Geogrid reinforced soil structures with segmental block facing have been increased since 1990's, because of the convenience of installation and the flexible appearance. In this paper, the behavior of the segmental reinforced retaining wall was analysed with the results of field monitoring. The height and length of reinforced wall are 12m and 25m, respectively. The field measurement equipments are horizontal and vertical earth pressure cells, settlement plate, strain gauge, inclinometer, and displacement pin. Based on the field monitoring, the horizontal earth pressure was approximately 0.3times higher than that of the theoretical method and the maximum tensile strength of reinforcement was 26.2kN/m. The displacement of facing wall was 23mm at the point of 7.1m height of the wall and toward the wall facing. The results of the study indicate that the segmental reinforced retaining wall is in a stable condition because of good compaction & reinforcement effects, and long period of construction time. Finally, the computer program of SRWall is very useful tool to design the segmental reinforced retaining wall.
Recently, the construction industry commonly uses FRP as a reinforcement material because of its material advantages. FRP attached reinforcement has various advantages such as high strength, stiffness, excellent durability and construction practicability comparing to its weight. However, external attachment of FRP is water-tighted with low water permeable material, not draining water, probably causing damages on a permanent structure. The study manufactured it through pultrusion and examined GP(glass fiber panel) of which material-mechanical properties are almost same as the existing FRP but durability and attachment performance are better by stationary experiments, testing load-deflection curve, destruction types and load-deflection relation under repetitive loading test. As a result of 2,000,000 fatigue tests, it did not result in the destruction and showed excellent permanent attachment and durability as it displays significantly low compressive strain of concrete.

Twin-hulls frequently incur structural damage at connecting members between the hull and deck induced by pitching motions during voyages. so, reasonable reinforcement is necessary around vulnerable spots such as corner knuckle, the chine bottom and inner hull. Since guidelines for structural design are not clear, engineers often respond by reinforcing plate thickness, changing stiffener sizes and reducing frame spacing, etc. These members constitute about 85 % of the longitudinal dimensions of the ship, so it is necessary to locally reinforce certain points to minimize weight stress, and also solve construction cost problems while securing the freeboard margin. Therefore, we developed a new program by analyzing the structural design procedures for the twin car-ferries based on Korean Register of Shipping (KR) High Speed Craft Rules, identifying items that need to be added. In order to ensure the reliability of buckling estimations for procedures and design programs, we conducted a comparative study with other standards and confirmed that differences were minimal.
An improved unbonded-type column strengthening procedure using wire rope and T-shaped steel plate units was proposed. Eight strengthened columns and an unstrengthened control column were tested under concentric axial load. The main variables considered were the volume ratio of wire rope and the flange width and configuration of T-shaped steel plates. Axial load capacity and ductility ratio of columns tested were compared with predictions obtained from the equation specified in ACI 318-05 and those of conventionally tied columns tested by Chung et al., respectively. In addition, a mathematical model was proposed to evaluate the complete stress-strain relationship of concrete confined by the wire rope and T-plate units. Test results showed that the axial load capacity and ductility of columns increased with the increase of the volume ratio of wire rope and the flange width of T-plates. In particular, at the same lateral reinforcement index, a much higher ductility ratio was observed in the strengthened columns having the volume ratio of wire rope above 0.0039 than in the tied columns. A mathematical model for the stress-strain relationship of confined concrete using the proposed strengthening procedure is developed. The predicted stress-strain curves were in good agreement with test results.
After being laminated with a combination of glass fiber reinforced plastic and plywood, the GFRP laminated plate was densificated for 1 hour at $150^{\circ}C$ with pressure of $1.96N/mm^2$. A partial reinforced beam was produced by attaching the 5 GFRP laminated plates to the joint of glulam and the column. In addition, the column to beam joint was produced by using reinforced laminated wooden pin which was made of GFRP sheet and plywood, fiber glass reinforced cylindrical-LVL column. The joint was made of round log, glulam and drift pin as the reference specimen, and its moment resistance was evaluated. As a result, the strength performance of specimens with partial reinforced beams were 1.8 times stronger than the reference specimen on average. Furthermore, rupture was neither occurred on partial reinforced beam nor column. Toughness and stiffness of joints were also fine. The GFRP sheet reinforced laminated plate showed better reinforcement effect than GFRP textile reinforced one. GFRP sheet was inserted into each layer of laminate, and it showed good condition in rotation-angle and strength, therefore it is the most appropriate to reinforce the part of the beam.
To consider improvement effect of the bearing capacity and economical efficiency in using the geotextile, on foundation reinforced with the geotextile, several experiments accomplished by the plate-penetrometer on a model foundation. The results obtained are as follows : 1. It appears that the BCR is increased steeply only to 3 layers of the geotextile but nearly isn't more than 3 layers. 2. It appears that the BCR is increased during the U/D's increment but the variations of it nearly isn't more than U/D=0.8. 3. It appears that the BCR is increased steeply to the value of ${\Delta}Z/D$=0.6 but variations of it nearly isn't more than 0.6. 4. It appears that the BCR is decreased almost proportionally to the value of B/D= 2.5 but it's ratio of decrease is decreased remarkably more than 2.5.

