Modeling the Productivity of a Breeding Sheep Flock for Different Production Systems

  • Individual production traits, such as reproduction and mortality rates, are partial measures, but may be used to evaluate the performance of different systems by comparing the rate of flock growth and potential offtake. The productivity of two existing sheep production systems, one extensive, one intensive, was compared with an alternative semi-intensive system. The future flock sizes, offtakes and structures were predicted based on the age structure of the flock and age-specific reproduction, mortality and growth rates. The measurements were illustrated with reference to growth of a sheep flock of different age and sex categories. The flock was in a socalled dynamic situation. During the dry period, the digestible organic matter intake of the animals in the intensive system and both extensive and semi-extensive systems was 36 and 20.1 g kg$^{-0.75}$ d$^{-1}$, respectively. During the cold period, the digestible organic matter intake of the animals in extensive, intensive and semi-extensive systems was 34, 34.5 and 41 g kg$^{-0.75}$ d$^{-1}$, respectively. During the dry period, the animals in the both extensive and semi-intensive systems lost in body weight at a rate of 19 g per day, but the rate of gain in body weight of the animals in intensive system was 57 g per day. During the cold period, the animals in extensive, intensive and semiintensive systems gained in body weight at rates of 56, 67 and 97 g per day, respectively. The higher gain of animals during the cold period in the semi-intensive system was related to a sustained higher intake of low-quality roughage and more efficient use of the available feed. Compared to the intensive system, the annual concentrate input of the semi-intensive system was about 48% lower for each livestock unit. The productivity of the semi-intensive system was higher than that of the extensive system.

  • 건설 프로젝트의 단위작업을 기반으로 발생되는 노무자의 작업시간은 진행된 실적물량 정보와 연계되어 생산성 정보로 가공되고 이는 다시 해당 단위작업의 공정관리와 연계됨으로써 프로젝트의 계획 대비 실적을 비교 및 분석할 수 있는 근거자료로 활용 될 수 있다. 또한 이러한 작업정보(노무자의 작업시간 및 실적물량 정보)는 잔여 작업 일정에 대한 예측 및 작업조 운영계획 조정 등 공정관리와 관련된 다양한 원천데이터로 제공될 수 있으며, 실적자료로 축적되어 향후 유사 프로젝트의 공사계획 수립에 유용하게 재활용될 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 PDA, 바코드, 웹 기술 등을 활용하여 단위작업을 기반으로 발생되는 작업정보를 효과적으로 수집하고 이를 생산성 정보로 가공하여 공정 및 공사관리 업무를 지원하는 전산화 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 개발 시스템을 통해 분석 및 축적된 생산성 정보는 단위작업의 공정과 연계되어 잔여작업 일정 예측 및 작업조 조정 등 다양한 공정 지원데이터를 제공할 수 있으며 지식관리 차원에서 향후 유사 프로젝트의 공정계획 수립시 매우 유용한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 건설산업은 타 산업분야에 비하여 체계화되지 못하고 경험 또는 관습에 의한 의사결정이 이루어지는 경우가 빈번하여 생산성 향상이 적극적으로 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 특히, 대단위의 건설생산이 이루어지고 있는 공동주택의 공사에서 생산성 향상을 위한 과학적이고 분석적인 연구가 수행될 경우 그 파급효과가 대단히 클 것으로 기대된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 공사원가에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 공동주택 골조공사 중 주요공종인 거푸집공사의 효율적인 생산성 향상을 위한 공법개선안을 제시하고자 생산성 측정기법으로 워크샘플링을 활용하였다. 기존 거푸집공사에 대하여 작업절차를 분석하고, 각각의 작업별로 생산성을 분석하였다. 기존 작업법에서 분석된 문제점을 기반으로 개선방안을 제안하였다.

  • 본 논문은 Spring 2.5와 Seam 2.0 프레임워크의 연관된 객체지향 소프트웨어 개발에 대한 지침과 평가 지표를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 경량 컨테이너 아키텍처는 EJB 아키텍처와 같이 무겁지 않으면서도 EJB 컨테이너의 모든 가능을 제공하는 구조이다. 현재까지 경량 컨테이너 아키텍처로 현업에서 가장 많이 사용되고 잘 알려진 아키텍처로 Spring과 Seam 프레임워크이 있다. 그러나 동일한 플랫폼 상에서 Spring과 Seam 프레임워크의 개발 생산성 비교분석은 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Java EE 플랫폼 상에서 개발된 자바 블루프린트 Pet Store 프로그램을 동일한 개발 플랫폼 환경을 기반으로 JPetStore 주문시스템을 Spring 2.5와 Seam 2.0에서 설계하고 구현한 후, 개발 플랫폼 환경별 객관적인 소프트웨어 개발 생산성 비교 및 표준화에 따른 평가 지침을 제공하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 meta-analysis를 통해 TJP의 발현량과 육계의 생산성 간의 상관관계를 살펴보았다. TJP의 발현량은 생산성의 향상과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 occludin의 발현이 육계의 생산성과 가장 큰 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. Occludin 발현량 조절과 장 점막 건강이 육계 생산성 향상을 위한 영양 관리 전략 지표로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Effects of grain-based pecking blocks on productivity and welfare indicators in commercial broiler chickens

