Differences by Selection Method for Exposure Factor Input Distribution for Use in Probabilistic Consumer Exposure Assessment

  • Background: The selection of distributions of input parameters is an important component in probabilistic exposure assessment. Goodness-of-fit (GOF) methods are used to determine the distribution of exposure factors. However, there are no clear guidelines for choosing an appropriate GOF method. Objectives: The outcomes of probabilistic consumer exposure assessment were compared by using five different GOF methods for the selection of input distributions: chi-squared test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test (K-S), Anderson-Darling test (A-D), Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Bayesian information criterion (BIC). Methods: Individual exposures were estimated based on product usage factor combinations from 10,000 respondents. The distribution of individual exposure was considered as the true value of population exposures. Results: Among the five GOF methods, probabilistic exposure distributions using the A-D and K-S methods were similar to individual exposure estimations. Comparing the 95th percentiles of the probabilistic distributions and the individual estimations for 10 CPs, there were 0.73 to 1.92 times differences for the A-D method, and 0.73 to 1.60 times differences (excluding tire-shine spray) for the K-S method. Conclusions: There were significant differences in exposure assessment results among the selection of the GOF methods. Therefore, the GOF methods for probabilistic consumer exposure assessment should be carefully selected.

중국 중학교 교사들의 수행평가에 관한 관심도와 실행 수준 분석 - 북경시 중심으로- (Analysis of Teachers' Concern and Levels of Use on Performance Assessment in China Middle School)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze middle school teachers' concern about and implementation degree of performance assessment in China. The research questions are as follows: First, what kind of concern is held by middle school teachers who implement performance assessment? Second, is there any significant difference in stages of concern the teachers on performance assessment according to their gender, education level and teaching career? Third, which level of use is shown by middle school teachers who implement performance assessment? Fourth, what is the correlation between middle school teachers' Stages of Concern and Levels of Use on performance assessment? This study was conducted based on a Concerns-Based Adoption Model (Hall, 1973; CBAM) that viewed teachers as the most primary factor of the execution of innovation, in this case, performance assessment. Performance assessment is assessment based on observation and judgement (Stiggins, 1994), and require test takers to complete a process or produce a product in a context that closely resembles real-life situations. The subjects of this study were randomly sampled from 120 middle school teachers throughout Bei-Jing, China. The questionnaires were distributed to them by mail, and they were asked to return their questionnaire by mail. The collect data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 18.0 program in terms of frequency, correlation, or MANOVA. Frequency analysis was used to analyze concern of middle school teachers on performance assessment. To gain an frequency of the individuals in each stage, we regarded the stage in which a teacher had his/her highest score as his/her relevant stage. Correlation analysis was adopted to identify the correlation between teachers' stage of concern and level of use. To analyze the difference of the concern of China middle school teachers on performance assessment according to their individual background variables such as gender, education level, and teaching career, MANOVA was performed.

한약재 추출물 함유 앰플의 주름개선 효능에 관한 기초 임상연구 (The Efficacy of Ampule Containing Herbal Extract for Improving Skin Wrinkles in Women)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of ampule containing herbal extract(Ulmus davidiana, Ginkgo biloba, Perilla ocymoides, Morus alba, Glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice), and Angelica gigas) on skin wrinkles in adult women with facial wrinkles. Methods : A total of 12 women, 30 to 46 years of age, with wrinkles in the corner of eyes, applied ampule containing herbal extract twice daily for up to 12 weeks. Silicon replicas of right crow's feet area and antecubital fossa were taken before use of test product and at 4, 8 and 12 weeks. The replicas were analyzed by optical profilometry with Skin Visiometer SV600. The wrinkle and roughness parameters, R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 were calculated and statistically analyzed. In addition, a subjective evaluation of product efficacy was conducted by patient's assessment. Results : The mean values of all the skin roughness parameters were decreased at 4-week, and decreased significantly at 8 and 12-week except R4 at 12-week after test product use. The subjective evaluation of wrinkle by patient's assessment was also improved. However, one patient noted stiffness of face after use of test product. Conclusions : These study suggested that the application of ampule containing herbal extract twice daily for 12 weeks may effectively improve the facial wrinkles without severe side effect.

디자인 요소의 상대적 주목성과 제품 선호 반응의 상관관계 (The Relationship between the Relative Attention of Design Elements and Product Preference Response)

  • 본 연구에서는 제품의 선호도 평가를 위한 정보 탐색과정에서 영향을 미치는 요소에 대한 인지반응의 특성 파악을 기본 목적으로 하였다. 그리고 그 특성과 제품 선호도의 상관관계를 제품 사용 경험의 측면에서 고찰하였다. 이를 위하여, 휴대폰과 제안형 제품사진을 실험 자극으로 선정하여 두 단계의 실험을 진행하였다. 첫 번째 실험에서는 제시된 각 제품사진을 관찰한 후에 선호하는 순서를 정하여 배열하도록 하였다. 두 번째 실험에서는 앞에서 선정한 선호도 1순위와 10순위의 제품사진에 대하여 선호도 평가 시 최우선적으로 주목한 부분을 표시하고, 그 부분에 대하여 설명하도록 하였다. 실험 결과로부터 두 가지 결론이 도출되었다. 첫 번째, 제품의 사용 경험에 의한 경험적 기억 정보는 인지 대상의 선호도 평정(評定)에 있어, 그 인지 대상에 포함되어 있는 다양한 구성 요소에 대한 해석적 반응을 활성화한다. 두 번째, 제품의 비사용 경험은 선호도와 관계없이 인지 대상에 포함되어 있는 심미적 요소를 지각적으로 수용하는 반응을 유발한다.

