All human spatial behavior and psychological stress are affected by the 'Privacy'of each space. This Paper deals with the theoretical review of 'privacy'concept and establishment of 'Privacy Model' that can be a useful design tool. 'Privacy Index(Pl)' model of 10 point scale, which is based on 'Hierarchic system of Privacy' in urban spaces by Chermeyeff and Alexander(1963), was established as a hypothetical model in this study. And'Activity Suitability', based on each hierarchy of primacy level, was investigated at each site to construct the validity of 'Privacy Model'. Total 67 sites were investigated by on.-site questionnaire in 3 types of outdoor spaces, (Park), (Campus), and (Garden) respectively. The major results are as follows; 1. The P7rivacy level of earth spaces, distributed from to in and . and (Groun Private> spaces are dominant In , spaces are dondnant 2, Privacy level, based on , showed higher privacy level than that of . This means the criteria of each privacy level should be modified for more specific space. The . could be derived from the (Activity Suitability) of each space. 3.The cognition of privacy level. by user group, showed no significant difference in dach group by sex, age, education, and job, respectively.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to deduct the factors for explaining the economic behavior of an Internet user who provides personal information notwithstanding the concern about an invasion of privacy based on the Information Privacy Calculus Theory and Communication Privacy Management Theory. Design/methodology/approach This study made a design of the research model by integrating the factors deducted from the computation theory of information privacy with the factors deducted from the management theory of communication privacy on the basis of the Dual-Process Theory. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, this study confirmed that the Privacy Concern about forms through the Perceived Privacy Risk derived from the Disposition to value Privacy. In addition, this study confirmed that the behavior of an Internet user involved in personal information offering occurs due to the Perceived Benefits contradicting the Privacy Concern.

The purpose of this study is to research the phychological determinant factors of window design and the relationshiops between preferences over those factors. Field surveys and questionnaires, focused on residents in apartment houses, were used to research the residents' preferences. Sunlight inflow, view privacy, and spaciousness can be assumed as major environmental psychological factors related to windows. But some difficulties in applying all those factors' requirements in a window design lie in the fundamental mutual contradiction such as providing both optimum privacy and openness. Those difficulties can be solved to a certain degree through the process of comparison between those factors based on residents' preference tendency in a specific space. Other results of this research are as follows: 1) The preference research shows that sunlight inflow stands first in living room, and followed by view, privacy, and spaciousness: privacy ranks first in bedroom and followed by sunlight inflow, view, and spaciousness: the elderly over sixties prefer the sunlight inflow first both in the living room and the bedroom. 2) Satisfaction degrees on sunlight inflow, privacy, spaciousness are increasing along with the dwelling height, while the view is not showing any relationship with the dwelling height. 3) Natural elements, as the object of view, are preferred to artificial elements such as buildings and roads. 4) Windowsill heights in bedrooms have relevance to the state of satisfaction with sunlight inflow, privacy, and view, while they show no relationship with spaciousness.

