Profile Management System for Contact Information Privacy in Social Network Service (소셜 네트워크 서비스에서 사용자 연락정보 프라이버시 강화를 위한 개인 프로필 관리 시스템 연구)

  • Recently, various social network services have been grown. Among them, personal relationships based social network services such as Facebook and Twitter make a remarkable growth of industry. In such services, users' profiles are very important for establishing the relationship between two users. However some information in a user's profile causes the leakage of the user's privacy, and thus we have to deal with the information in the profile. Especially, we have to treat contact information, such as the phone number and the e-mail address, very carefully since an adversary can use the information to violate the user's privacy in real life. In this paper, we propose two profile management systems that can enhance the privacy of users in social network services. We compare our systems with existing profile management techniques in well-known social network services such as Facebook and Twitter, and show that our systems provide enhanced privacy.

  • In this paper, we introduce the methodology for the automatic generation of the subject field hierarchy for Intellgent Expert Management Framework using WordNet. Intelligent Expert Management Framework, which is proposed as an appropriate method to manage valuable tacit knowledge within the organization, defines the expert profile structure and proposes the efficient method to automate the process to collect and update the expert profile information based on the profile structure defined. To increase the satisfaction level of users, additional intelligent search features are defined and users can be given the list of experts in related or similar expert fields when they perform expert searches based on the expert database being built. To enable automatic profiling of the organizational experts as well as intelligent expert searches, the subject field hierarchy, upon which the expert profiles are classified and expert searches for similar fields are performed, should be predefined. In this paper, we propose the WordNet library method that first eliminates the ambiguity of the senses of nominal data values, constructs the subject field hierarchy by overlapping the hypernym of the remaining senses, and lastly adjusts the derived hierarchy to the preference of users. Based on the proposed methodology, we expect to avoid the prohibitive costs in building large subject field hierarchies when manually done as well as maintain the objectivity of the hierarchies.

  • U-City pursues personalized service by collecting contexts through sensors located over the city and presenting the service automatically depending not on the user's request but on the situations that are needed. To provide the personalized service, however, contexts collected through various sensors are needed, and they include private information. Therefore, it is important to keep a balance between the convenience by presenting service and protecting private information. In this paper, we classify and grade person's various contexts requested in the personalized service environment. Based on these, we make decisions on whether to present the service or not by profile-matching between user profile and service profile. Also, we propose an efficient privacy-protection management scheme to encrypt transmitted private information and to control key distribution.

  • The standard metadata systems are very popular for the description of structures and semantics of information resources to realize sharing and exchanging information in global ubiquitous environment. In real application domain, various metadata elements are reused together with mix-and-match manner. An application system using diverse metadata systems is compelled with refinement and interoperability of metadata elements. Application profile is the general approach to resolve the various problems occurred in metadata application systems. This paper proposes Application Profile Core Ontology (APO) that can achieve the goals and functions of application profile, and describes metadata application system based on APO.

A Study on Scientific Article Recommendation System with User Profile Applying TPIPF (TPIPF로 계산된 이용자프로파일을 적용한 논문추천시스템에 대한 연구)

  • Nowadays users spend more time and effort to find what they want because of information overload. To solve the problem, scientific article recommendation system analyse users' needs and recommend them proper articles. However, most of the scientific article recommendation systems neglected the core part, user profile. Therefore, in this paper, instead of mean which applied in user profile in previous studies, New TPIPF (Topic Proportion-Inverse Paper Frequency) was applied to scientific article recommendation system. Moreover, the accuracy of two scientific article recommendation systems with above different methods was compared with experiments of public dataset from online reference manager, CiteULike. As a result, the proposed scientific article recommendation system with TPIPF was proven to be better.

Difference in Happiness Level of Workers Depending on the Leadership Type (상사의 리더십 유형에 따른 근로자의 행복 수준 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the difference in happiness of workers depending on the perceived leadership types in a big company in Korea. The research objectives were 1) to identify the managers' leadership types which their workers perceive in a big corporate organization, and 2) to analyze the difference in a degree of workers' happiness according to the types of manager's leadership. To this end, a latent profile analysis was conducted. The research results are as follows. There were four types of leadership: 1) the Elite type which shows perfect ability in each area of self-management, task management, people management, and organization management, 2) the Competent type which has excellent self-management skills, good levels of task management and organizational management skills, but relatively poor people management skills, 3) the Self-centered type with the average levels of self-management, task management and organization management but with the poor level of people management skills, and lastly 4) the Passive type with the average level of self-management, somewhat low levels of task management and organization management skills and the poor level of people management skills. In addition, there was a statistically significant difference in the degree of happiness of workers according to the manager's leadership type. This study is meaningful in that it presented the leadership types of managers in a big company through the latent profile analysis and provided its implications on the workers' happiness.

Skill Set based Competency Management to Strengthen the Capability of Software Development (소프트웨어 개발 역량 강화를 위한 Skill Set 기반의 직무 관리)

  • As industrial software domain is recognizing with one of areas producing high added values, almost software company is running around in securing skilled workers. However, the hiring of software engineers without the consideration of long-term business goals can be caused the lack of manpower again. Also if there is no strategic workforce management plan, it is impossible to gain high performance despite many software engineers have been employed. One of ways to empower the software development capability, this paper identifies the software job functions in detail and proposes how to define the competency profile for the job function. We also propose the career path management scheme using the profile. The proposed workforce management approach which is based on the competency profile, enables to keep the appropriate size of human resources, and to achieve the business performance of software organization.

Study on CMS Application in Hybrid UV Waterless Off-Set Printing (H-UV 무습수 오프셋 인쇄에서 CMS 적용에 관한 연구)

  • This study found fit optimum C, M, Y, K solid density and $CIEL^*a^*b^*$ value to paper & ink as well as check about printing machine state for color management in H-UV waterless off-set printing first. These values applied to GRACoL G7 calibration method. This method is one of color standard management method of printing. GRACoL G7 calibration method is possible stable tone reappearance by controlling gray balance by NPDC(Natural Printing Density Curve). Also, this study used values to make device profile as result that is gotten by application of GRACoL G7 calibration method. This profile was applied to CMS(Color Management System) of H-UV waterless off-set printing, and the result was possible by color management that correspond in printing quality standard of ISO 12647-2 and GRACol 2006 specifications.

  • MND(Ministry of National Defense) has developed MND AF(Ministry of National Defense Architecture Framework) and CADM(Core Architecture Data Model) to guarantee interoperability among defense information systems. TRM(Technical Reference Model) and SP(Standard Profile) product defined in MND AF is core part of Information Technology Architecture and core element of interoperability guarantee. In this paper, we proposed a method which manages technical service and standard of TRM and SP, and developed TRM and SP management system based on the method. TRM and SP management system provides the basis for interoperability among information systems and a more efficient development and management of TRM and SP product.
