A new key generation scheme is proposed to support partial encryption and partial decryption of data in cloud computing environment with a minimal key-related traffic overhead. Our proposed scheme employs a concept of hash tree chain to reduce the number of keys that need to be delivered to the decryption node. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through simulation.

Mobile cloud computing is a very attractive service paradigm that outsources users' data computing and storage from mobile devices to cloud data centers. To protect data privacy, users often encrypt their data to ensure data sharing securely before data outsourcing. However, the bilinear and power operations involved in the encryption and decryption computation make it impossible for mobile devices with weak computational power and network transmission capability to correctly obtain decryption results. To this end, this paper proposes an outsourcing decryption algorithm of verifiable transformed ciphertext. First, the algorithm uses the key blinding technique to divide the user's private key into two parts, i.e., the authorization key and the decryption secret key. Then, the cloud data center performs the outsourcing decryption operation of the encrypted data to achieve partial decryption of the encrypted data after obtaining the authorization key and the user's outsourced decryption request. The verifiable random function is used to prevent the semi-trusted cloud data center from not performing the outsourcing decryption operation as required so that the verifiability of the outsourcing decryption is satisfied. Finally, the algorithm uses the authorization period to control the final decryption of the authorized user. Theoretical and experimental analyses show that the proposed algorithm reduces the computational overhead of ciphertext decryption while ensuring the verifiability of outsourcing decryption.

There are currently various file encryption solutions for encrypting and storing files on disk. However, the existing file encryption solutions handle encryption and decryption all at once by file or directory. In this paper, we propose a system call supporting partial encryption function of the file. The user sets the encryption information with the system call interface at a portion where encryption of the file data is desired. And then the user writes file data, the data is encrypted and stored. Also if the user sets decryption information and reads the file data, the necessary part is decrypted by applying the set information. For the proposed system call, It consists of inspection module, management module, encryption module, decryption module, and HMAC module as per required system call. And it was implemented on the Linux environment. Also the operation of implemented system call was verified on the development board, and the performance was analyzed by measuring performance speed.

There are currently various file encryption systems and applications for encryption and storage of file on disk. However, the existing file encryption solutions handle encryption and decryption all at once by file or directory. In this study, we propose a system call supporting partial encryption function of the file. The user sets the partial encryption of the file by using system call interface, and writes the contents. And then the data is encrypted and stored on the disk. Also if the user sets the decryption and reads the data, the necessary part of data is decrypted by applying the user setting. According to the user setting, only the necessary part is encrypted and stored on a storage medium. As a result, the information in a secret level can be saved efficiently and securely.

Recently, as network and computer technologies are growing rapidly, most of business transactions are performed in cyber world. In spite of many advantages, the most concerns in Electronic Commerce are the information security matters, and the cryptosystem has been claimed as one of the proper means to settle this problem. In this paper, a partial encryption/decryption algorithm has been in-troduced to show the efficiency against the conventional method in which all the data are completely encoded. In our proposed scheme, the multimedia data can be efficiently encoded in a short time providing good data security. For example, the MP3 data can be securely protected with 10% encryption in our scheme. Moreover, 1he shuffling process at the end of partial encryption procedure provides higher level of data security.
Consider RSA with N = pq, q < p < 2q, public encryption exponent e and private decryption exponent d. We first study cryptanalysis of RSA when certain amount of the Most Significant Bits (MSBs) or Least Significant Bits (LSBs) of d is known. The basic lattice based technique is similar to that of Ernst et al. in Eurocrypt 2005. However, our idea of guessing a few MSBs of the secret prime p substantially reduces the requirement of MSBs or LSBs of d for the key exposure attack. Further, we consider the RSA variant proposed by Sun and Yang in PKC 2005 and show that the partial key exposure attack works significantly on this variant.

As used product transactions are currently on the rise, the demand for transactions of secondhand digital content will grow in the future; thus, learning to make secure transactions while avoiding cyber attacks becomes an important issue. In this paper, we combine the new buyer's secret key, the new buyer's watermark to embed in resold digital content, and the reseller's encrypted watermark, which can prove legal ownership of the reseller. Using the privacy homomorphism property of RSA and exponential calculus, the original seller of digital content can verify the legality of the reseller and the new buyer. We also reduced the load of encryption/decryption digital content using a partial encryption/decryption algorithm to make our protocol more efficient and practical. In the proposed protocol, the seller is not able to conduct piracy and easily frame any other innocent secondhand buyer when a case of piracy is found. In fact, piracy can be clearly traced using the privacy homomorphism property of RSA and the embedded watermark mechanism. Further, in the proposed protocol, the seller himself can trace the piracy using exponential calculus. Since it is unnecessary to trust third party participation, the conspiracy problem is resolved and the new buyer is not required to participate in the dispute. Moreover, the seller, reseller and new buyer can simultaneously benefit from the secondhand transaction.

Certificateless public key cryptography is a technique that can solve the certificate management problem of a public key cryptosystem and clear the key escrow issue of ID-based cryptography using the public key in user ID. Although the studies were actively in progress, many existing schemes have been designed without taking into account the safety of the secret value with the decryption key exposure attacks. If previous secret values and decryption keys are exposed after replacing public key, a valid private key can be calculated by obtaining the partial private key corresponding to user's ID. In this paper, we propose a new security model which ensures the security against the key exposure attacks and show that several certificateless public key encryption schemes are insecure in the proposed security model. In addition, we design a certificateless public key encryption scheme to be secure in the proposed security model and prove it based on the DBDH(Decisional Bilinear Diffie-Hellman) assumption.
Cloud computing is an attractive solution that can provide low cost storage and powerful processing capabilities for government agencies or enterprises of small and medium size. Yet the confidentiality of information should be considered by any organization migrating to cloud, which makes the research on relational database system based on encryption schemes to preserve the integrity and confidentiality of data in cloud be an interesting subject. So far there have been various solutions for realizing SQL queries on encrypted data in cloud without decryption in advance, where generally homomorphic encryption algorithm is applied to support queries with aggregate functions or numerical computation. But the existing homomorphic encryption algorithms cannot encrypt floating-point numbers. So in this paper, we present a mechanism to enable the trusted party to encrypt the floating-points by homomorphic encryption algorithm and partial trusty server to perform summation on their ciphertexts without revealing the data itself. In the first step, we encode floating-point numbers to hide the decimal points and the positive or negative signs. Then, the codes of floating-point numbers are encrypted by homomorphic encryption algorithm and stored as sequences in cloud. Finally, we use the data structure of DoubleListTree to implement the aggregate function of SUM and later do some extra processes to accomplish the summation.

In this paper, we design searchable image encryption system to provide the privacy and authentication on streaming media based on cloud computing. The searchable encryption system is the matrix of searchable image encryption system by extending the streaming search from text search, the search of the streaming service is available, and supports personal privacy and authentication using encryption/decryption and CBIR technique. In simple simulation of post-cut and image keyword creation, we can verify the possibilities of the searchable image encryption system based on streaming service.