Nowadays, three-dimensional computer added design(3D CAD) tool are widely and actively used for design of mechanical machine. Because using the tool is more effective to understand design concept and to collaborate with other operation than using two-dimensional design tool. In this study, the 3D CAD tool which is called I-DEAS was applied for three-dimensional modeling of main parts and assembling of modeled parts for identification the entire shape of a injection molding machine. In addition, a study was also performed regarding reduction for the weight of main plates for saving production cost and energy in the machine. A finite element method(FEM) program in I-DEAS tool was used for the improvement study. First, the current main plates were structural analysed and then the plate deformations, weak regions and stress distributions were graped. By the FEM results, the 2nd improved designing of the plates was conducted such as reinforcement or slimming of the plate wall thickness. The 2nd structural FEM was performed for verification of the redesigned plates and then the FEM results were compared with the 1st FEM's result. The weight of the main plates were averagely reduced approximately 3 - 7%. By these results, it was seemed that the improved plates have a useful availability.

Flat plate system has many advantages, story height reduction, a term of works shortening and changeableness of space, etc. However structures become a tendency of higher stories and when we use RC column, the size of column grow larger. For this reason the use of CFT column is increasing more and more. Accordingly, this study carried out the nonlinear finite element analysis. As a result of analysis moment strength of the connection increased but ductility decreased as the top reinforcement ratio in th effective width increased. And moment strength and ductility of the connection decreased as gravity load ratio decreased. In the case that shearhead length is not more than 0.27m, the effectiveness of shearhead length on the moment strength and ductility of the connection were small relatively to other variables. Initial stiffness and moment strength of connection increased as slab thickness increased
This paper presents a numerical study on the flat plates in deep basements, subjected to out-of-plane floor load and in-plane compressive load due to soil and hydraulic lateral pressure. For nonlinear finite element analysis, a computer program addressing material and geometric nonlinearities is developed. The validity of the numerical model is established by comparison with existing experiments performed on plates simply supported on four edges. The flat plates to be studied are designed according to the Direct Design Method in Korean Building Code for Structural Concrete. Through numerical study on the effects of different load combinations and loading sequence, the load condition that governs the strength of the flat plates is determined. For the plates under the governing load condition, parametric studies are performed to investigate variations of the strength with reinforcement ratio, aspect ratio, concrete strength, and slenderness ratio. Based on the numerical results, the floor load magnification factor is proposed.

It is known that the fluoric resin has the most outstanding properties in the extremely acidic environment of high temperature. However, this resin is the thermal hardening type that needs long time heat treatments above $250^{\circ}C$. It's impossible to use in situ in the extremely acidic environment such as a huge FGD ductworks or industrial chemical tanks. Furthermore, even the natural hardening type fluoric coatings which can be hardened less than $120^{\circ}C$ can not be applied to the highly acidic environmental plants because of its chemical resistance. In this study, new fluoric coatings that has excellent thermal resistance, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance has been developed in order to solve above problems and to be applied to the large plant structures in the field. These newly developed coatings are organic and inorganic composite type that have fluoric rubber(100 wt%), fluoric resin(5~50 wt%), oxalates(5~30 wt%), inorganic fillers mixed with plate-type and bulk-type solids(20~150 wt%), hardeners(0.5~5 wt%), and hardening hasteners(0.1~3 wt%). The best chemical and physical properties of these coatings are acquired by variation of adhesive reinforcement agents, dispersants, leveling agents. Mixing ratios of plate-type and bulk-type inorganic fillers influence the thermal properties, abrasive resistance and chemical infiltration properties of coatings. The mixing control is also very important to have homogeneous surface and removing inner voids of coatings.
