Level of Moral Development in Pre-dental Professionals (일부 예비치과 전문인력의 도덕성 발달수준)

  • A study was designed to evaluate the level of moral development in 450 pre-dental professionals of 2 educational institution in Jeollabukdo, Ik san city. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires from October 2010. The Korean version of the DIT(Defining Issues Test) was adopted to evaluate level of moral development with the score of P(%) and stage. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The mean scores of P(%) was 43.10 in dental students and 41.21 in dental hygiene students(p=0.190). The score of stage 5A was highest which was followed by S3, S4, S6, S5B, S2. The score of stage 5B and 6 revealed sigificant difference by groups. The score of stage 6 revealed significant difference by sex in dental students(p=0.003). In dental hygiene students, it's significant difference by religion(S5B, p=0.044), birth order(S2, p=0.027) and growth area(S4, p=0.015). As for the correlations between moral development and the score of the stage, the score of P(%) was negatively correlated with the scores of stage 2, 3, 4 and 5B. On the other hand, the score of P(%) was positively correlated with the scores of stage 5A and 6. In conclusion, for enhancing dental students' moral development it is necessary a systemic ethics education and program development in curriculum.

출하 체중별 재래돼지의 품질특성

  • 본 연구는 재래돼지의 출하 체중별 육질특성을 비교하기 위해 처리구별로 20두씩 도축하여 평균 등급인 B등급 지육만을 선택하여 24시간 냉각한 다음 발골 정형한 등심(longissimus dorsi)을 이용하여 육질분석용 시료로 사용하였다. 수분과 조단백은 체중이 70${\sim}$80kg 돼지가 높게 조지방 함량은 낮게 나타났으며, pH는 전반적으로 낮게 나타났다. 보수성은 70% 이상을 나타내었고 처리구 중에서 pH가 다소 높은 T2구가 보수력이 높게 나타났다. 전단가는 T3구가 높게 T1구가 낮게 나타났다. 육색 중 적색도는 T2가 가장 높게 나타났으며 지방색 중 $L^{\ast}$값은 일반 백색돼지에 비해 낮게 나타났으며, $b^{\ast}$값도 월등히 낮게 나타나 흰색의 지방의 가지고 있는 것으로 사료되며 출하체중이 높을수록 $b^{\ast}$값이 높게 나타났다. 지방산 조성은 체중이 60${\sim}$70kg대인 T2구가 다른 처리구에 비해 포화지방산은 다른처리구에 비해 낮게 나타났으며 불포화지방산은 높게 나타났고 필수지방산은 낮게 나타났다.

Study on the Relationship between Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide and Routine Blood Test Factors at a General Hospital in Gyeonggi-do (경기도 일개 종합병원에서 Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide와 통상적 혈액검사 인자간의 상관성 조사)

  • This study investigated retrospectively the correlation between the results of the N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and a routine blood test using a hospital information system. The NT-proBNP is involved in the pathophysiology of heart failure. The results show that the relationship between age and NT-proBNP was significant (P<0.01) with a positive correlation (r=0.163). The peptide concentration showed a negative correlation between the total protein (r=-0.250) and albumin (r=-0.270), and a negative correlation between the erythrocyte count and hemoglobin and hematocrit (P<0.01). NT-proBNP had a positive correlation with neutrophils (r=0.227) and a negative correlation with lymphocytes (r=-0.236), showing significant results (P<0.01). NT-proBNP and creatinine showed a positive correlation (r=0.594, P<0.01), and it was the most influential factor according to multiple regression analysis (B=0.53, t=7.65). P<0.01). The concentrations of NT-proBNP and uric acid showed a positive correlation (r=0.180, P<0.05). Lactate dehydrogenase was observed as a factor affecting the NT-proBNP (B=0.20, t=3.28, P<0.01). This explanatory power had an influence of 43%. Therefore, the accurate test and related factors of the NT-proBNP have significant clinical value.

  • Suppose that G is a finite group and H is a subgroup of G. H is said to be an ss-quasinormal subgroup of G if there is a subgroup B of G such that G = HB and H permutes with every Sylow subgroup of B; H is said to be semi-p-cover-avoiding in G if there is a chief series 1 = $G_0$ < $G_1$ < ${\cdots}$ < $G_t=G$ of G such that, for every i = 1, 2, ${\ldots}$, t, if $G_i/G_{i-1}$ is a p-chief factor, then H either covers or avoids $G_i/G_{i-1}$. We give the structure of a finite group G in which some subgroups of G with prime-power order are either semi-p-cover-avoiding or ss-quasinormal in G. Some known results are generalized.

