  • Since pulse energization can improve the performance of Electrostatic Precipitator(ESP) for high resistivity dusts, high voltage micro-pulse generators, 70kV 140usec duration pulses for instance, are commonly developed by LC resonance for most pulse powered ESPs. Consisting of discharge electrodes and collecting electrodes, ESP has its own capacitance like a capacitor. ESP's capacitance affects the LC resonance phenomenon with resonance inductor and capacitor of micro-pulse power supply, engineers should acquire the value of their ESP to design for proper power supply design. In this study, we describe the ESP's capacitance measuring device which has the same topology with our new developed micro-pulse power supply.   • Zero current switching(ZCS) series resonant converter is used to control laser power density in a pulsed Nd:YAG laser power supply. The high power and high repetition rate paused Nd:YAG laser is designed and fabricated to control current pulse width and pulse repetition rate in the double elliptical laser oscillator. In order to find out operational characteristics of pulsed Nd:YAG laser, the electrical properties of driving power supply and laser output power are investigated and experimented by changing of the current pulse width from 200uS to 350uS(step 50uS) and pulse repetition rate range of 500pps(pulse per second) to 1150pps. From that result, we obtaind maximum efficiency of 1.83% and maximum laser output or 220W at the condition of 350 uS and 1150pps with one Nd:YAG rod), and obtained that of more than 400W with two laser head connecting series.

  • The power semiconductor switching devices(PSSD) continuously developed, Power Electronic Technology using PSSD is gradually extended. The high frequency inverter to generate the large power high frequency subject to power electronic technology pursuit various applications. Also, in emboss with environmental destruction problem cause the atmosphere and the water pollution to growth of the commercial society, the research in favor of cleaning environmental a pollutant actively proceed. Therefore, This paper describe study on the high frequency pulse power supply. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. The proposed pulse power supply is considerated to be useful for discharge lamp.

  • This paper describes the 40kV solid state pulsed power supply for environmental applications. The output specifications of the pulsed power supply are 40kV, 300A, 3kHz, and average output power of 13kW. In order to generate a high voltage, a series stacking cell structure is used which is charged in parallel and discharged in series. Due to this structure, there is no dynamic voltage balancing problem as well as static voltage balancing problem for switches used in high voltage pulse power supplies. To verify this pulse power supply design, PSpice modeling was performed. Finally, experimental results with non-inductive resistive load and gas treatment reactor proved the reliability of the solid state pulsed power supply.

  • This study proposes a current source-type pulse generator to improve output voltage and current waveforms under a capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) system. The proposed circuit comprises two parallel-connected current source-type converters. These converters can satisfy the required output waveforms of plasma processing. The parallel-connected converters operate without reverse current fault by applying a time-delay control technique. Conventional voltage source converters based on pulse power supply exhibit drawbacks in short-circuit current, and problems occur when they are applied to a CCP system. The proposed pulse power supply based on a current source converter fundamentally solves the short-circuit current problem. Therefore, this topology can improve the voltage and current accuracy of a CCP system.

  • It is expected that industrial accelerator having been distributed fast in domestic these days will be widely used for various fields. In this study we deal with the basic consideration for the drive characteristic of power supply system in the system of industrial accelerator installed at Dongshin University. Beam energy of this system is 34keV~40KeV, 100A. The modulator emits a 11KV-380A pulse of $4.5\mu\textrm{s}$ duration that is transformed to about 34KV-40KV pulse by a pulse transformer.

  • A 200W pulsed Nd: YAG laser for fine welding was developed. The important laser parameters such as laser peak power, average power, pulse width, and pulse energy for welding were studied. In order to obtain the sufficient laser power density for welding, thermal lensing effects were analyzed and a laser resonator with laser beam divergence was designed. The power supply unit was designed to support up to 7kW input. The pulse control unit was developed using a GTO thyristor and could control over 100kW input power to obtain 3.5kW peak power laser. Also due to the GTO thyristor the pulse width could be varied continuously from 0.1 to 20 msec and maximum repetition rate was as high as 300pps.

  • In this paper, a novel 60kV, 300A, 3kHz pulsed power supply based on IGBT stacks is proposed. Proposed scheme consists of series connected 9 power stages to generate maximum 60kV output pulse and 15kW series resonant power inverter to charge DC capacitor voltage. Each power stages are configured as 8 series connected power cells and each power cell generates up to 830VDC, 300A pulses. Finally pulse output voltage is applied using total 72 series connected IGBTs. The synchronization of gating signal is important of series operation of IGBTs. For gating signal synchronization, full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating and specially designed gate power circuit was used.

  • The object of this paper is develope the PC based controlled high voltage power supply and studies 1.2kW(120kV, 10mA) pulse power X-ray generator possible to adapt fluoroscopy of Dental CT X-ray generator and industrial X-ray pulse power equipment. The developed pulse power X-ray generator consisted of mono-block tank include X-ray tube and high voltage X-ray power supply circuit and high voltage control unit with RS232C/422 communication port. The PC control program of pulse power X-ray generator uses LabVIEW, and the size of high voltage transformer and high voltage generator is minimized by high voltage high frequency inverter has 100kHz switching frequency. Also this paper shows result of X-ray tube voltage and tube current correspond to variable load.

  • This paper shows circuits and their output characteristics of a pulse power supply for pulsed laser diodes. The power supply is designed of its output voltages over than 100 V, currents 100 A, pulse repetition rates 100 Hz, and Pulse width $10{\mu}s{\sim} 500{\mu}s$.
