We report the successful fabrication and I-V curve superconductivity test results of the Nb/Al-based superconducting tunnel junctions. STJs with side-lengths of 20, 40, 60 and $80{\mu}m$ were fabricated by deposition of polycrystalline Nb/Al/AlOx/Al/Nb 5-layer thin films incorporated on a 3-inch Si wafer. STJ was designed by $Tanner^{TM}$ L-Edit 8.3 program, and fabricated in SQUID fabrication facility, KRISS. S-layer STJ thin-films were fabricated using UV photolithography, DC magnetron sputtering, Reactive ion etching, and CVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition) techniques. Superconducting state test for STJ was succeeded in 4K with liquid helium cooling system. Their performance indicators such ie energy gap, normal resistance, normal resistivity, dynamic resistance, dynamic resistivity, and quality factor were measured from I-V curve. Fabricated Nb/Al STJ shows $11\%$ higher FWHM energy resolution than genuine Nb STJ.

The defense industry has recently been focused on boosting exports of weapon systems. Investigation and selection of promising export items for SMEs in the defense industry is essential to establish a defense promotion policy. This study presents a model for selecting promising export items applicable to the defense industry through case studies, such as criteria for selecting promising items from other organizations. The evaluation index is largely composed of three categories, competitiveness of the item itself, capabilities of the exporter, and ripple effect of the export, and consists of eight detailed evaluation indicators. The relative weight between categories was calculated through the AHP method. In the selection model, if a certain score is exceeded, it is then possible to adopt a promising item or verify validity. In particular, promising items were selected by applying this methodology to those involved in the defense industry. Using the model presented in this study, it is expected that domestic small and medium-sized enterprises with relatively high export competitiveness and excellent quality items will be given priority, and more effective and intensive export support will be possible.
This paper solves the problem in underdetermined convolutive mixture by improving the disadvantages of the multichannel nonnegative matrix factorization technique widely used in blind source separation. In conventional researches based on Spatial Covariance Matrix (SCM), each element composed of values such as power gain of single channel and correlation tends to degrade the quality of the separated sources due to high variance. In this paper, level and frequency normalization is performed to effectively cluster the estimated sources. Therefore, we propose a novel SCM and an effective distance function for cluster pairs. In this paper, the proposed SCM is used for the initialization of the spatial model and used for hierarchical agglomerative clustering in the bottom-up approach. The proposed algorithm was experimented using the 'Signal Separation Evaluation Campaign 2008 development dataset'. As a result, the improvement in most of the performance indicators was confirmed by utilizing the 'Blind Source Separation Eval toolbox', an objective source separation quality verification tool, and especially the performance superiority of the typical SDR of 1 dB to 3.5 dB was verified.

A two-step open system(TOS) was proposed to relay between a healing platform and a repository of personal health documents. TOS was designed by taking into consideration the pubsub service based on large scale connections to monitor a provider's access/request process for health documents in real time. TOS, however, uses WebSocket as a communication protocol in case of pubsub. Given the operational environment of low quality wireless networks for mobile devices that are user terminals in a healing platform, there is a need to add a messaging protocol to support QoS as well as a transmission protocol. As a light messaging protocol optimized for mobile devices, MQTT defines reliable messaging QoS to consider a wireless network situation of low speed/low quality. This study designed an MQTT protocol-based message broker to support QoS in case of large scale connections and pubsub by taking into consideration mobile devices that are user terminals in a healing platform. After designing a model between TOS and MQTT message broker, the study implemented a prototype based on the proposed design and compared it with its counterparts from previous studies based on the performance indicators in a load-test with the MQTT client tool.

Internet Service Quality has been constantly the center of attention to Internet Service Providers. The KII project plan (Korea Information Infrastructure) aims to build broadband backbone networks mainly through optical fiber cables and ATM switches and to Provide the government ministries, local authorities and non-profit organizations with high-speed, highly capable broadband access to these networks at reasonable rates. The KB service model, however, is different from other Internet Service models much in the same way SP (Service Provider) and NP (Network Provider) differ from each other. In this paper, we evaluate KII service according to various customer satisfaction indicators under the methodologies and categories as put forth in both the ACSI (American Customer Satisfaction Index) and SEM (Structural Equation Model). We use a structural equation model (SEM) to demarcate the Korea Information Infrastructure Customer Satisfaction Index (KIICSI) in relation to network service quality. The results of our study suggest some strategies for the KII Project need to be modified and effectively implemented in order to increase the satisfaction level of the KII customers.
Purpose: The consistent rise in the number of foreign students in Korea demands an accurate and detailed investigation into their dietary practices and nutritional status. For these international students, assimilation into new cultures can be stressful. The influence this process may have on dietary behaviors as well as overall health cannot be overlooked. Methods: The researchers in this study sought to investigate the nutritional status and dietary practices of Ghanaian students studying in Korea. A total of 81 Ghanaian male students with an average age of $29.4{\pm}4.0years$ were sampled between May and June 2016. Investigations were carried out on the general characteristics of the participants, their daily food and nutrient intakes using a 24-h dietary recall method, meal skipping practices, and the nutritional quality of their diets based on their meal skipping habits. Results: The study revealed that the daily nutrient intake of subjects did not fully meet the daily recommended nutrient intake (RNI) established by Ghanaian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), particularly for energy, calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamin B2 requirements. The Nutrient Adequacy Ratio (NAR) for calcium was very low, posing a deficiency risk to the participants. Meal skipping practices among participants changed significantly after arriving in Korea. The study also compared the diet quality indicators (Nutrient Adequacy Ratio and Mean Adequacy Ratio) of those who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ with those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Participants who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ were shown to have lower dietary intakes of vitamins B1 and B2 than those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Conclusion: Ultimately, the study found that meal skipping among Ghanaian students was common, and their daily nutrient intakes did not meet the set dietary standards. Those who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ had lower dietary intakes of vitamins B1 and B2 than those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Based on our study findings, we recommend that nutrition education should be organized for the Ghanaian student community in Korea using our results as a template to draw up a nutrition program that is culturally appropriate.