Molecular Divergences of 16S rRNA and rpoB Gene in Marine Isolates of the Order Oscillatoriales (Cyanobacteria) (남조세균 흔들말목(Cyanobacteria, Oscillatoriales) 해양 균주의 16S rRNA와 rpoB 유전자 변이)

  • In this study, we investigated molecular divergences and phylogenetic characteristics of the 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and RNA polymerase beta subunit (rpoB) gene sequences from the order Oscillatoriales (Cyanobacteria). The rpoB of Oscillatoriales showed higher genetic divergence when compared with those of 16S rRNA (p-distance: rpoB=0.270, 16S=0.109), and these differences were statistically significant (Student t-test, p<0.001). Phylogenetic trees of 16S rRNA and rpoB were generally compatible; however, rpoB tree clearly separated the compared Oscillatoriales taxa, with higher phylogenetic resolution. In addition, parsimony analyses showed that rpoB gene evolved 2.40-fold faster than 16S rRNA. These results suggest that the rpoB is a useful gene for the molecular phylogenetics and species discrimination in the order Oscillatoriales.

Effects of Storage and Supplementation with Ginger and Ginseng Powder on Volatile Basic Nitrogen, Aerobic Plate and Sensory Evaluation of Pork Jerky (생강 및 인삼 분말 첨가가 돈육포의 휘발성 염기태 질소, 미생물 수 및 관능평가에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we analyzed 24 pieces ($4{\times}3{\times}2$) of pork jerky produced using raw meat and we then randomly assigned the hind leg meat to a treatment group. In addition, the effects of storage according to aerobic plate counts and sensory evaluation on pork jerky were examined. Form the results, We found that volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) content and aerobic plate counts of pork jerky gradually increased with increased storage time, ; moreover, there was a significant difference between the treatment groups and the control group (p<0.01). However, the counts did not increase as significantly in the ginseng powder group (B), as compared to the ginger powder group (A) (p<0.05). The sensory evaluation of pork jerky peaked during the second week of storage in all treatment groups, after which these characteristics gradually decreased (p<0.05). In addition, these characteristics were generally higher in the control group, compared to the treatment groups. When comparing the ginseng powder addition group (B) and ginger powder-addition group (A), only color was significantly higher in the ginger powder group. Based on this study as well as previous studies, storage of pork jerky significantly affects the sensory evaluation of raw pork. Ginger powder may have a more beneficial effect than other treatments on the sensory evaluation. Additionally, in all treatment groups, sensory characteristics were significantly higher in the ginger treated groups than in those of the ginseng-treated groups.

Effects of Mugwort Powder Supplementation on Carcass and Meat Characteristics in the Finishing Period of Gilts (인진쑥 첨가가 비육기 암퇘지의 도체 및 육질 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of mugwort powder on meat composition and sensory characteristics in finishing gilts $(LY{\times}D)$. Twenty pigs (75kg) were randomly allotted to four treatments. Mugwort powder was added to final concentrations of 0(C), 0.5(T1), 1.0(T2), and 1.5%(T3) in the basal diet. Pigs were fed with the specified diet for 50 days. Carcass characteristics and cooking loss were not significantly affected by mugwort powder supplementation. The WHC and cooking loss of T2 and T3 were not significantly different than the control. However, the pH values for meat from gilts fed the T1 and T3 diets were significantly lower than the control (p<0.05). Shear force values of fresh meat were highest with the T3 diet (p<0.05), while the shear force values of cooked meat were significantly lower than the control with the T2 and T3 diets. Texture values of hardness, brittleness, gumminess, chewiness, and adhesiveness were significantly higher with the T3 diet (p<0.05), however values for cohesiveness and springiness were not significantly affected by mugwort powder supplementation. These results indicate that the feeding of mugwort powder improves the shear force of cooked meat from gilts fed the T3 diet, however the carcass, WHC and cooking loss characteristics in gilts are not affected by mugwort powder supplementation.

