R&D 조직의 지식 경영 활동이 R&D 성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of R&D Knowledge Management Activities on R&D Performances)

  • According to knowledge-based view, knowledge is an essential strategic resource for a firm to retain sustainable competitive advantage. As knowledge is created and disseminated throughout the firm, the firm can enhance its capability to respond to new and unusual situations. Thus, a lot of companies actively manage their knowledge and intellectual capital. Especially, knowledge management (KM) activities in R&D organizations play a critical role in enhancing R&D performances such as innovation capability. In this regard, this study develops a theoretical model to examine the effects of R&D KM activities on R&D performance. The research model posits KM participation, knowledge management system (KMS) use, and community of practice (CoP) as the main activities of R&D KM. This study proposes that R&D shared knowledge quality and R&D KM satisfaction play a mediating role between R&D KM activities and its performance. The proposed research model was tested by using survey data collected from 248 employees in an R&D department. PLS (partial least squares) was employed for the analysis of the data. The findings of this study showed that R&D KM activities play a significant role in enhancing R&D performance. The findings revealed that R&D shared knowledge quality is not significantly related to R&D performance, while R&D KM satisfaction significantly influences R&D performance. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings were described.

  • Today a knowledge management systems (KMS) is an enabler for gaining competitive position in the market environments. However, it is just recognized as a conceptual management paradigm not as realistic management philosophy in an organization. A firm just accustomed to deal with tangible assets such as inventory and buildings based on the cumulated experiences. However, the firm often struggle with how to define and apply the knowledge management system into its real business activities such as business strategy and productivity. For example, one of textile company, E-land, in Korea found the way how the firm utilize intelligent assets of its employees to overcome the performance differences among the employees in an organization to increase their ability. Managers in an organization should fully understand and try to figure out the concept of knowledge management systems to implement KMS more efficiently and effectively. Even though lots of previous knowledge management literature proposed several unique knowledge management process models, they have their own terms, process sequences, or different approaches. There are three common knowledge management processes: knowledge creation, knowledge store and search, knowledge sharing process. In this study, a new KM process theoretical framework based on the previous researches is developed. This study will guide to those who will adopt or implement of KMS in the organization in near future.

  • As a knowledge-based economy is emerging, knowledge management (KM) is being rapidly disseminated in both academic circles and the business world. Accordingly, how to effectively manage knowledge is vital to the survival and advance of a company, particularly in project-based industries such as construction. For these reasons, construction companies have adopted IT-based Knowledge management systems (KMS), which is the technology platform and infrastructure that an organization employs to support knowledge management. However, many construction companies have spent resources on developing a KMS that only focus on codification. Furthermore, small and medium-sized companies have limited resources to afford extensive investments. This research addresses the problems found in the current KMS and develops a web-based construction knowledge management portal (CKMP). To achieve these objectives, a case study is conducted and requirements for implementing KM are identified. Based on the identified requirements, this paper builds CKMP using Expert Index (EI), blog, ontology based knowledge retrieval, and wikiblog. The most important functionality of CKMP is their fundamentals to synchronize and support KM process. In order to validate the CKMP, a pilot test with actual users is conducted, and the usability of the system is compared with the current systems. This study is relevant to both the construction industry and academia, as it provides a means of enhancing the performance of KM.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an e-Learning Program designed to enhance novice nurses's performance ability Method: The e-Learning program was designed for novice nurses before beginning to work in a hospital using a KMS(Knowledge Management System). This study was carried out from February 2006 to April 2007. The program had progressive steps including design, pilot test & modification, contents development, program application and evaluation. After the program design and pilot testing, the learner's satisfaction was analyzed. Result: The program site is http://kms.emc.ac.kr titled, 'Cyber Education Center'. The sixteen part course has been developed as follows: blood sugar test, skin test, insulin test 1, insulin test 2, blood culture, blood sampling, heat therapy, cold therapy, glycerin enema, preparation of operation, oxygen therapy, suction technique, transfusion, foley catheterization and aseptic technique. The overall learner's satisfaction score was 4.08 out of 5 points. Conclusion: E-Learning could be useful for education and nursing work. This method may be effective for clinical nurses.

  • 지식관리가 조직 성과에 중요한 조건으로 인식되면서, 조직들은 지식관리 정책 및 기술에 대한 투자를 증가시키고 있다. 지식관리가 성과를 도출하기 위해서는 개인이 보유하고 있는 좋은 지식을 지속해서 공유하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구는 개인의 지식관리시스템을 통한 지식공유 의도에 미치는 긍정적, 부정적 원인을 제시하고, 조직 공유 분위기가 미치는 영향을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구는 선행연구를 통하여 연구 모델 및 가설을 제시하였으며, 지식관리시스템을 도입한 조직에 근무하는 조직원을 대상으로 설문지 기법을 통해 417개의 표본을 확보하였다. 그리고 구조방정식모델링을 실시하여 가설 검증을 하였다. 분석 결과, 지식관리시스템에 대한 유용성과 이용 용이성이 지식공유 의도에 긍정적 영향을 주었으며, 업무 갈등과 모호성이 부정적 영향을 주었다. 지식공유 분위기는 기술수용모델과 업무 스트레스에 각각 선행 요인으로서 영향을 주었다. 또한, 업무 스트레스는 유용성과 이용 용이성의 지식공유 의도에 미치는 영향을 조절하였다. 결과는 지식관리시스템 도입 시 고려해야 할 개인의 긍정적, 부정적 동기를 제시하였으며, 조직 차원에서 추진해야 할 방향성을 제시한 것에서 시사점을 가진다.

