컴퓨터·정보(공)학 분야 공학교육인증제 운영성과에 대한 교수들의 인식 분석 및 개선방안 연구 (Study on the Analysis of the Recognition and Improvements by Professors for the CAC(Computing Engineering Committee))

  • This study analyzed outcomes of CAC(Computing Accreditation Committee) program individually applied in the field of computing engineering since 2007, and draw improvements. Literature review through academic journals, survey research and the FGI(Focus Group Interview) were used to accomplish objectives of the study. In addition, the survey research and FGI were done for professors. For the survey research, nationally 20 out of 44 universities which operates the CAC program were investigated, and sample universities were considered by region. FGI was done to analyze the performance and problems of CAC in more detail for 6 experts. Results of the study were follows as; first, CAC program was activated through the Seoul Accord activation support business by government. Second, BSM(Basic Science and Math), engineering major and engineering design education have been strengthened compared with before and after of CAC introduction in the computing engineering field. Third, soft skills needed for students in the college of engineering have been organized in the professional general curriculum, and professors aware of improvement of ability of the students for the skills. The degree of satisfaction for the CAC program has been examined as normal level, but improvement of educational system and the overall quality enhancement of computing engineering education were affected by CAC program. Nonetheless of positive results of CAC program, incentive system for certification program graduates, the expansion of the autonomy of the department, reduction in the amount of self-evaluation report, and support of administrative human resources were suggested for taking root successfully of CAC program.

공과대학 교수의 교육업적평가 지표 개발 연구 (A Study on the Development of Teaching Evaluation Indicators for Faculty in Engineering College)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the current evaluation methods on faculty performance at Korean engineering colleges and develop teaching evaluation indicators for faculty performance. We investigated the faculty performance cases in engineering colleges inside and outside of the Korea, the engineering faculty's awareness of evaluation factors for their educational performance, and the appropriate ratios by indicating factors. Also we developed evaluation indicators for educational achievements to improve the current faculty performance system. 227 engineering faculty members answered our survey questionnaire. The result in the case study on faculty performance evaluation is as follows. First, most items of faculty performance evaluation are about quantitative indicators that can easily conduct objective evaluation. Second, evaluation items of faculty performance are mostly focused on instruction in a classroom. Third, the evaluation by students and administrative managers is more dominant than that by professors or their colleagues, document evaluation than on site evaluation, general evaluation than formative evaluation, and static evaluation than dynamic evaluation. Lastly, Some universities tend to substitute outstanding articles for underperforming instruction. The evaluation indicators that we have developed can be implemented by four types of subjects, such as students, professors, their colleagues, and deans. Also, based on the evaluation indicators, faculties can freely select their evaluation domains depending on the their tracks, such as a teaching track, a research track, or an industry-university cooperation track. The mandatory evaluation fields include teaching, student counselling, teaching portfolio evaluation by mentors or colleagues, class management evaluation by deans, and self-evaluation. The other areas are optional and professors can choose their evaluation factors.

고등학교 기술.가정 교과 '창의공학설계' 단원 신설에 따른 기술교육과 교수의 인식 분석 (Study on Recognitions of Department of Technology Education Professors Introducing 'Creative Engineering Design' Unit of Highschool Technology.Home Economics)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2009 개정 고등학교 기술 가정 교과에'창의공학설계' 단원이 신설됨에 따라 창의공학설계 관련 수업을 먼저 경험한 기술교육과 교수 (professor)의 인식을 분석하여 고등학교 학생들의 '창의공학설계' 수업 방향과 대학 과정의 예비 기술 교사를 대상으로 한 창의공학설계 수업 방향에 대한 정보를 제공하고자 하는 것이다. 설문지는 34개의 문항으로 구성하였고, 16명의 기술교육과 교수에게 수집되었다. 데이터는 SPSS 프로그램으로 분석하였고, 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창의공학설계의 교육 목표에서 문제 해결 능력 응답 평균이 가장 높고 (M=4,44), 공학체험 기회, 창의력 향상 순으로 낮아졌다. 창의공학설계 교육 내 용에 대한 응답에서는 창의 사고기법 교육 평균(M)이 3.94로 가장 높고, 그 다음으로 발표를 위한 자료 작성 교육이 중요하다고 하였다. 둘째, 창의공학설계 교육 범위 응답에서는 아이디어 구상에서 설계, 제작을 선호하고 있고, 교수 학습 방법에서는 설계중심학습법 평균이 가장 높고, 문제중 심법과 문제해결법도 선호하였다. 셋째, 수업 운영에서는 실습 공간 및 실습 재료비 확보, 진행 상황 점검이 필요하며, 평가에서는 작품, 포트폴리오, 발표 등 다양하고 종합된 방법을 선호하였다. 넷째, 대학 과정의 예비 기술 교사 수업에서 작품 수준은 생활 속의 불편한 것을 개선하는 작품을 선호하였고, 작품 제작에서 어려운 점은 전공 지식의 부 족과 제품 구상이었다.