Effect of psychological separation, self-control, college satisfaction on the smartphone addiction of nursing students (간호대학생의 심리적 분리, 자기통제력, 학교만족도가 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of psycological separation, self-control, college satisfaction of smartphone addiction in nursing students. Data were collected from 201 nursing students in B city and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0. The degree of smartphone addiction in nursing students was 2.23±.58. There were significant differences in smartphone addiction with respect to alcohol drinking(t=2.530, p=.012), smoking(t=2.302, p=.022), study-time(t=6.036, p=.001), smartphone average daily using time(t=6.036, p=.001). There was negative correlation between smartphone addiction and self-control(r=-.443, p<.001), college satisfaction(r=-.210, p=.033). The factors affecting smartphone addiction of the study subjects were self-control(𝛽=-.355, p<.001), smartphone average daily using time(𝛽=.231, p<.001), smorking(𝛽=-.132, p=.033), with an explanatory power of 27.5%. Through this research requires the fellow study to determine the factors affecting smartphone addiction of nursing students.

SPLITTING TYPE, GLOBAL SECTIONS AND CHERN CLASSES FOR TORSION FREE SHEAVES ON PN

  • In this paper we compare a torsion free sheaf F on $P^N$ and the free vector bundle $\oplus^n_{i=1}O_{P^N}(b_i)$ having same rank and splitting type. We show that the first one has always "less" global sections, while it has a higher second Chern class. In both cases bounds for the difference are found in terms of the maximal free subsheaves of F. As a consequence we obtain a direct, easy and more general proof of the "Horrocks' splitting criterion", also holding for torsion free sheaves, and lower bounds for the Chern classes $c_i$(F(t)) of twists of F, only depending on some numerical invariants of F. Especially, we prove for rank n torsion free sheaves on $P^N$, whose splitting type has no gap (i.e., $b_i{\geq}b_{i+1}{\geq}b_i-1$ 1 for every i = 1,$\ldots$,n-1), the following formula for the discriminant: $$\Delta(F):=2_{nc_2}-(n-1)c^2_1\geq-\frac{1}{12}n^2(n^2-1)$$. Finally in the case of rank n reflexive sheaves we obtain polynomial upper bounds for the absolute value of the higher Chern classes $c_3$(F(t)),$\ldots$,$c_n$(F(t)) for the dimension of the cohomology modules $H^iF(t)$ and for the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of F; these polynomial bounds only depend only on $c_1(F)$, $c_2(F)$, the splitting type of F and t.

A Study on the local thermal changes following herbal acupuncture on D.I.T.I.

  • This study was done to observe the effect on the local thermal changes of herbal acupuncture on D.I.T.I.. The objects of this study are as follows; If there are remarkable local thermal changes between pre and post herbal acupuncture therapy on D.I.T.I.or not. If there are those, We examine how long that changes are maintained, what the adequate interval is on herbal acupuncture therapy, and what the reaction in a .local or whole body are on that therapy Materials and Methods : To study the local thermal changes in herbal acupuncture therapy, D.I.T.I. was used. Determination of this analysis periods are pre and post-therapy(1 hour, 24hours, 48hours and 7days later). The study group was divided into three groups(comprised 23 students in oriental medical college, Woosuk University). One was NS(Normal Saline) group, another was CF(CARTHAMI SEMEN) group and the other was BU(FEL URSI + BENZOAR BOVIS) group. The Herbal Acupunture solution was injected 0.2ml divide into 0.05ml at tile P'ungmun(B12), P'yesu(B13), Pubun(B41), Paek'o(B42) 4 points. Then, in order to analyze the clinical form, we have observed response of 23 students whenever we checked the thermal changes of their after perfoming Results : The results were obtained as follows ; 1. There is no significant dermatothermal changes at NS group and CF group, but BU group have remarkable changes in 24, 48, 72 hours. 2. From post-therapy 1 hour to 48 hours, there is a significant change (P<0.01) at NS-BU group and CF-BU group, But there is none 7 days later. 3. In the analysis of whole or local body reaction, local pain appears at NS group(22%), CF group(11%), BU group(91%), discomfort reaction appears at CF group(14%), BU group(30%). BU groilp has feel vertigo(13%), drowsy (70%) and pain in action(52%). 4. In the analysis of the duration of physic진 reaction, BU group is most lately maintained. Conclusions : These results suggest that in the physical reaction of herbal acupuncture solutions, BU solution is more sensitive than CF solution or NS.
