Purpose: Lately, The mixed use development on railroad site came up in government policy about securing development available land for public rental housing and social cohesion. The Purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial composition characteristic in housing development example of domestic and foreign through the mixed-use development of railway depot. Method: Site cases are as follows: Shimura Depot(Japan), Kowloon Bay Depot(Hongkong), Chai Wan Depot (Hongkong), Tsuen Wan Depot(Hongkong), Montparnasse Station(France), Euralille Depot(France), Sin Jeong Depot (Korea), Tai Wai Depot(Hongkong), Tseung Kwan O Depot(Hongkong) and Rive Gauche(France). Railway Depot caused various problems such as the lacking of the feeling of solidarity of local inhabitants and the sense of community. In the case of Hong Kong and a France development example to solve these problems, the architectural characteristics appears. Result: At first it is located facilities together such as commerce, duties, the culture. Further, the publicity of the house place is strengthened because an open space, a park are developed on the railroad site. And a variety of connection systems appear between the outside space with a house housing complex built on the artificial ground. Particularly, the development example has an approach and convenience, and it was confirmed that publicness was considerably high.
Generally, the soil around railroad is contaminated by the leakage of oil during its maintenance or the operation of rolling stock. Because the railroad soil is located under ballast and is hardened with the designated strength due to safety, the characteristics of the polluted site are different. In this study, the phenomena of oil diffusion in the railroad site was investigated using 2-D reactor. The used oil was lubricant. As a result, the maximum diffusion depth of lubricant was about 9.5 cm due to its high viscosity and the hardened soil. The lubricant was diffused by gravity more than by horizontal migration. In the future, these results can be applied to develop a remediation method for the contaminated railroad soil.
In order to maintain comfortable life environment around railroad site, noise from train itself, and to train & rail interaction, and the vibration transmitted through the ground should be controlled to the extent of permissible level. In order to achieve this, the basic railroad noise & vibration data such as magnitude and frequency characteristics of them are necessary to establish the counterplan for railroad noise & vibration. In this study, we measured and analysed the characteristics of time variation, frequency, direction and distance attenuation of noise and vibration of the railroad between Seoul and Pusan.
This study was conducted to present useful information on the utilization and productivity analysis of laminated modular multi-family housing. To this end, the process of site installation was investigated and analyzed through a prior study, and the monitoring survey was conducted through the site installation case of an stacked multi-family housing. Based on the above, the results of productivity analysis using the web-cyclone technique were also presented. However, the site installation process has limitations on generalisation because the process is not the same for each construction company, and also limits that require verification through application in the actual site of the web-cyclone model presented in this study.
The structure of railroad or subway is that low fare transportation system of the large traffic volume. Like this structure is subjected to the cyclic load of moving vehicle. Consequently the result of the settlement analysis or plastic deformation prediction of railroad bed could be used as an important factor in safety of the railroad. The results of cyclic triaxial test were used in the numerical analysis of power model which Li and Selig(1994) developed. The soil samples were obtained from the construction site of railroad. Cyclic triaxial test was conducted with the variation of the magnitude of cyclic load and soil types. The large magnitude of plastic deformation in the railroad bed is caused of structure failure of the railroad.
This study introduces the basic concepts of the vibration reducing methods and presents a case study of 'A' apartment construction site which located nearby railroad. The site is only 60m away from the railroad. Therefor much noise and vibration damages could be expected during train or any other transportation's passing. Especially, the first and second floor may suffer much vibration with the low frequency radiation noise from the walls and floors. This study estimates the noise level of indoor area by measuring the vibration of indoor walls and floors. From this result, vibration barrier, as a method to reduce the noise level which exceeds proper standard value, was attempted to protect vibration transmit from the railroad.
Recenlty, there are many cases that structures are constructed on soft ground in domestic. Generally in those cases, appropriate geotechnical techniques for the ground are needed. In this study, an example for ground improvement of OO railroad station construction site is introduced and analyzed. The ground conditions of this site which is soft ground are that N value is under 6, average depth and ground water table is 24.4m, GL-1.7. So, as a countermeasure technique for bearing reinforcement, Compaction Grouting System (CGS) method was applied on construction site. To estimate the application of CGS method, piezo cone penetration test and static pile loading test were carried out during the construction. Results of analysis show that CGS method for improving the bearing capacity of soft ground is applicable for the ground well.
