  • This paper deals with the robustness properties of the minimum disparity estimation in linear regression models. The estimators defined as statistical quantities whcih minimize the blended weight Hellinger distance between a weighted kernel density estimator of the residuals and a smoothed model density of the residuals. It is shown that if the weights of the density estimator are appropriately chosen, the estimates of the regression parameters are robust.

  • In this paper, we will discuss some sufficient and necessary conditions for modified Ishikawa iterative sequence with mixed errors to converge to fixed points for asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings in Banach spaces. The results presented in this paper extend, generalize and improve the corresponding results in Liu [4,5] and Ghosh-Debnath [2].

  • Optimization of the biphenyl chloromethylation process with para-formaldehyde has been investigated in the presence of ZnCl$_2$with HCI gas by the Box-Wilson method of mathematical planning of experiment. The 4,4'- (dichloromethyl)-biphenyl yield dependence on the biphenyl para-formaldehyde ratio, temperature and reaction duration has been studied. A mathematical model of the process has been developed and optimal conditions for the biphenyl chloromethylation procedure has been determined.

  • The existence of solutions in Besov spaces for nonlinear heat equations having transcendental nonlinearity: $$\frac{\partial}{{\partial}t}u-{\Delta}u=F(u)$$ is investigated. In particular, it is proved the local existence and blow-up phenomena of the solutions in Besov spaces for nonlinear heat equations corresponding to two transcendental nonlinear functions $F(u){\equiv}{\mid}u{\mid}e^{u^2}$ and $F(u){\equiv}e^u$ of rapid growth.

  • The optimum conditions for the analysis of the difenoconazole fungicide on soil and crops were investigated and the residues of that in apple and soil were identified by using the gas chromatography. The extract with acetonitrile was separated with saturated NaCl and n-hexane solution after filtered, and concentrated. Obtained fungicide residues were transfered to the florisil column and eluted with acetone and n-hexane mixed solution for the analysis by GLC(ECD). From the standard addition experiments with 0.20 and 1.0ppm, the average recoveries were 86~92% and the detection limit was 0.01 ppm. It seems to be safely used when difenoconazole is treated three times until 15 days before harvest of apple. In this case residual amounts of difenoconazole in apple was from 0.037ppm to 0.044ppm. The soil samples extracted with methanol and ammonium hydroxide mixed solution were partitioned with dichloromethane and saturated sodium chloride solution. The organic phase was concentrated and redissolved with toluene and analyzed with GLC(FID) after cleaned with Sep-Pak column. From the standard addition experiments with 0.10, 0.50 and 1.0ppm, the average recoveries were 101.2~103.7% and the detection limit was 0.025ppm.

  • Simultaneous determination of chloragenic acid (CA), 3,4-o-dicafeoyl quinic acid(3,4-DCQA), 4,5-o-dicaffeoyl quinic acid (4,5-DCQA) and linarin in Chrysanthemum sibiricum Fisher was newly established by a reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Sample was extracted with 20 ml methanol for 4 hrs. The extract was cleaned up by using Sep-Pak $C_18$ cartridge and 4 ml methanol-$H_2$O(1 : 1) as eluent. Their determination was performed by means of RP-HPLC with Bondapak $C_18$ column (30 cm ${\times}$ 3.9 mm i.d., 10 ${\mu}m$ and gradient elution mode as methanol-5 mM $H_3PO_4$ solution (30 : 70). The established method was applied to various samples purchased. As a result, their content ranges showed to be 0.35~0.55% for CA, 0.46~0.76% for 3,5-DCQA, 0.077~0.23% for 4,5-DCQA and 0.16~2.72% for linarin, respectively.