수면 제품 실증을 위한 수면-각성 평가에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Sleep-Wake Assessment for Substantiation of Sleep Products)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 수면산업의 발전을 위해 수면제품 실증의 국내외사례와 평가 방법들에 대해 리뷰해 보았다. 국외에는 실증을 위한 회사나 단체가 비교적 체계적으로 제품을 검증하려고 하고 있지만 기관에 따라 다소 다른 방법을 활용하고 있었고, 표준화된 실증가이드가 확립되지는 않고 있었다. 국내의 경우는 객관적인 실증을 포함하는 평가는 사실상 전무하였다. 수면제품 실증을 위한 수면-각성 평가의 평가는 제품 자체에 관한 전문가 평가 및 사용자의 효과성 평가가 필요할 것이며 사용자 대상 평가는 주관적, 객관적 수면-각성 평가 및 일주기 리듬 평가 방법이 활용될 수 있겠다. 보다 정확한 검증을 위해 무작위 배정법, 대조 용품 활용법, 교차실험설계 등의 디자인도 활용될 수 있다.

허리보호 코르셋 디자인을 위한 제품 분석 및 착용 평가 (Product Characteristics Assessment and Wearing Evaluation of Waist-protection Corset Design)

  • To enhance the design and comfort of waist-protection corsets, this study analyzed the product characteristics of five types of posture-correction corsets that are available commercially. Additionally, subjective evaluation of the corsets was conducted on women aged 20 to 60 years, in terms of design, material preference, fit, comfort, degree of correction, freedom of movement, tightness, and convenience of front fastening. Following product analysis, the five corset types were divided into: two soft, one semi-hard, and two hard types in terms of the degree of elongation. As a result of pattern analysis, the soft type was designed to improve fit by reflecting the body curvature, whereas the semi-hard and hard types were relatively flat. Through the wearing sensation assessment, the hard type manufactured by company S was the best in terms of design, material, fit, comfort, correction degree, and freedom of movement. The soft type was average in design, material, and fit while relatively poor in the correction degree and tightness. The results indicated that soft materials, flexible bones with appropriate tension, patterns designed to snugly fit the body with large curvature at the top and bottom for better inflection, and adjustable support belts that can be double-fixed are crucial elements in improving the corset design to boost the comfort of wearing. These study results are helpful in the development of waist-protection corsets with excellent wearing comfort and design appreciated by customers.

햄 및 소시지류에서의 Clostridium perfringens에 대한 정량적 미생물 위해평가 (Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment of Clostridium perfringens on Ham and Sausage Products in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 햄 및 소시지류에서의 Clostridium perfringens에 대한 정량적 미생물 위해평가(Quantitative microbial risk assessment; QMRA)를 국제기준(Codex)의 원칙과 지침에 따라 수행하였으며, 오염수준에 대한 직접적인 분석결과와 현재의 국내 유통환경, 관련제품의 특성, 섭취량 및 소비행태 등을 반영한 노출평가용 "product-retail-consumption pathway" frame-work 모델을 구성하였고, 이를 바탕으로 엑셀(Excel)기반 노출평가용 시뮬레이션 모델을 개발하여 제시하였다. 개발된 모델을 시뮬레이션 프로그램인 @RISK를 활용하여 위해(risk) 수준을 산출하였으며, 그 결과 국내에서 1일 1인이 햄 및 소시지류의 섭취를 통한 Cl. perfringens에 의한 식중독발생 확률은 평균적으로 $3.97{\times}10^{-11}{\pm}1.80{\times}10^{-9}$으로 추정하였다. 또한 본 연구에서 수행한 QMRA결과를 바탕으로 현재수준에서의 한계점과 미래에 더욱 발전된 국내 QMRA 연구 및 활용을 위한 제언을 추가하였다

뇌졸중 환자에서 Fugl-Meyer 평가척도와 보행속도, Timed Up & Go 검사와의 상관관계 (Correlations of Fugl-Meyer Assessment Scale, Gait Speed, and Timed Up & Go Test in Patients With Stroke)

  • The purposes of this study were to find correlations among Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale, gait speed, and Timed Up & Go test (TUG) and to predict gait ability from subscales of Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale. The study population consisted of 30 stroke patients referred to the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Bundang Jaesang General Hospital. All subjects were ambulatory with or without an assistive device. All participants were assessed on Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale and gait speed (m/s), TUG (s). The data were analyzed using independent t-test, Pearson product moment correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression. The results revealed that all items of Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale, except passive joint range of motion were significantly correlated with gait speed and TUG. In particular, sensation score, lower extremity motor and coordination score have a significant correlation with gait speed and TUG (p<.05). The sensation score and lower extremity motor score were important factors in comfortable gait and maximal gait speed. Their power of explanation regarding comfortable gait and maximal gait speed were 63.0% and 65.0%, respectively. The sensation score and lower extremity coordination score were important factors in TUG. Their power of explanation regarding TUG was 55.0%. These results showed that Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale is significantly correlated with gait speed and TUG. Therefore Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale is an appropriate assessment tool to predict gait ability of patients with stroke. Further study about gait speed and TUG by change of Fugl-Meyer Assessment score is needed using a longitudinal study design.