Recently, as personal information has been used as data, various new industries have been discovered, but cases of personal information leakage and misuse have occurred one after another due to insufficient systematic management system establishment. In addition, services that use personal information anonymously and anonymously have emerged since the enforcement of the Data 3 Act in August 2020, but personal information issues have arisen due to insufficient alias processing, safety measures for alias information processing, and insufficient hate expression. Therefore, this study proposed a new PbD principle that can be applied to the pseudonym information life cycle based on the Privacy by Design (PbD) principle proposed by Ann Cavoukian [1] of Canada to safely utilize personal information. In addition, the significance of the proposed method was confirmed through a survey of 30 experts related to personal information protection.
This study attempts to suggest new directions of urban multi-family housing design in the recent era of information, in which the representation of publicity and privacy of the housing reflects new meanings and relationships of the current digital society. The study examines cases of Dutch multi-family housing and investigates the meanings and relationships of publicity and privacy in the building as well as unit design of the housings. Borneo-Sporenburg housing development is a good example that suggests new interpretation and design solution for low-rise, high-density multi-family housing. Thus, this study analyzes street patterns, facade design, and ways of housing unit combination in Borneo-Sporenburg housing and concludes as follows. First, public space in Borneo-Sporenburg housing, which was designed differently from hierarchical and centripetal organization of modern architecture, is divided into small units and spread into the inside, which provides high potential for personal control of space and personal programming of space by space choices. Second, street pattern and facade design of Borneo-Sporenburg housing provide visual publicity and privacy simultaneously as they maintain unity as a whole as well as articulate individual unit in many different ways and provide clues to neighboring. Streets as a public domain have self-controlled boundaries for residents and introduce voluntary use-programs for residents. Third, facades of the housing have no inter-mediate space or common space, and confront streets directly. Space in-between is composed inside the facade and extends into the streets by residents' own choices. Fourth, privacy and individuality of the housing is strengthened. Units of the housing have individual entrances, unique plan type and complicated combination of space that all together emphasize individuality of units, however they are not often notified from the outside.
Purpose This study provided empirical support for the model that explain the formation of privacy concerns in the perspective of Information Boundary Theory. This study investigated an integrated model suggesting that privacy concerns are formed by the individual's disposition to value privacy, privacy awareness, awareness of privacy policy, and government legislation. The Information Boundary Theory suggests that the boundaries of information space dependends on the individual's personal characteristics and environmental factors of e-commerce. When receiving a request for personal information from e-commerce websites, an individual assesses the risk depending on the risk-control assessment, the perception of intrusion give rise to privacy concerns. Design/methodology/approach This study empirically tested the hypotheses with the data collected in a survey that included the items measuring the constructs in the model. The survey was aimed at university students. and a causal modeling statistical technique(PLS) is used for data analysis in this research. Findings The results of the survey indicated significant relationships among environmental factors of e-commerce websites, individual's personal privacy characteristics and privacy concerns. Both individual's awareness of institutional privacy assurance on e-commerce and the privacy characteristics affect the risk-control assessment towards information disclosure, which becomes an essential components of privacy concerns.

Privacy-preserving collaborative filtering schemes are becoming increasingly popular because they handle the information overload problem without jeopardizing privacy. However, they may be susceptible to shilling or profile injection attacks, similar to traditional recommender systems without privacy measures. Although researchers have proposed various privacy-preserving recommendation frameworks, it has not been shown that such schemes are resistant to profile injection attacks. In this study, we investigate two memory-based privacy-preserving collaborative filtering algorithms and analyze their robustness against several shilling attack strategies. We first design and apply formerly proposed shilling attack techniques to privately collected databases. We analyze their effectiveness in manipulating predicted recommendations by experimenting on real data-based benchmark data sets. We show that it is still possible to manipulate the predictions significantly on databases consisting of masked preferences even though a few of the attack strategies are not effective in a privacy-preserving environment.
This study proposes the structural model of inpatient's satisfaction with their room. Relationship among patients' privacy, patients' stress, and patients' satisfaction were evaluated and were discussed. Survey research followed the literature review, in which the subjects answered questions of the 12 items for the patients' privacy requirements, 10 items selected from the HSRS, and an item of patients' satisfaction. A total of 120 copies were analyzed through the statistical process using the SPSS Win Program 20.0 and SEM by the AMOS 20.0. Results and conclusions are as follows: (1) the inpatients' privacy requirements was subdivided into 'the reserve factor', 'the territoriality factor', and 'the solitude factor'. (2) The inpatients' stress level was subdivided into 'the relationship factor', 'the unfamiliarity factor', and 'the control factor'. (3) The model of relationship among the subjects' privacy requirements, stress level and their satisfaction with the patients' room showed that the subjects' stress level affected their satisfaction with the patients' room directly and the subjects' privacy requirements gave an direct and indirect effect on their' stress level and an indirect effect on their satisfaction with patients' room.
As the mobile device and broadband wireless internet such as WiBro, HSDPA is widely spreading, various types of advertisement and services based on personal location information can be provided. However, with convenience supported by these services, it is possible to be increased an invasion of privacy such as personal location and moving pattern. In this paper, we analysis an essential element for protection of privacy related on location information in mobile environment and propose location privacy protocol for managing location privacy self-control. And we design and implementation prototype of location privacy self-control system which is able to manage user's location privacy condition oneself using the proposed location privacy protocol.
