코로나19 팬데믹 전후 청소년 대사증후군 유병률과 위험요인의 변화: 2018년과 2020년도 국민건강영양조사를 이용한 2차 자료분석 (Changes in the Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and its Risk factors in Korean Adolescents before and during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Secondary Data Analysis of the 2018 and 2020 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the changes in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its risk factors in Korean adolescents before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The study employed a descriptive cross-sectional design. Data were obtained from the 2018 and 2020 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys. Out of a total of 15,351 participants in the surveys, 971 adolescents aged 12 to 18 years were included. The data were analyzed using the rao-scott 𝝌2 test and t-test. Results: There was no significant difference in the prevalence of adolescent metabolic syndrome before and after the outbreak of COVID-19. As for general characteristics, changes in high blood pressure were confirmed from waist circumference, diastolic blood pressure, and metabolic syndrome risk factors. When analyzing the general characteristics according to gender, there were significant differences in waist circumference and diastolic blood pressure in boys. Concerning the risk factors for metabolic syndrome, there was a significant difference in high blood pressure in both boys and girls and in abdominal obesity in girls. Conclusion: Hypertension and abdominal obesity, which are risk factors for metabolic syndrome, should be managed by including them in the school health area. Communities and schools should take an active role in preparing the youth for healthy adulthood.

수원시내 일부 초등학생의 식행동과 주의력결핍 과잉행동장애 수준과의 관계 연구 (Relationship between Food Behavior and Level of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Elementary School Students in Suwon-si, Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between food behavior and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) score in elementary students in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. Two hundreds and thirty two students (113 male and 119 female) in grades 4~6 participated. We assessed food behavior by using Nutrition Quotient (NQ). NQ was examined by an NQ questionnaire, which consisted of 19 food behavior checklist items. Their items were grouped into five categories: balance, diversity, moderation, regularity, and practice. All data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 18.0. Among the five factors, NQ for food behavior and balance factor showed the lowest score, whereas that of diversity factor showed the highest score. The final Nutrition Quotient (NQ) score weighted on such five factors was 62.59 points. The average level of ADHD by Conners-Wells Adolescent Self-Report Scale (Short Form) [CASS(S)] was 17.02 points out of a total of 81 points. Six students (2.2%) who scored more than 41 points were classified as ADHD risk. By gender, male students (19.76 points) showed a higher CASS(S) score than female students (14.41 points) did. There was a significant negative correlation between NQ and CASS(S) score (r=-0.445, P<0.001). Multiple regression determined the effects of moderation ($Exp({\beta})=-0.193$, P<0.01) and practice ($Exp({\beta})=-0.345$, P<0.001) on CASS(S) score. In conclusion, distinctive nutritional education is needed for students with a high level of ADHD to help their understanding considering their different levels of attention.

여고생의 의복치수 설정을 위한 연구 -주로 서울시내 17세 여고생을 중심으로- (A Study on Establishment of the Standard Size for High School Girls -The Girls of Seventeen Years Old in Seoul-)

  • 'Adolescence' is a critical period in the process of growing and aging but important in that an adolescent becomes aware of and begins to look about him or her self. Especially with girls in their late teens (15$\~$18), they pay more attention to their looks and clothes than the boys do, which affects to some extent the formation of their personality and their behavior. From this point .of view. it is significant to establish the standard size of high-school girls' clothes. This study aims to measure high-school girls in size and to establish the standard size of their clothes; furthermore. to enable them to lead a satisfactory living with more appropriate size of clothes. The results, analyzed by two different representing items which resulted in little difference, are as belows: 1) Stature had a significant correlation with posterior waist height; bust girth had the most significant correlation with weight. and also some considerable correlation with other representing items; 2) The F-test result showed significant difference on $1\%$ level over all the items between the measured (Y) and the estimated (Y); the correlation among the representing items was considerable also; 3) When the measurement increases in stature by 4cm, bust girth by 4cm. and posterior shoulder width by 2cm respectively, the increase or decrease in other items are as shown on Table 4. Since this study was carried out in girls' high-schools in Seoul, it is expected to extend its further study throughout the nation. thus contributing to comprehending the whole truth of people's body-size and promoting the fabrication and modelling of the original clothes for the nation by the strict standard size up to making ready-made clothes with no difficulty in setting the standard and model size.

우리나라 청소년의 다문화 수용성 관련 요인에 관한 연구 동향 분석 (A Study on the Research Trends of the Influential Factors on Multicultural Acceptability of Korean Teens)

  • 이 연구는 2008년부터 2017년까지 수행된 우리나라 청소년의 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 연구동향을 파악함으로써 향후 연구에 활용될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하였다. 연구 방법은 국내 학술데이터베이스에서 '다문화', '청소년', '중학생', '고등학생', '수용성'의 키워드를 이용하여 논문을 검색하였고, 최종 65편의 논문을 선정하여 연도, 학문분야, 연구방법, 주요개념을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 2012년을 기점으로 학술지 논문과 학위 논문 모두 급증하였고, 학문분야는 사회과학분야, 교육학분야에서 가장 많은 연구가 진행됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구방법으로는 양적연구와 단면연구의 비중이 높았다. 주요개념은 다문화 교육, 친구나 교사관계와 같은 학교 지역사회요인에 국한되어있으며 새로운 요인을 동시에 분석한 연구는 드문 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 청소년의 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 새로운 요인들을 복합적으로 조사하여 영향력이 가장 큰 요인들을 파악하는 연구가 필요함을 시사한다.

