  • This paper focuses on the problem of scheduling wafer lots with limited waiting times between pairs of consecutive operations in a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility. For the problem of minimizing total tardiness of orders, we develop a priority rule based scheduling method in which a scheduling decision for an operation is made based on the states of workstations for the operation and its successor or predecessor operation. To evaluate performance of the suggested scheduling method, we perform simulation experiments using real factory data as well as randomly generated data sets. Results of the simulation experiments show that the suggested method performs better than a method suggested in other research and the one that has been used in practice.

  • It can be made a definition that scheduling is a imposition of machinery and equipment to perform a collection of tasks. Ultimately scheduling is an assessment of taking order for which would be perform. So it is called "sequencing" in other words. In a job shop scheduling, the main object is to making delivery in accordance with the due date and order form customer, not to producing lots of quantity with minimizing mean flow time in a given time. Actually, in a company, they concentrate more in the delivery than minimizing the mean flow time. Therefore this paper suggest a new priority dispatching rule under consideration as below in a n/m job shop scheduling problem with due date. 1. handling/transportation time, 2. the size of customer order With this algorithm, we can make a scheduling for minimizing the tardiness of delivery which satisfy a goal of production.roduction.

  • In this paper, we propose a machine learning-based method for supporting resource management of IoT software platforms in a multi-modal sensing scenario. We assume that an IoT device installed with a oneM2M-compatible software platform is connected with various sensors such as PIR, sound, dust, ambient light, ultrasonic, accelerometer, through different embedded system interfaces such as general purpose input output (GPIO), I2C, SPI, USB. Based on a collected dataset including CPU usage and user-defined priority, a machine learning model is trained to estimate the level of nice value required to adjust according to the resource usage patterns. The proposed method is validated by comparing with a rule-based control strategy, showing its practical capability in a multi-modal sensing scenario of IoT devices.

  • Though Digital Map Ver. 2.0 is adequate to GIS, the possibility to gain information from its external form and the ease of producing paper map had retrogressed. In this research, concerned with the problems, we plan to make Digital Map Ver. 2.0, which satisfies the conditions of GIS. It will have geometrical and logical data structure, and also possess informative ability as much as that of Ver. 1.0. For the study, the process to analyze the topographic code, color, code priority order, etc. of paper relief map, digital map Ver. 1.0, and digital map Ver. 2.0 was taken. For the topographical feature with diverse expression, we changed the portrayal of digital map Ver. 2.0 to make it fit the regulations of map portrayal. At the point of topographic code priority order, the rule is to arrange them in the same order as the real territory. However, we made a special code in the case of any change of the locational order. According to the property of this study, we observe the regulations of map portrayal, for the elements related to subjective sense, such as colors. And we give priority on the data construction when the portrayal of topographical feature and the schema of GIS database system are contradictory.

  • Supply chain management is a strategic thinking which enhances the value of supply chain and adapts more promptly for the changing environment. For the seamless partnership and value creation in supply chains, information and knowledge sharing and proper partner selection criteria must be applied. Thus, the partner selection criteria are critical to maintain product quality and reliability. Each part of a product is supplied by an appropriate supply partner. The criteria for selecting partners are technological capability, quality, price, consistency, etc. In reality, the criteria for partner selection may change according to the characteristics of the components. When the part is a core component, quality factor is the top priority compared to the price. For a standardized component, lower price has a higher priority. Sometimes, unexpected case occurs such as emergency order in which the preference may shift on the top. Thus, SCM partner selection criteria must be determined dynamically according to the characteristics of part and its context. The purpose of this research is to develop an OWL model for the supply chain partnership depending on its context and characteristics of the parts. The uncertainty of variable is tackled through fuzzy logic. The parts with preference of numerical value and context are represented using OWL. Part preference is converted into fuzzy membership function using fuzzy logic. For the ontology reasoning, SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) is applied. For the implementation of proposed model, starter motor of an automobile is adopted. After the fuzzy ontology is constructed, the process of selecting preference-based supply partner for each part is presented.

  • With high interest in the patient satisfaction of emergency medical services, there is a lot of effort into improving the process of Emergency Department(ED) utilizing the technology of Internet of Things(IoT). In this study, the core technologies of smart ED are examined and a decision support algorithm for medicine tasks is proposed. The proposed algorithm minimizes the decision risks such as task selection accountability, patient complaints, care delays and longer stay time. It can reduce the nurses burnout and improve the patient care with kindness and consideration. Ultimately, patient satisfaction, job satisfaction and professional identity of nurses can be increased. The comparative study was carried out by simulation in terms of the average length of patient stay in a simplified hypothetical ED system. In all the cases, the proposed algorithm was shown to perform substantially better than the other rule.

