Background & Objectives: The current study aims to convey correct knowledge of dementia that is be on the rise as the most significant social problem and provide basic data for implementing immediate school health education for dementia which is the basis of improving quality of life for patients with dementia, their family and the society by analyzing recognition level for dementia among male and female students in the 2nd grade of middle school and the necessity of school health education for dementia. Methods: The current study conducted a survey with a total of 150 students. 25 male and female students respectively selected from three middle school taking into account regional characteristics. The study also processed the survey results using SPSS-PC Program 12.0 and gained the following results by implementing Frequency Analysis. Cross-tabulation Analysis and ANOVA Analysis. Results: As for respect for grandparents, 55.3% of the respondents said they respect their grandparents. while 39.3% answered so-so and 5.3% said they don't respect their grandparents. As for the number of they meet grandparents, 36.0% of the respondents said they meet grandparents once or twice a month, which was the most frequent answer. On the other hand, 24.7% are once or twice every six months, 13.3% are once or twice a year and a week, respectively, and 6.7% said that they seldom meet their grandparents. In a question about whether they had recognized dementia after explaining dementia in detail, 82.7% said' yes' while 17.3% said' no'. But few students recognized it when they were asked using a terminology' dementia' first. The average score of knowledge level integrating the most fundamental 16 questions about dementia was $11.20{\pm}1.73$. Also 83.3% of the respondents answered that they had no experience in health education about dementia while 16.7% said presented positive answers. In the necessity of health education about dementia, 73.3% of them said' necessary' while 21.3% said' so-so' and 5.3% said 'not necessary. Conclusions: From the above study results, it was found that it is time to emphasize the necessity and importance of school health education for improving respect for the old and a sense of responsibility for support and converting recognition for dementia in Korea that has social structure of the trend toward the nuclear family and heads for an aged society. However, the fact that the above things are not implemented at all in reality can expand disparate views among family members in the future and further can cause even more serious problem by neglecting senior problems. Therefore, the government, social organizations, especially school organizers should recognize the necessity and importance of school health education and actively begin cultivations of students' character by implementing the education about dementia at the early stage.

The purpose of this study is to observe clinically the effects of red onion prescription on type 2 diabetes. The subject of this study were middle-aged people. We measured clinically physiological index, body composition, radial arterial pulse wave before taking medicine and after taking medicine for 4 month (the prescription of red onion). The study results were as follows. In physiological Index, diastolic blood pressure(mmHg)(p<0.001), Fasting blood glucose(mg/dL)(p=0.001), and HbA1c(%)(p<0.001) were decreased significantly after taking medicine. In body Composition, waist-hip ratio(p=0.031), body fat percentage(p=0.006), fat mass(kg)(p=0.005), and muscle mass(kg)(p=0.001) were decreased significantly after taking medicine. Blood Circulation Index, ECO(L/min)(p=0.038) and ECI($L/min/m^2$)(p=0.007) were increased significantly after taking medicine, ECR($dyne^*sec^*cm^{-5}$)(p=0.002), and ECRI($dyne^*sec/cm$)(p=0.001) were decreased significantly after taking medicine for 4 month. The prescription of red onion was showed significant change in physiological index, character of body composition, blood circulation index. Based on this result, it is considered that red onion prescription has the positive effects on type 2 diabetes and blood circulation clinically. In the future, diversified studies on the effects of red onion prescription are needed.
Currently, finding one's way in the underground spaces associated with subway stations in large cities is becoming a serious problem, and an environment that facilitates wayfinding is becoming more important. This study investigated interior treatments that function as visual cues in the subway stations of Seoul, Tokyo, and Taipei in order to develop design guidelines that would improve the place-cognition environment. A theoretical study has shown that there are three categories of visual cue for place cognition: marked trails, regional differentiation, and landmarks. The case study showed that marked trails involve treatments like vertical markers, confrontational positioning, and subway color codes. Regional differentiation involves patterns on the floors and walls, and accent colors on the walls and columns. Landmarks include treatments such as super graphics, symbolic features, artistic decoration and special lights. In the cases of Seoul, marked trails and regional differentiation were predominant. In addition, the Olympic symbol 'Hodori' and the ancient Korean character "Hunminjungeum" were used as landmarks. In the cases of Tokyo, regional differentiation predominated over marked trails because of the complexity of the spatial structure and subway line connection system. In the cases of Taipei, simple, unified images predominated, and there was minimal dependence on marked trails and landmarks. The need for regional differentiation was weak, because the stations studied have open structures that guarantee an open field of view. The results of this research could be used as design guidelines, after further experimental verification, that would help to improve the public environment in terms of wayfinding.