This study aims to compare the differences between the socially underprivileged and the population as a whole in terms of the quality of life gap between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions based on the capabilities approach. To this end, we selected indicators that can measure nine dimensions of capabilities, such as income, housing, health, and social relations, calculated indicator values for the socially underprivileged and the whole population, and standardized them. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the SUR model were used for comparative analysis. The results show that there are significant differences in the disparities between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions between the socially underprivileged and the entire population, and the differences are generally consistent in the most unfavorable direction for the socially underprivileged in the non-capital regions. In addition, the gap between the Seoul metropolitan and non-capital regions is not large from the point of view of the total population average, but the inter-regional gap is still significant from the viewpoint of the socially underprivileged. These results show the limitations of 'average' regional policies based on an analysis of the average of the total population, and the study is significant to illustrate the ecological errors that may arise in regional problem analysis.
Optics fabrication process for precision space optical parts includes bound abrasive grinding, loose abrasive lapping and polishing. The traditional bound abrasive grinding with bronze bond cupped diamond wheel leaves the machine marks of about $20{mu}m$ rms in height and the subsurface damage of about 1 ${mu}m$ rms in height to be removed by subsequent loose abrasive lapping. We explored an efficient quantitative control of precision CNC grinding. The machining parameters such as grain size, work-piece rotation speed and feed rate were altered while grinding the work-piece surfaces of 20-100 mm in diameter. The input grinding variables and the resulting surface quality data were used to build grinding prediction models using empirical and multi-variable regression analysis. The effectiveness of such grinding prediction models was then examined by running a series of precision CNC grinding operation with a set of controlled input variables and predicted output surface quality indicators. The experiment achieved the predictability down to ${pm}20$ nm in height and the surface roughness down to 36 nm in height. This study contributed to improvement of the process efficiency reaching directly the polishing and figuring process without the need for the loose abrasive lapping stage.
This study monitored Daecheong 1-bo, Daecheong-stream, which carried out the project in 2014, from 2015 to 2016. The technology applied to the stream was evaluated using Periphytic Algae to check contamination indicators and ecological health of the area with an integral river-bed protection using non-toxic materials. The water quality of the monitoring section was confirmed to be above the river environment standard (II), and it was confirmed that the Saproxenic taxa of the river bed protection were higher than the upper and downstream sections. The TDI, which is an index of attachment algae, was shown in the average 51.03 and 52.15 for the pilot project sections in 2015 and 2016, confirming that the index is of the "normal" grade. This is the other sections in the upstream and downstream sections showed higher than "bad", which is thought to have a positive effect on the habitat of the river ecosystem components, especially the microbial population in river bed protection.

The indicators of an advanced society include the overall level of life quality and satisfaction among all the members. The overall life quality has close relationships with accessibility to urban space for the social weak. Access to facilities of interest and right of mobility in urban space are very important issues to the weak class in terms of transportation including the visually handicapped. In particular, great significance is endowed upon transfer facilities, which play mediating roles between facilities like passenger facilities, and the convenience facilities inside for the disabled, which are usually the only means for the disabled to access each facility. As they are provided to the visually handicapped as well, it's very important to analyze the concerned spatial distribution and offer the results. The previous studies on the subject, however, merely covered the perceptions of the users and the related statistical analysis. This study set out to analyze non-barrier space to promote the utilization of convenience facilities at passenger facilities by the visually handicapped and to secure their right of mobility by using a GIS for spatial analysis based on spatial data. The results show that it's urgent to supplement the existing space for the handicapped and that it's necessary to expand convenience facilities for the disabled such as paths with Braille points on them to promote their use of diverse convenience facilities inside.
