중의 재하 상태와 아치 곡률뿐만 아니라 일반 단일 아치 리브와 달리 강관리브와 브레이스 부재의 휨강성비, 브레이스의 배치 간격, 강관 리브의 배치간격 등에 영향을 받게 된다. 이러한 영향을 분석하기 위해 본 해석에서는 라이즈비, 리브와 브레이스의 단면2차모멘트비, 수직브레이스의 간격비, 지간 대비 상 하 리브의 간격비, 초기 제작오차 및 세장비 등을 매개변수로 하고 하중의 재하 상태는 등분포 고정하중에 대한 활하중의 비를 고려하였다. 이러한 매개변수에 대한 해석 결과로부터 브레이스트 아치 리브의 적정 형상을 제안하였다. 또한, 브레이스트 아치 리브의 극한강도 평가를 위한 대형 구조 실험을 수행하였으며, 실험 결과는 해석에 의한 결과와 비교적 일치하였다.

  • The differential equations governing free vibrations of the elastic arches with hollow section are derived in polar coordinates, in which the effect of rotatory inertia is included. Natural frequencies is computed numerically for parabolic arches with both clamped ends and both hinged ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and reference are made to validate theories and numerical methods developed herein. The lowest four natural frequency parameters are reported, with the rotatory inertia, as functions of three non-dimensional system parameters: the breadth ratio, the thickness ratio and the rise to span length ratio.

  • The differential equations governing in-plane free vibrations of the elastic, catenary arch with rotatory inertia are derived in Cartesian coordinates. Frequencies and mode shapes are computed numerically for such arches with unsymmetric axes, for both clamped-clamped and hinged-hinged end constraints. The lowest four natural frequency parameters are reported, with and without rotatory inertia, as a function of three nondimensional system parameters; the span to cord length ratio e, the slenderness ratio s, and the rise to cord length ratio f. Experimental measures of frequencies and mode shapes for several laboratory-scale catenary models serve to validate the theoretical results.

  • This paper deals with the influence of elastic foundations on natural frequencies of curved beams. Taking into account the effects of rotatoy inertia and shear deformation, the differential equations governing free, out-of-plane vibrations of circular curved beams resting on Winkler-type foundations are derived and solved numerically. Hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped end constraints are considered in numerical examples. The lowest three natural frequencies are claculated over a range of non-dimensional system parameters: the horizontal rise to span length ratio, the slenderness ratio, the foundation parameter, and the width ratio of contact area between the beam and foundation. The effects of rotatory inertia and shear deformation are also analyzed.

  • The differential equations governing free vibrations of the elastic, horizontally curved beams with unsymmetric axis are derived in Cartesian coordinates rather than in polar coordinates, in which the effect of torsional inertia is included. Frequencies are computed numerically for the sinusoidal curved beams with both clamped ends and both hinged ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and SAP 2000 are made to validate theories and numerical methods developed herein. The convergent efficiency is highly improved under the newly derived differential equations in Cartesian coordinates. The lowest four natural frequency parameters are reported, with and without torsional inertia, as functions of three non-dimensional system parameters: the horizontal rise to chord length ratio, the span length to chord length ratio, and the slenderness ratio.

  • This study explores the free, out-of-plane vibrations of horizontally circular curved beams. The differential equations governing the free vibration of such beams, including the effects of warping and rotatory inertia, are derived and solved numerically. The Runge-Kutta method and the Determinant Search method combined with Regula-Falsi method are used to integrate the differential equations and to obtain the natural frequencies, respectively. The lowest three natural frequencies are calculated over a wide range of non-dimensional system parameters: the horizontal rise to span length ratio, the slenderness ratio, the stiffness parameter, and the warping parameter. It is expected that the results obtained herein can be used practically for the design of curved member systems.

  • The differential equations governing free, in-plane vibrations of non-circular arches with the translational (radial and tangential directions) and rotational springs at the ends, including the effects of rotatory inertia, shear deformation and axial deformation, are solved numerically using the corresponding boundary conditions. The lowest four natural frequencies for the parabolic geometry are calculated over a range of non-dimensional system parameters: the arch rise to span length ratio, the slenderness ratio, and the translational and rotational spring parameters.

Frequencies and mode shapes are computed numerically for parabolic curved beams with the hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped ends. Comparisons of natural frequencies between this study and ADINA are made to validate the theories and numerical methods developed herein.   • This paper deals with the free vibrations of elastica shaped arches with constant arc length. The elastica shaped arches are formed by the post-buckled column whose arc length is always constant. The equations governing free, in-plane vibration of general arch in open literature are modified for applying the free vibrations of elastica shaped arch and solved numerically to obtain frequencies and mode shapes for hinged-hinged end constraints. The effects of rotatory inertia, rise to span length ratio and slenderness ratio on natural frequencies are presented. The frequencies of elastica and parabolic shaped arches are compared. Also, typical mode shapes are presented in figures.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the free vibrations of horizontally curved beams resting on Winkler-type foundations. Based on the classical Bernoulli-Euler beam theory, the governing differential equations for circular curved beams are derived and solved numerically. Hinged-hinged, hinged-clamped and clamped-clamped end constraints are considered in numerical examples. The free vibration frequencies calculated using the present analysis have been compared with the finite element's results computed by the software ADINA. Numerical results are presented to show the effects on the natural frequencies of curved beams of the horizontal rise to span length ratio, the foundation parameter, and the width ratio of contact area between the beam and foundation.
