  • This study is to examine the mediating effects of parenting efficacy the relation between the self-esteem and child career support behavior(encourage, meddle, non-involvement) of mothers of multicultural families. To this end, data from the 7th year's multicultural youth-parent panel were used, and descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted on the data of 1,188 married immigrant women. The result of the analysis showed that self-esteem (β=.277) and parental efficacy (β=.134) were positively significant as factors affecting the child career support behavior of mothers of multicultural families. In addition, parental efficacy was found to provide partial mediation in the relationship between self-esteem and child career support behavior. Based on this, this study suggested policy and practical measures to improve parental efficacy of mothers of multicultural families and to conduct desirable child career guidance.

  • This study is to analyze the relationship between Taeoom(workplace bullying) and organizational performance and to investigate the mediating effects of organizational silence between the relationship among nurses. In order to test the causal and mediating effects, this study employs the mediation analyses with regression. The sample is 273 from A university hospital in Seoul. Based on the results, Taeoom is basically, negatively associated with organizational performance. Acquiescence silence has played a full mediating role in the relationship between Taeoom and organizational performance. That is, Taeoom is not directly associated with organizational performance; however, it has a negative effect on organizational performance through acquiescence silence. Defensive silence plays a partial mediating role in the interdependence relationship. The implications of this study are that the negative effects of Taeoom would increase organizational silence and performance directly and indirectly; therefore, it is necessary to provide institutional prevention of Taeoom.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the status of performance on standard precautions among nursing students and to examine the mediating effects of internal health locus of control on the relationship between awareness and performance on standard precautions of hospital-acquired infection control. Methods: The participants in this study were 134 nursing students. The measurements included a standard precautions awareness and performance scale, and a multidimensional health locus of control scale. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and simple and multiple regression techniques. Mediation analysis was performed by the Baron and Kenny's method and Sobel test. Results: The mean score of standard awareness, standard performance, and internal health locus of control about standard precaution were $174.30{\pm}9.08$; $169.48{\pm}12.04$; and $20.43{\pm}2.82$; respectively. There was a positive correlation between standard awareness and performance (r=.414, p<.001). Also, standard awareness was significantly correlated with internal health locus of control (r=.413, p=.014). Internal health locus of control showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between awareness and performance. Conclusion: The results indicate a need to improve the internal health locus of control of nursing students. Therefore, an internal health locus of control improvement program should improve performance on standard precautions for patients and themselves.

It was found that the innovation and self-determination of small business owners had a positive (+) significant effect on financial and non-financial performance. In addition, it was confirmed that the degree of competition in the market had no significant effect on financial and non-financial performance, and that the growth of the market had a significant positive (+) effect on financial and non-financial performance. In the case of the mediating effect of digital literacy, it was confirmed that innovation had a partial mediating effect on non-financial performance, and digital literacy had a complete mediating effect on the effect of market competition on financial and non-financial performance. Finally, it was confirmed that digital literacy has a partial mediating effect on the effect of market growth on non-financial performance. Looking at the results, it can be seen that the entrepreneurial characteristics of small business owners, which correspond to innovation and self-determination, directly act as a factor to increase business performance, and market characteristics indirectly increase digital literacy to achieve results. Based on the above research results, the implications and limitations of the study and future research directions were presented together.

  • Physical resources are central to coping with economic hardships for people in low-income, yet life experiences such as resource loss and gain and their relationships with a sense of well-being received scarce attention. Thus this study investigated levels of loss and gain of physical resources, economic stability and well-being of 254 adults who participated in welfare-to-work programs; correlations and paths among these variables; and direct and indirect effects of economic stability by structural equation modeling. Major results were: first, the levels of resource loss and gain were below a moderate level and the level of gain was significantly higher than the loss level. Second, in the relationships with both economic stability and well-being, resource loss showed negative correlations, while resource gain showed significantly positive correlations. Third, the negative direct effect of resource loss either on the economic stability or on the well-being respectively was significant and the indirect effect on well-being through economic stability was also significant. Finally, the direct effect of resource gain on either economic stability or well-being was significant; and the indirect effect of resource gain on well-being was also significant. Thus in both models for resource loss and gain, the indirect effect of economic stability was significant, which supports partial mediation model. Based on these results, implications for social work practice and research were examined, particularly for enabling social work practice to utilize information regarding resource loss and gain, economic stability, and a sense of well-being that were embedded in the community life of people in low-income.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of safety culture on the safety consciousness and safety behaviors of manufacturing workers, and to suggest ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve safety consciousness and safety behavior. To achieve this research objective, out of 176 industrial complexes in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province registered with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, workers at 50 industrial complexes, including the Korea Export-Industrial Complex and Seoul's Onsuji, were subject to research. The implementation of this survey distributed 300 questionnaires through the mid-level managers of manufacturers and environment safety and health managers over a period of one month from August 1st to 31st, 2019, finally statisticalizing the data in 282 parts excluding 18 questionnaires deemed to have been unresponsive. First, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and participation inducement) of the manufacturing workers. Second, the safety culture (safety climate, safety procedures) has a positive effect on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Third, safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) has a positive influence on the safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. Fourth, the safety consciousness (recognition of importance, interest and inducement of participation) appears to have a partial mediating effect in relation to safety culture (safety climate, safety procedure) and safety behavior (safety planning, safety check) of manufacturing workers. The implication of this study is that although the industrial accidents have occurred in the manufacturing industry in recent years, the studies on the workers in the manufacturing industry are insufficient. However, this study is meaningful that it has suggested ways for manufacturing workers to understand the safety culture and improve the safety consciousness and safety behavior by analyzing the effects of safety culture on safety consciousness and safety behavior of manufacturing workers.

  • This study was originated from the idea that it would be important for caring service of community children center to be positioned as the institution to strengthen the public nature and provide quality care services to children. In particular, competencies of the employees in community children centers play an important role and the quality of children care services is the crucial evaluation parameter for those institutions. The objectives of this study are to investigate the effects of the competency levels of the employees in community children centers on the service quality to children and to verify the mediated effect of self-efficacy on their service quality to children. With respect to the data analysis methods, hierarchical regression analysis was performed. Barron & Kenny's method was used to understand the mediated effect of self-efficacy. Also, Sobel test was performed to investigate the significance of mediated effect of self-efficacy. The study results are, first, the service quality to children might be differed by the level of competencies of the employees in community children centers; and second, partial mediated effect of self-efficacy was found between their competencies and service quality to children. These results implicate that service quality to children can be improved by strengthening competencies of the employees in community children centers and enhancing their self-efficacy. It is necessary to try to improve the service quality by enhancing competencies and self-efficacy of the employees in community children centers, which will lead those institutions to play a crucial role in the caring services.