  • Objective: This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of grain-based pecking blocks on productivity and welfare status at two commercial broiler welfare-certified farms. Methods: Production and welfare indicators were assessed at two farms (designated Farm A and B). Both farms had two windowless houses with forced tunnel-type ventilation and housed broilers at stocking densities of approximately 16.7 birds/m2 (Farm A) and 16.8 birds/m2 (Farm B). Each house was divided into two or three equal sections and was provided with or without pecking blocks. Grain-based pecking blocks, measuring 25 × 25 × 25 cm, were given to broilers in both farms at 1 block per 1,000 birds. Various parameters including productivity (body weight and flock uniformity), corticosterone levels (in fecal droppings and feathers), footpad dermatitis, hock burn, feather dirtiness, gait score, litter quality, body surface temperature, and volatile fatty acids in fecal samples were assessed at 26 days of age, whereas litter quality was analyzed at 13 and 26 days of age. Results: There were no significant effects of providing pecking blocks on productivity (body weight and uniformity), fecal and feather corticosterone, welfare indicators (i.e., footpad dermatitis, hock burn, feather cleanliness, and gait score), and litter quality (i.e., moisture, nitrogen, and pH). No differences in body surface temperature between the control and enrichment treatments were noted in Farm B, but body surface temperatures of the head (p = 0.029) and legs (p = 0.011) in the enrichment vs. control group were elevated in Farm A. Butyrate concentration in the enrichment vs control group was higher in Farm B (p = 0.023), but this effect was not detected in Farm A. Conclusion: It is concluded that grain-based pecking blocks did not affect performance and welfare indicators. Further studies are warranted to elucidate the potential impact of grain-based pecking blocks on gut health indicators.

사출금형의 급속냉각시스템 개발 (Development of Rapid Cooling System for Injection Mold)

  • The Injection molding is used more than 70% of total production in plastic products. The injection molding process has 4 processes such as filling, packing, cooling and ejecting. It spends most of times in the cooling process. Therefore, it is important to control the mold temperature in producing plastic products. The cooling system and time affect the product's quality and productivity. Especially, cooling time has about 60% of total injection cycle time. Therefore, we can improve a productivity by shortening cooling time. In this study, the rapid cooling system was developed and performed a efficiency test. This system could refrigerate coolant to $1^{\circ}C$ and had to need 10 minutes for normal operating. However, if response time of temperature controller and sensor will be increased, the performance of this system will increase.

The test object can be material, component, plant, earth, environment etc. Total qualify management, total productivity management, concurrent engineering and many other essential ingredients of success in plant engineering and manufacturing industry are dependent on NDE far success and good returns on investments.

얼터네이터 풀리의 제조를 위한 사출성형공정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Injection Molding Process for Manufacturing of Alternator Pulley)

  • So far, an alternator pulley has been formed by cold forging and casting with a metal due to the necessity of its high strength. Various advantages such as the light weight, the low cost, and the high productivity can be obtained by the injection molding process using engineering plastics. Engineering plastics have an excellent performance in the characteristics off strength vs. weight, a good forming ability and a productivity. The object of this study is to develop an alternator pulley, which has been made with a metal, using the injection molding process based on Taguchi methods. A sink mark is considered as a characteristic parameter to improve the quality. The FEM Simulation CAE tool, Moldflow, is used for the analysis of injection molding process.

  • This research shows that as the use of IT spreads, the Investments of IT must be accompanied by the innovation of the business process of an organization to increase productivity. It examines closely to the relations between these by presenting a theoretical formula, with related-theories at the basis, that shows the characteristics of IT Infrastructure and heightens the results of organization. In previous researches, various results co-exist in presenting the direct relativeness between IT Infrastructure and results of organization. But in this research, a parameter called business process has been included making it possible to analyze even the indirect effects to the results of organization. Also, the difference and relativity between the IT Infrastructure and business process groups according to the company environment factor has been proved.