  • The number of automobiles are continuously increasing in Korea since 1990's and it causes frustrating commuting traffic and holyday traffic. Meanwhile, the obsolete traffic signal control system is still under static control based on the aggregated traffic statistics thus it is not sufficiently adaptive in real world traffic situation that changes in real time. Thus, in this paper, we propose an adaptive signal control system using fuzzy control technology that can react to real time traffic situations. The method computes the priority of signal phases based on the number of waiting automobiles and occupying time on intersection using fuzzy membership functions. The phase with highest priority obtains "proceed" signal. Also, the duration of this "proceed" signal is determined based on the ratio of number of waiting automobiles of given phase and total number of waiting automobiles on intersection. In experiment, we show that the proposed fuzzy control system is better than the static control system for all sorts of traffic congestion situations by simulation.

  • The profile shops in shipyards produce section steels required for block production of ships. Due to the limitations of shipyard's production capacity, a considerable amount of work is already outsourced. In addition, the need to improve the productivity of the profile shops is growing because the production volume is expected to increase due to the recent boom in the shipbuilding industry. In this study, a scheduling optimization was conducted for a parallel welding line of the profile process, with the aim of minimizing tardiness and the number of set-up changes as objective functions to achieve productivity improvements. In particular, this study applied a dynamic scheduling method to determine the job sequence considering variability of processing time. A Markov decision process model was proposed for the job sequence problem, considering the trade-off relationship between two objective functions. Deep reinforcement learning was also used to learn the optimal scheduling policy. The developed algorithm was evaluated by comparing its performance with priority rules (SSPT, ATCS, MDD, COVERT rule) in test scenarios constructed by the sampling data. As a result, the proposed scheduling algorithms outperformed than the priority rules in terms of set-up ratio, tardiness, and makespan.

  • The current smart lighting is shaped to offer the lighting environment suitable for current context, after identifying user's action and location through a sensor. The sensor-based context awareness technology just considers a single user, and the studies to interpret many users' various context occurrences and conflicts lack. In existing studies, a fuzzy theory and algorithm including ReBa have been used as the methodology to solve context conflict. The fuzzy theory and algorithm including ReBa just avoid an opportunity of context conflict that may occur by providing services by each area, after the spaces where users are located are classified into many areas. Therefore, they actually cannot be regarded as customized service type that can offer personal preference-based context conflict. This paper proposes a priority-based LED lighting control system interpreting multiple context conflicts, which decides services, based on the granted priority according to context type, when service conflict is faced with, due to simultaneous occurrence of various contexts to many users. This study classifies the residential environment into such five areas as living room, 'bed room, study room, kitchen and bath room, and the contexts that may occur within each area are defined as 20 contexts such as exercising, doing makeup, reading, dining and entering, targeting several users. The proposed system defines various contexts of users using an ontology-based model and gives service of user oriented lighting environment through rule based on standard and context reasoning engine. To solve the issue of various context conflicts among users in the same space and at the same time point, the context in which user concentration is required is set in the highest priority. Also, visual comfort is offered as the best alternative priority in the case of the same priority. In this manner, they are utilized as the criteria for service selection upon conflict occurrence.

  • Though electronic commerce has grown rapidly in international trade, there is no basic consensus for its concept and rule applied. So WTO has done practice of not imposing customs duties on digital contents and been researching overall on electronic commerce through Work Program while many countries of the world attempt to obtain their interests by stipulating chapter of electronic commerce in their FTAs. This paper has compared and analysed chapter of electronic commerce in all the FTAs which Korea has signed and enforced. Korea's FTA stipulates commonly no customs duties, the other chapter's priority when chapter of electronic commerce conflicts the other chapter, electronic authentication, protection of personal information and consumer protection. But it has weak consistency and framework as it has different provisions for the objects of electronic commerce respectively, reserves classification & applied rule for electronic commerce, stipulates differently on non discrimination treatment and so on. Korea should participate in the research of international organization including WTO and cope actively and elastically by analysing the provisions of electronic commerce of the other countries' FTA such as USA, EU, CHINA and so on.