다양한 산업에서의 키 관리 시스템 비교 분석 (Comparison of key management systems across different industries)

  • 디지털 환경이 복잡해지고 사이버 공격이 정교해지면서 데이터 보호에 대한 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 데이터 유출, 시스템 침입, 인증 우회와 같은 다양한 보안 위협이 증가하면서 안전한 키 관리가 대두되고 있다. 키 관리 시스템(Key Management System, KMS)은 암호 키 생명주기 절차 전체를 관리하며, 여러 산업에서 사용되고 있다. 공공, 금융을 포함하는 다양한 산업의 환경에 맞는 요구 사항을 고려한 키 관리 시스템이 필요한 상황이다. 본 논문은 대표적인 산업에서 사용하는 키 관리 시스템을 비교 분석하여, 산업별 키 관리 시스템의 특성을 도출하는 것이 목적이다. 연구 방법은 문헌 및 기술 문서 분석, 사례 분석으로 정보를 수집하여, 산업 분야별 비교 분석을 진행하였다. 본 논문의 결과는 산업 환경에 맞는 키 관리 시스템을 도입하거나 개발 시 실질적인 가이드를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. 한계점은 분석한 산업 분야가 부족하고, 실험적 검증이 부족하였다. 이에 향후 연구에서 다양한 분야의 키 관리 시스템을 포함하여, 실험을 통한 구체적인 성능 테스트를 진행하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 자외선(UV, ultraviolet) 및 적외선(IR, infrared) 센서를 결합함으로서 불이 연소하면서 방출하는 빛의 파장을 활용한 영상신호를 검출하는 결합형 불꽃영상 검출시스템은 적외선 센서와 자외선 센서 기반의 신호처리 알고리즘 설계방안을 제안한다. 또한, 설계한 듀얼모드인 결합형 불꽃영상 검출시스템은 단독형 적외선 또는 자외선 센서 기반의 영상검출 알고리즘의 검출 성능결과를 비교한다.

e-비즈니스의 유통기업 성장성 및 수익성 기여 효과분석 (The Effect of E-Business on Firm's Growth and Profitability in the Distribution Industry)

  • Purpose - This research aims to examine the effect of e-business adoption on firm's growth and profitability in the distribution industry. The value added from the distribution industry acts as the cost of other industries. As the distribution industry develops, its stage becomes shorter and the distribution margin becomes smaller. Therefore, e-business is expected to have a different effect on the distribution industry than other industries. Research design, data and methodology - The previous research generally used e-business adoption as an independent variable and firm's performance as a dependent variable. This study elaborated the model using a dynamic panel model that includes the performance variable of the previous year as an independent variable. By employing system GMM (Generalized Method of Moments), the endogeneity problem in the dynamic panel model can be solved. For the analysis, I extracted the distribution companies as the raw data in the National Statistical Office's Business Activity Survey over the period 2006 to 2012. Results - The growth rate of firms adopting e-business was 0.299%p higher than that of the non-adopter. However, only ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), KMS (Knowledge Management System) and SCM (Supply Chain Management) contributed positively to the growth rate. In the case of profitability, it was 0.04%p higher than the distribution companies that did not adopt e-business. ERP and LMS (Learning Management System) improve profitability, while SCM reduces profitability. Consequently, while ERP improves both growth and profitability, SCM improves growth but reduces profitability. In addition, KMS improves firm's growth only, and LMS does only profitability, showing that each e-business has a differentiated effect. Conclusions - Since the distribution industry has different characteristics from manufacturing and other service industries, the introduction of e-business may not guarantee the growth and profitability of distribution companies. Careful introduction considering the characteristics of the distribution industry is required. In particular, it is necessary to select an e-business meeting the characteristics and needs of a distribution company, and thereafter, it is required for the company's own efforts to internalize it within the system.

한국조폐공사 BSC 시스템 구축 사례 (A Case Study on BSC System Implementation of Korea Minting & Security Printing Corporation)

  • 본 연구는 공공기관의 BSC 도입 및 효율적인 운영에 대한 참고자료를 제시하기 위하여 KMOSCO(Korea Minting & Security Printing Corporation, 한국조폐공사)의 BSC 기반 전략적 성과관리 시스템의 구축사례를 분석하였다. 한국조폐공사의 BSC 기반 내부성과관리제도의 개선과정은 1999년에 도입한 EVA 내부평가제도, 2001년과 2002년의 BSC 도입과 직무분석, 그리고 2004년에 구축된 BSC 통합성과관리시스템으로 구분된다. 한국조폐공사는 BSC의 도입과정에서 CSF 및 KPI 선정에 대한 구성원의 협력을 유도하고 조직의 특성을 고려한 성과지표를 구성함으로써 BSC의 개념을 적절하게 반영하고자 노력하였다. 이는 타 공공기관이 BSC를 도입할 경우에 반드시 고려해야할 점으로 시사하는 바가 매우 크다. 조폐공사는 BSC의 도입과 운영을 통하여 구성원의 전략에 대한 이해도 제고, 성과관리와 평가시스템 개선 등의 가시적인 성과를 나타낸 것으로 평가된다. 이 과정에서 ERP를 기반으로 하여 EIS, KMS 등과 BSC가 효율적으로 연계되는 공사의 정보시스템은 BSC의 운영에 중요한 역할을 수행한 것으로 볼 수 있다. 한국조폐공사는 현재 BSC 시스템의 운영 초기에 있으며, 따라서 종합성과보상시스템, 목표 초과달성에 대한 감점제도, BSC와 예산제도의 연계 등 운영방안의 효율성에 대한 평가가 필요할 것으로 본다.