The purpose of this study is to deal with practical investigation, which blends symbolism on spatio-temporal level-especially typography in three-dimensional environment-and the symbolism of written language in the context of visual communication. Up until now, typography research and education have mainly been centered on two-dimensional environment and printing technology, such as the paper. However, this study is the result of this researcher's direct design and implementation of projects on typography aside from paper. Accordingly, this study is to provide an opportunity to raise the level of reason and expression used in visual communication to a new level and to expand its scope. To ensure the efficient progress of the project, this study was to identify the structure, system, and process of communication first. Furthermore, this study was to investigate two-dimensional and three-dimensional typography as the backbone of visual communication. In addition, several representative 3D typography works are analyzed in context and used as the conceptual framework of the project conducted for this study. Based on these results, this research verifies and suggests the possibility practically and objectively by creating the project series entitled Rhetorical Space in 3D typography. In addition, this research gives an opportunity to visualize ideas aimed at the development of character-based visual language and visual communication design in the realm of the more spatial, physical, and three-dimensional public environment.
Constructionists believe that mathematical knowledge is obtained by a series of purely mental constructions, with all mathematical objects existing only in the mind of the mathematician. But constructivism runs the risk of rejecting the classical laws of logic, especially the principle of bivalence and L. E. M.(Law of the Excluded Middle). This philosophy of mathematics also does not take into account the external world, and when it is taken to extremes it can mean that there is no possibility of communication from one mind to another. Two constructionists, Brouwer and Dummett, are common in rejecting the L. E. M. as a basic law of logic. As indicated by Dummett, those who first realized that rejecting realism entailed rejecting classical logic were the intuitionists of the school of Brouwer. However for Dummett, the debate between realists and antirealists is in fact a debate about semantics - about how language gets its meaning. This difference of initial viewpoints between the two constructionists makes Brouwer the intuitionist and Dummettthe the semantic anti-realist. This paper is confined to show that Dummett's proposal in favor of intuitionism differs from that of Brouwer. Brouwer's intuitionism maintained that the meaning of a mathematical sentence is essentially private and incommunicable. In contrast, Dummett's semantic anti-realism argument stresses the public and communicable character of the meaning of mathematical sentences.
The term 'noble savage' is a literary stock character that expresses the concept of an idealized person who has not been corrupted by civilization, and therefore symbolizes humanity's innate goodness. Fictional noble savage characters that are raised by wild animals such as Rudiard Kipling's Mowgli or Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan were created over 100 years ago but are still repeatedly reproduced as movies and TV series. Since films that depict noble savages tend to criticize civilization, popularity of these film could be due to the hidden anxiety of masses towards civilization and technology. Characters in commercial films about noble savages tend to be leveled, sharpened, and assimilated as Allport and Postman argued in The Psychology of Rumor. It is probably because films, as mass medium, need to be understood easily to the public. Characters in animations with cartoon style images are more likely to be leveled, sharpened, and assimilated even further than live-actions. Films show social stereotype of the time through assimilation process. Comparing different versions of film based on the same novel about noble savage how those social stereotypes such as gender roles and idea of evil change.
Recently, various types of dramas have been broadcasted in Korea. Especially, historical dramas having backgrounds about historical events or characters have been recorded high ratings of the viewing audience, as well as a lot of influence on many parts of Korean society. Besides, the historical drama like raised a craze for popular Korean cultures in many Asian countries. The subjects and characters of historical drama are diversifying in recent years. For example, is a royal cook, is a story about running away slaves and their chaser, is a story about a very well-known painter of the Joseon Dynasty era, and is a veterinarian. At this point, in celebration of the officially appointed "year of mathematics", it is very meaningful to demonstrate the importance of mathematics with a historical drama about mathematics and mathematicians of the Joseon Dynasty. In this article, the reasons for production of historical dramas about mathematics and mathematicians in the Joseon Dynasty was presented in two ways. First, modern mathematics has high level of abstractness as its nature, and therefore many students and the public can not understand what except for some areas. Second, it is possible the easier and various approaches can be used to deal with contents about real-life in the view of popularization of mathematics. Also, this article would aim to explore the main character and episodes about mathematics and mathematicians in Joseon Dynasty. For example, the anecdote of Hong Jung Ha, the works of mathematics in the King Sejong's periods, the study of Hong Gil Ju, the joint researches between Nam Byung Gil and Lee Sang Hyuk, the story of Lee Seung Hun, and the mathematics study of middle class people.
Korea has suffered numerous casualties due to a lot of accidents caused by safety insufficiency in recent years. Therefore, safety education is more important than ever before, and 'how to educate with what contents' is an important subject. Especially, experience education is effective rather than theoretical education because of the nature of safety education. However, it is not easy to design and develop these safety education programs. There is not much opportunity to access first-aid training, which is a part of safety education, unless it is compulsory to learn through public institutions. As a result, program utilization on safety education in Korea is still insufficient to what it should be. With that taken into account, this study proposed an effective serious game with fun and immersion for medical first-aid education. To do this, we analyzed five medical games through 20 cases of first-aid applications and elicited five factors that enhance the usability of serious games. With an analysis of five medical games, we selected one game to borrow the game rules, and applied the elicited five elements in the forms of level-up structure, iterative learning, compensation outcomes, competition system, and information transfer. The proposed medical education functional games should have 1) a character that plays a role of a patient, 2) a narrative flow that shows the situation, 3) the user should judge the situation and induce first aid. 4) compensation, levels, and simple repetition should be designed, and 5) information should be shared with the others in the given community. The results of this study is believed to contribute to enhance the medical emergency education in Korea.
