  • A fuzzy identity based signature (FIBS) scheme allows a signer with identity ${\omega}$ to generate a signature which could be verified under identity ${\omega}^{\prime}$ if and only if ${\omega}$ and ${\omega}^{\prime}$ are within a certain distance of each other as judged by some metric. In this paper, we propose an efficient FIBS scheme from lattice assumption, which can resist quantum-computer attacks. Without using the Bonsai Tree technique, we utilize the lattice basis delegation technique to generate the private key, which has the advantage of keeping the lattice dimension invariant. We also prove that our proposed scheme is existentially unforgeable under an adaptive chosen message and identity attack in the random oracle model. Compared with existing scheme, our proposed scheme is much more efficient, especially in terms of communication overhead. Since our FIBS scheme possesses similar error-tolerance property, it can be well applied in post-quantum communication biometric authentication environments, where biometric identifiers such as fingerprints, voice, iris and gait are used in human identification.

  • The molecular interactions between the nucleic acid bases and water molecules are important in organism. Despite Adenine-Thymine Hoogsteen base pair and Guanine-Cytosine Watson-Crick base pair have been demonstrated to be most stable in a gas phase, the effect of water on the stability of these base pairs remains elusive. Here we report the structural and thermodynamic characteristics on possible Adenine-Thymine and Guanine-Cytosine base pairs in a gas phase as well as in an aqueous phase by using quantum mechanical method and statistical mechanical calculations. First, we optimized the direct base-pair interaction energies of four Adenine-Thymine base pairs (Hoogsteen base pair, reverse Hoogsteen base pair, Watson-Crick base pair, and reverse Watson-Crick base pair) and three Guanine-Cytosine base pairs (GC1 base pair, GC2 base pair, and Watson Crick base pair) in a gas phase at the $B3LYP/6-31+G^{**}$ level. Then, the effect of solvent was quantified by the electronic reorganization energy and the solvation free energy by statistical mechanical calculations. Thereby, we discuss the effect of water on the stability of Adenine-Thymine and Guanine-Cytosine base pairs, and argue why Adenine-Thymine Watson-Crick base pair and Guanine-Cytosine Watson-Crick base pair are most stable in an aqueous environment.

  • The continuum elasticity model is applied to investigate quantitatively the growth features and nucleation mechanism of quantum dots, nanopits, and joint QDs-nanopits structures in GaInAlN quasyternary systems. We have shown that for GaInAlN material system at the critical strain of ${\varepsilon}^*=0.039$ the sign of critical energy and volume is changed. We assume that at ${\varepsilon}={\varepsilon}^*$ the mechanism of the nucleation is changed from the growth of quantum dots to the nucleation of nanopits. Obviously, at small misfit (${\varepsilon}$ < ${\varepsilon}^*$), the bulk nucleation mechanism dominates. However, at ${\varepsilon}$ > ${\varepsilon}^*$, when the energy barrier becomes negative as well as a larger misfit provides a low-barrier path for the formation of dislocations, the nucleation of pits becomes energetically preferable. The free energy of mixing for $Ga_{1-x-y}In_xAl_yN$ quasiternary system was calculated and studied and its 3D sketch was plotted.

  • The containment filtered venting system (CFVS) filters the atmosphere of the containment building and discharges a part of it to the outside environment to prevent containment overpressure during severe accidents. The Korean CFVS has a tank that filters fission products from the containment atmosphere by pool scrubbing, which is the primary decontamination process; however, prediction of its performance has been done based on researches conducted under mild conditions than those of severe accidents. Bubble behavior in a pool is a key parameter of pool scrubbing. Therefore, the bubble behavior in the pool was analyzed under various injection flow rates observed at the venturi nozzles used in the Korean CFVS using a wire-mesh sensor. Based on the experimental results, void fraction model was modified using the existing correlation, and a new bubble size prediction model was developed. The modified void fraction model agreed well with the obtained experimental data. However, the newly developed bubble size prediction model showed different results to those established in previous studies because the venturi nozzle diameter considered in this study was larger than those in previous studies. Therefore, this is the first model that reflects actual design of a venturi scrubbing nozzle.

  • For the development of highly efficient quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSCs), it is important to enhance the electrocatalytic activity of the counter electrodes (CEs). Herein, a fabrication process of Cu2S CEs are optimized for the development highly efficient QDSCs. The surface of brass film is treated with HCl solution to prepare the Cu2S CEs, and the concentraion as well as the temperature of HCl solution are controlled. It is found that the uniformity for the thickness of prepared Cu2S CEs is enhanced when the diluted HCl solution is used, compared to the HCl solution of standard concentration. In addition, the electrocatalytic activity of the Cu2S CEs is also increased with the modificed process, which is confirmed by impedance data and Tafel polarization curves. As a result, the photoconversion efficiency of QDSCs is improved from 4.49% up to 5.73%, when the concentraion and temperature of the HCl treatment are efficiently optimized.
