For providing high quality-guaranteed service over Internet, traffic engineering based on an MPLS technology is being introduced. MPLS traffic engineering performs the computation on the path guaranteeing service`s quality and the reservation on network resources by an MPLS signaling protocol. As one of MPLS signaling protocol, RSVP-TE protocol transmits and receives periodic refresh messages for maintaining the path of a traffic flow. Such characteristic gives a heavy processing overhead to routers for maintaining states of large number of paths. In this paper, we propose a scalable implementation approach for RSVP-TE without dramatically increasing processing overhead. And we eval-uate the processing overhead on periodic messages by implementing the RSVP-TE protocol and the reduction mechanism of periodic messages.

DRAM is a major component of the main memory system. As the operating system evolves and application complexity and capacity increases, the capacity and speed of DRAM are also increasing. DRAM should perform a refresh action of periodically reading and then re-storing stored values, and the accompanying performance and power/energy overhead embodies characteristics that worsen as capacity increases. This study proposes an energy efficiency improvement technique that efficiently stores the rows that need to be refreshed within 64ms and 128ms using the bloom filter for cells with the lowest retention time of electrons. The results of the experiment showed that the proposed technique resulted in an average 5.5% performance improvement, 76.4% reduction in average refresh energy, and 10.3% reduction in average EDP.

This paper describes a low-voltage dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) focusing on subthreshold leakage reduction during self-refresh (sleep) mode. By sharing a power switch, multiple iterative circuits such as row and column decoders have a significantly reduced subthreshold leakage current. To reduce the leakage current of complex logic gates, dual channel length scheme and input vector control method are used. Because all node voltages during the standby mode are deterministic, zigzag super-cutoff CMOS is used, allowing to Preserve internal data. MTCMOS technique Is also used in the circuits having no need to preserve internal data. Sub-1.2-V 1-Gb mobile DDR DRAM employing all these low-power techniques was designed in a 60 nm CMOS technology and achieved over 77% reduction of overall leakage current during the self-refresh mode.
The control of the data retention time is a main issue for realizing future high density dynamic random access memory. The novel junction process scheme in sub-micron DRAM cell with STI(Shallow Trench Isolation) has been investigated to improve the tail component in the retention time distribution which is of great importance in DRAM characteristics. In this' paper, we propose the new implantation scheme by gate-related ion beam shadowing effect and buffer-enhanced ${\Delta}Rp$ (projected standard deviation) increase using buffered N-implantation with tilt and 4X(4 times)-rotation that is designed on the basis of the local-field-enhancement model of the tail component. We report an excellent tail improvement of the retention time distribution attributed to the reduction of electric field across the cell junction due to the redistribution of N-concentration which is Intentionally caused by ion Beam Shadowing and Buffering Effect using tilt implantation with 4X-rotation. And also, we suggest the least requirements for adoption of this new implantation scheme and the method to optimize the key parameters such as tilt angle, rotation number, Rp compensation and Nd/Na ratio. We used MEDICI Simulator to confirm the junction device characteristics. And measured the refresh time using the ADVAN Probe tester.

In this paper we prescribe a replication server scheme with an algorithm DRF (Differential Refresh File) to refresh multiple materialized views and replicas in distributed environments. Before sending relevant tuples in server sites to client sites, an effective tuple reduction scheme is developed as a preprocessor to reduce the transmission cost. Because it utilizes differential files with out touching base relations, the DRF scheme can help to minimize the number of locks, which enhances the system's performance.

In recent few years, low-power electronics has been a leading drive for technology developments nourished by rapidly growing market share. Mobile DRAM, as a fundamental block of hand-held devices, is now becoming a product developed by limitless competition. To support application specific mobile features, various new power-reduction schemes have been proposed and adopted by standardization. Tightened power budget in battery-operated systems makes conventional schemes not acceptable and increases difficulty of the circuit design. The mobile DRAM has successfully moved down to 1.5V era, and now it is about to move to 1.2V. Further voltage scaling, however, presents critical problems which must be overcome. This paper reviews critical issues in mobile DRAM design and various circuit schemes to solve the problems. Focused on analog circuits, bitline sensing, IO line sensing, refresh-related schemes, DC bias generation, and schemes for higher data rate are covered.

A new measurement scheme is proposed to generate an optimized boost table for video rate LCD response time compensation. This method, which closely follows basic theory, enables up to a 90% reduction in the lookup table creation time compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, while conventional approaches require all measurements to be repeated in order to load the entire LUT whenever key parameters such as refresh rate or boost intensity are modified, the method proposed in this paper allows the new table to be calculated by utilizing saved waveform data without the need for any repeated measurements.
Frame rate conversion became key technology due to recent advances in LCD panel refresh rates. Although many FRC algorithms have been developed and applied for LCD TV sets, they still suffer from well-known halo artifact. This paper discusses about the artifacts and method to handle them.

The presidential council on national competitiveness and the national police agency have initiated a national project to refresh the road traffic control and operation systems to increase operational efficiency at signalized intersections. It would reduce the number of stops and delay of vehicles at intersections and thus mitigate congestion and emission. Although significant reduction of carbon is expected as a consequential result, such effects has yet been studied since traffic operation was behind of interest in the field of green transportation where planning was mainly involved. This paper delivers the macroscopic effects of carbon reduction of the selected items of the national project: the ones managed by the police agency. The results showed that the studied items yield significant reduction of carbon: pedestrian push button operation, flashing signal operation, progression, lagging left turns, permitted left turn, and actuated left-turn operation would reduce 12.31%, 3.27%, 2.44%, 0.97%, 0.81%, and 0.72% of the total amount of carbon emitted a year in a whole transportation sector, respectively.