군수품 정부품질보증 위험성 평가제도 개선을 위한 제언 (Proposal for Government Quality Assurance Risk Assessment System for Military Supplies)

  • Purpose: Nowadays, the risk assessment system is widely used in many industrial and public areas to reduce the possible risks. The system is used to determine the priorities of the government quality assurance works in Defense Agency for Technology and Quality. However, as the risk assessment system is used for other purposes, there are some items that need improvement, and in this study, we propose improvement plans by benchmarking the risk assessment systems of other institutions. Methods: In this paper, first, the procedures of risk assessment system used in many industrial sites were reviewed, and how each institution specialized and applied the system. Afterwards, by benchmarking various risk assessment systems, an improvement plan on how to operate the risk assessment system in the case of government quality assurance for centrally procured military supplies was presented, and practical application cases were presented to prove the usefulness of the improvement plan. Results: The proposed risk assessment system differs from the existing system in five major aspects. First, inputs, outputs, and key performance indicators were specified from the systematic point of view. Second, risk analysis was analyzed in four dimensions: probability of occurrence, impact, detection difficulty. Third, risk mitigation measures were classified, control, transfer, and sharing. Fourth, the risk mitigation measures were realized through document verification, product verification, process verification, and quality system evaluation. Finally, risk mitigation measures were implemented and the effectiveness of the risk mitigation measures was evaluated through effectiveness evaluation. Conclusions: In order for the risk assessment procedure proposed in this study to be applied to actual work, it is necessary to obtain the consent of the person involved in the work due to the increased time for risk identification and preparation of the government quality assurance log, and a change in the information system that performs the actual work is required. Therefore, the authors of this study plan to actively perform internal seminar presentations and work improvement suggestions to apply these research outputs to actual work.

명화(名畵)에서 유발된 감정이 차용된 제품과 제품속성 평가에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Art-provoked Affect on Product and Product Attributes Evaluation)

  • 최근, 제품 디자인의 차별화 방법 중 하나로 제품에 명화(名畵)를 차용하는 이른바 '명화 마케팅(masterpiece marketing)'이 각광받고 있다. 본 연구는 시장에서 널리 사용되고 있는 명화 마케팅에 체계적이고 과학적인 방법을 적용하여, 명화에서 유발되는 감정이 제품 속성 평가에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 밝혀내고자 하였다. 본 연구는 명화가 가지는 본질적 기능인 감상자의 정서 유발에 초점을 맞추어, 차용된 명화에서 유발되는 감정(affect)이 해당 제품 평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가에 대한 가설을 세웠다. 보다 구체적으로 기존 감정 연구에서 제시된 감정의 두 축, 쾌(pleasure), 환기(arousal)의 수준에서 차이가 나는 명화가 각각 제품에 차용되었을 경우, 소비자의 제품 평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가에 대해 제품의 유형(실용재/ 쾌락재)과 각 속성(실용적 속성/ 쾌락적 속성)에 대한 평가의 차이를 통해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 긍정 감정을 야기하는 명화에 대한 선호도가 부정감정을 야기하는 명화에 대한 선호도보다 높았으며, 제품 유형에 관계없이 긍정감정을 유발하는 명화를 제품에 차용하였을 경우 부정감정을 유발하는 명화를 제품에 차용했을 때보다 제품태도가 더 높게 나타났다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 명화가 유발하는 감정이 제품태도에 미치는 영향은 명화에 대한 선호도에 의해 매개됨을 밝혀냈다. 감정의 또 다른 한 축인 환기 수준이 높은 명화를 실용재인 우유에 차용했을 경우, 쾌락적 속성에 대한 평가가 높아진 반면, 환기 수준이 낮은 명화를 차용했을 경우에는 실용적 속성에 대한 평가가 높아졌다. 그러나 쾌락재인 초콜릿의 경우 이러한 차이가 발견되지 않아 제품에 차용된 명화에서 유발되는 감정 수준(환기 수준)이 제품 유형에 따라 각각 다른 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 다음과 같은 점에서 의의가 있다. 첫째, 시장에서 널리 사용되고 있는 명화 마케팅에 체계적이고 과학적인 방법을 적용하여, 명화에서 유발되는 감정이 제품 속성 평가에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 밝혀내었다. 둘째, 긍정/부정 감정에 초점을 두어 진행되었던 기존 연구에서 더 나아가 감정의 또 다른 축인 환기가 제품 속성평가에 차별적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인하였다.
