구동축과 연관된 차량의 부밍 소음 저감을 위한 중공축 개발 기법 (Development Technique of Tubular Shaft for Reduction of Booming Noise in Vehicle Interior Caused by Drive Shaft)

  • In order to reduce the booming noise caused by first bending mode of drive shaft, this paper proposes a simulation program for prediction of the bending mode frequency of any tubular shaft. This program consists of a pre-processor for modeling of geometrical shape of drive shaft and applying the boundary conditions of various joints, a processor for constructing of global finite element matrices using beam elements and an eigen-solver based on MATLAB program. Using this simulation program, the effective and accurate FE model for a shaft attached in vehicle can be obtained by aid of database for stiffness of each joint. Thus the resonance frequencies and mode shapes of a shaft can be calculated accurately. Because the effect of the resonance on interior noise can be verified, more improved shaft can be proposed at the early stage of design.

Experimental and numerical analysis of mixed mode I/III fracture of sandstone using three-point bending specimens

  • In this work the mixed mode I/III fracture of sandstone has been studied experimentally and numerically. The experimental work used three-point bending specimens containing pre-existing cracks, machined at various inclination angles so as to achieve varying proportions of mode I to mode III loading. Dimensionless stress intensity factors were calculated using the extended finite element method (XFEM) for and compared with existing results from literature calculated using conventional finite element method. A total of 28 samples were used to conduct the fracture test with 4 specimens for each of 7 different inclination angles. The fracture load and the geometry of the fracture surface were obtained for different mode mixities. Prediction of the fracture loads and the geometry of the fracture surface were made using XFEM coupled with a cohesive zone model (CZM) and showed a good comparison with the experimental results.

4-point bending test system을 이용한 Cu-Cu 열 압착 접합 특성 평가 (Characterization and observation of Cu-Cu Thermo-Compression Bonding using 4-point bending test system)

  • 3차원 칩 적층 접합에 사용하기 위한 Cu-Cu 금속 저온 접합 공정을 위하여 접합 온도 및 플라즈마 표면 전처리에 따른 열 압착 접합을 수행 하였다. 4점굽힘시험과 CCD 카메라를 이용하여 Cu 접합부의 정량적인 계면접착에너지를 평가하였다. 접합 온도 $250^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$, $350^{\circ}C$에서 각각 $1.38{\pm}1.06$(상한값), $7.91{\pm}0.27$(하한값), $10.36{\pm}1.01$(하한값) $J/m^2$으로 접합온도 $300^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 계면접착에너지 5 $J/m^2$ 이상의 값을 얻었다. 접합 온도 $300^{\circ}C$ 이하 낮은 온도에서 접합하기 위해 Cu-Cu 열 압착 접합 전 Ar+$H_2$ 플라즈마로 $200^{\circ}C$에서 2분간 표면 전처리 후 $250^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 열 압착 접합할 경우 계면접착에너지 값이 $6.59${\pm}0.03$(하한값) $J/m^2$로 표면 전 처리하지 않은 시험편에 비해 접합 특성이 크게 증가 하였다.

  • Excellent environmental durability and handy installation procedure as well as high specific strength and stiffness have introduced fiber-reinforced polymeric composite materials into the civil and architectural engineering field. This study presents the considerably enhanced strength characteristics of the mortal beams by being reinforced with epoxy-bonded carbon fiber sheets(CFS). Three point bending and Charpy impact tests were performed on both of bare and reinforced mortar specimens. The influences of length, and the number of reinforcing plies were investigated. Strength reduction due to pre-existent notch was lessened dramatically. The acoustic emission(AE) measurement revealed the progressive damage process in reinforced specimens.

  • In recent years, hydroforming technology has been one of the most important technology in automotive industry in the points of weight saving, cost reduction and qualify improvement. However, compared with traditional metal forming technology, hydroforming has much fewer information in experience and empirical knowledge. But we don't have my sufficient time and money to produce hydroforming products using real blank directly Therefore Simulation is essential in hydrofonrung technology development. In this paper, we simulate the side member as the tubular hydroforming technology. The manufacturing process of side member' consists of pre_bending, pre_forming, and hydroforming of a thin tube. Variables such as internal pressure, end feeding, and tool geometry are optimized to improve the forming safety. And we simulate side member according to several lubricant conditions. from those simulations, we find that strain distributions can be reduced well by internal pressure and end feeding control, and lubrication is the most important thing in hydroforming process.

  • Cable domes deform very largely because of the characteristics of flexible hybrid system and pre-tension, and include geometrical non-linearity in those structural behavior. Especially wind load is more dominant than seismic load, because cable domes are flexible structures whose bending stiffness is very small and self-weight is very light. Therefore, in this paper, the Modified Stiffly Stable Method is applied to analyze the nonlinear dynamic behavior of cable domes and compared these results with ones of the $Newmark-{\beta}$ Method which is generally used. The Seoul Olympic Gymnastic Arena is taken as an numerical example and three kinds of models with giving each different intensity of pre-tension are selected. And dynamic nonlinear behavior of cable domes are analyzed by artificial spectrum of wind velocity wave which is similar to actual wind loads.

  • The Pulse-Pre Pump Brillouin Optical Time Domain Analysis (PPP-BOTDA) technique is introduced to implement the multi-direction strain measurement. The monitoring principle is stated. The layout scheme of optical fibers is proposed. The temperature compensation formula and its realizing method are given. The experiments, under tensile load, combined bending and tensile load, are implemented to validate the feasibility of the proposed method. It is shown that the PPP-BOTDA technique can be used to discriminate the multi-direction strains with high spatial resolution and precision.

  • NVH issue at idle condition is one of the major concerns of Passenger and Commercial Vehicle including Sports Utility Vehicle Especially steering wheel vibration at idle condition is a very complex problem and affected by firing frequency of the engine, stiffness of a steering wheel system and the body to which the steering wheel system is attached. To avoid vibration mode coupling between each system of a vehicle, experimental and analytical method has been used at the pre-prototype stage. The resonance frequency of the body and the frame has been decoupled by CAE and the resonance frequency of steering wheel system has been set in between the 1st bending frequency of body and frame. These Results has been used as design guidelines tot the prototype drawing stage. The experimental verification of tile modified pre-prototype vehicle shows good results of the vibration mode decouple. Modal test of prototype vehicle also confirms the vibration mode decouple between each system.