공학교육 입문설계의 운영사례 연구 (한밭대학교 중심으로) (Study on running practices of introductory design for engineering education (based on an example of Hanbat National University))

  • In this paper, we surveyed from students and professors of Hanbat National University to examine the current state of running the introductory engineering design and to derive the direction of future improvements of the subject. A total of 783 students from nine departments and 12 professors who are in charge of the introductory engineering design participated in the present questionnaire evaluation. Outcome categories of the interest in their major and the learning of design theory appears relatively lower than other learning outcomes of the introductory engineering design course. Accordingly, it is determined that the theoretical aspects of designing should be emphasized in performing a team project. The design process, writing and presentation ability, teamwork theory are dealt in more than 70% of the departments, but engineering ethics, patent, visualization education had not been addressed in a number of departments due to their department characteristics. While a lesson outcome of the creativity resulted in the largest for the students, most of the professor feel difficult in increasing the creativity. It is urgent to develope of teaching methods in order to promote the creativity in the introductory engineering design course.

새로운 미디어 환경의 대중강연이 공학교육 발전에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Public Lectures on the Development of Engineering Education in the New Media Environment)

  • This study analyzes the public lecture conducted by a university in Seoul and examined how a public lecture on the emergence of a new media environment could influence the actual field of engineering education. The current public lecture is changing away from past patterns which have been conducted on a daily, irregular and offline basis. Online lectures such as Mooc programs, as well as broadcast programs in the Internet media environment, are becoming increasingly popular with mainstream education. This study focuses on exploring how public lecture experiences of engineering professors have affected the improvement of learner centered education and their communication skills. It also examines how public lecture in the field can affect to enhance public understanding of engineering. The advent of a new media environment is likely to inject new vitality into a college lecture that seems to fall behind in the past. It is highly likely that the reliance on the teaching capabilities of professors become higher according to the emphasis on active learning environment. The genre of public lecture is expected to greatly helpful to expand future engineering education methodologies.

창업보육센터 활성화를 위한 입주목적과 지원요구사항간의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (A study on the correlation between the objectives of being members and their request to activate the operation of Business Incubation Systems)

  • The founding purpose of Business Incubation System is to induce those businessmen who have technology and promising business ideas but are lacking fund, information, and management skill, and to speed up their business establishment and enhance the level of success by providing them with managerial knowledge, production technology, design, and equipment. While some universities made Business Incubation Center to achieve the above purpose, some other universities, especially the local ones, believed that Business Incubation Center, if managed successfully, could be an accelerator picking up the sluggish local economies. This study studied the motivators that let them move in an Incubating Center, their request for support, their level of expert utilization, and the role of head of a Center. This study found a significant level of correlation among the variables such as industrial-educational cooperation, the development of common items, utilization of professors with matching majors, utilization of research professors, and transfer of technology.

공학전공수업에서 플립드 러닝(Flipped Learning) 적용을 위한 설계모형 탐색 (The Instructional Design Model for Applying Flipped Learning in Engineering Courses)

  • 최근 플립드 러닝에 대한 교육분야에서의 관심이 고조됨에 따라 플립드 러닝을 적용해 보고자 하는 공과대학 소속 교수들은 점차 증가 추세에 있다. 그러나 플립드 러닝을 운영하기 위한 수업설계 관련 선행연구는 많지 않다. 이에 본 연구는 공과대학 전공수업에서 플립드 러닝 운영 사례를 기반으로 플립드 러닝 설계 모형을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 메카트로닉스공학과의 기계진동학 교과목을 플립드 러닝으로 운영하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 공과대학 이론중심 교과목의 플립드 러닝 교수법 적용 및 수업설계에 있어 실천적 가이드라인을 제시해 주는데 연구의 의의가 있겠다.

  • 영어가 세계적인 공용어로 인식 되어감에 따라 특히 공학과목의 영어 강의가 전 세계적으로 확산되고 있다. 영어강의의 효과를 극대화하기 위해서는 교수 및 학생의 영어능력과 강의를 지원해주는 시스템이 모두 중요하지만 현실적으로는 이에 대한 별도의 지원이 거의 없는 현실이다. 본 연구는 Y 대학교 공과대학에서 전공과목의 영어강의를 하고 있는 교수들의 영어강의에 대한 지각성향과 개선방향에 대한 의견을 조사를 하였다. 교수들은 자신의 전공영어능력에 대해 긍정적인 평가를 하였으나 영어강의에 대해 스트레스를 가지고 있었다. 무엇보다 학생들의 영어강의에 대한 준비의 부족이 효과적인 영어강의의 방해요인으로 생각하고 있어서 이에 대한 학교당국의 지원이 무엇보다 필요하다고 인식하고 있다.

몽골 대학에서 구글크레스룸 적용 사례 적용 (Case study of Google Classroom in Mongolian University)

  • 본 논문은 몽골대학에서 구글크레스룸(GC)을 온라인 환경으로 이용하고 각 교수님들이 자기 수업에서 GC을 적용한 만족도를 조사하여 몽골대학에서 GC의 효율성을 확인하는데 목적을 두었다. 몽골 D 대학교 14 명의 교수님들이 4주 동안 GC을 활용한 강의 모델을 설계하고 수업을 진행했다. GC은 시간과 공간의 제약을 극복할 수 있기 때문에 직접 대면 학습보다 효율적인 새로운 학습 기회를 제공했다. GC의 효율성을 살펴보기 위해 수업에 참여한 교수님들로부터 설문 조사를 받은 결과는 다음과 같습니다. 협동성 100%(7 명 매우 좋음, 7 명 좋음), 능력별 학습100%(10 명 매우 좋음, 4명 좋음), 수업 용이성 100% (11명 매우 좋음, 3 명 좋음), 적합성 100%(8명 매우 좋음, 6명 좋음), 피드백 용이성100% (7명 매우 좋음, 7명 좋음), 연결 용이성 100%(7명 매우 좋음, 7명 좋음), 빠른 속도성 100%(7명 매우 좋음, 7명 좋음), 학습 효율성 100% (9명 매우 좋음, 5명 좋음), 종이 없는 학습성 100%(8명 매우 좋음, 6명 좋음). 이 수업에 참여한 교수님들은 이와 같은 GC이용에 대한 긍정적인 반응을 보였기에 몽골대학에서 GC의 적용은 적합하고 효율적인 학습을 할 수 있다는 것을 입증 하였다. GC 활용은 전통적인 학습을 깨고, 특히 몽골 교수와 학생들을 위한 새로운 길을 열어줌으로써 교육 기관의 온라인 학습을 강화하고 개선하는 데 더 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이라고 기대된다.

산업계관점 대학평가에 대한 인식 및 개선방안 연구 (A Study on Recognition and Improvement for the Evaluation of University Education on the Perspective of Industry)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the perceptions of college officials about the evaluation of university education on the perspective of industry, to make policy proposals for improvement by analyzing the preparing process of the departments that have received the evaluation of the best universities, In order to achieve the purpose of the study, we conducted literature review, survey studies, and in-depth interviews. The survey was conducted by professors related to this system, and finally the results of 51 responses were used for analysis. The contents of the survey were composed of the recognition, appropriateness, the utilization of the results, the proliferation and improvement plan of the evaluation of university education on the perspective of industry. In-depth interviews conducted 1:1 interviews with 5 professors. The evaluation of university education on the perspective of industry is generally perceived to be a bridge between industry and university education, but there is room for improvement in evaluation criteria, operating methods, and promotion strategies to public.