필라테스 운동이 여중생의 요통과 체간 등속성 근력 및 평형성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pilates Exercises on Isokinetic Trunk Strength and Balance in Female Middle School Students with Lumbago)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of performing Pilates exercises for eight weeks on the isokinetic trunk strength and balance of female middle school students with lumbago. Methods: Twenty-four female students who met the test requirements were recruited and randomly divided into a control group (CG, n = 16) and a Pilates exercise group (Pilates group; PG, n = 8). The PG performed a Pilates program, which consisted of lumbar muscle strengthening exercises, for 60 minutes three times a week for eight weeks. Data analysis was conducted by two-way repeated ANOVA, and a Bonferroni test was carried out when significant differences appeared. The alpha level was set at 0.05. Results: Following the experimental treatment, the PG showed an increased trunk flexion peak torque of 17% and 13% at angular velocities of 180°/sec and 300°/sec, respectively. The intergroup comparison showed no significant difference at pre-measurement, while the PG increased about 31% (180°/sec) and 15% (300°/sec) higher than the control group at post-measurement. Following the experimental treatment, the PG showed an increased trunk extensor peak torque of approximately 29% and 21% at angular velocities of 180°/sec and 300°/sec, respectively. The intergroup comparison showed no significant difference at pre-measurement, while the PG increased approximately 27% (180°/sec) and 15% (300°/sec) higher than the control group at post-measurement. Both the CG and the PG showed a 20% and 50% decrease in pain index after the experimental treatment, respectively. After the experimental treatment, the PG had about 50% lower pain than the CG. The average error rate of static balance in the PG reduced by 19% from 3.28±0.45 to 2.65±0.36, confirming a significant improvement. Conclusion: Regular Pilates exercise for eight weeks improved the isokinetic trunk muscle strength of female middle school students with lumbago and relieved their pain. Pilates was also shown to be effective in improving balance.

중학생의 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷·스마트폰 중독 성향에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 조절효과 (The Effect of Middle School Students' Emotional Trauma to Internet·Smart Phone Addiction : The Moderating Effect of Self-Esteem)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중학생의 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷 스마트폰중독과의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과를 검증하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 정서적 외상경험을 독립변인, 자아존중감을 조절변인, 인터넷 스마트폰중독을 종속변인으로 설정하여 조절효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구대상은 중학생 645명을 대상으로 정서적 외상경험, 자아존중감, 인터넷 스마트폰중독에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정서적 외상경험은 자아존중감과 부적 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 인터넷 스마트폰중독과는 정적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 분석한 결과 정서적 외상경험과 인터넷 스마트폰중독 간의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과가 나타났다. 즉, 자아존중감의 수준에 따라 정서적 외상경험과 인터넷 스마트폰중독의 상호작용 효과가 나타났다. 이 연구의 의의로는 첫째, 정서적 외상경험이 인터넷 스마트폰 중독의 원인변인임을 확인하였다. 둘째, 청소년의 정서적 외상경험의 부정적 영향력을 줄이기 위해 자아존중감에 대한 개입이 필요함을 확인하였다.

반사회적행동(Antisocial Behavior) 아동의 특성에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE VARIABLES OF CHILDHOOD ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR)

  • 아동기의 반사회적 행동(Antisocial behavior)은 성인기의 장애로 이어지며(Robins, 1974) 최근 우리 나라에서도 청소년 비행과 범죄의 저연령화, 집단화, 재범화등의 문제점을 드러내고 있음을 볼때 아동기의 반사회적 행동은 새삼 관심을 집중시켜야 할 특성이다. 본 논문은 현행 법상 형사적 벌을 면하게 되는 14세미만의 아동들을 대상으로 그동안 충분히 논의되어왔던 변인들을 제외하고 새로 논의되고 있는 사회적 환경에 대한 인지기능과 학습적 기능과 반사회적행동간의 관련여부를 알아보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 피험자는 저연령과 고연령집단, 반사회적행동 아동집단과 일반아동집단에 따라 구분되어 배치된 총 64명의 아동들로써 사회적 환경지각 가운데 친구지각, 지인지각, 좌절상황지각을 측정했으며, 학습적 기능측정은 시각운동통압면, 쓰기표현면, 문법구성면에서 이루어졌다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 친구시각면에서 반사회적행동 아동들은 일반아동에 비해 친구를 더 지지적인 관계로 지각하고 있었으며, 지인지각에서는 일반아동과 차이가 없었다. 둘째, 좌절상황지각면에서 일반아동들이 내벌적인 공격방향을 반사회적행동 아동집단보다 더 사용하고 있으며, 반사회적행동 아동들이 장해를 더 예민하게 지각하고 있으며, 반응의 형태에서도 반사회적행동 아동들이 문제를 해결하려는 의욕이 적음을 알 수 있었다. 세째, 학습기능측정결과에서는 시각운동통합력, 쓰기표현력, 문법완성력 모두에서 일반아동이 의의있게 우세함을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 반사회적행동 아동들의 학습적기능의 결함상태를 확인할 수 있었다.

서울시내 실업계 여고생들의 성지식 태도 및 행위에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on the Knowledge. Attitude and Behavior of Commercial Girl's High School Students Toward Sex)

  • Sex education is necessary for the youth that they should have an adequate sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in their adolescent period. Four major objectives of this study are as follows; 1. To know the level of sexual knowledge of commercial girl's high school students in Seoul. 2. To know their actual state for the attitudes and behaviors toward sex. 3. To compare the sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of day time school students with those of night time school students. 4. To compare the factors associated with their sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviors with the individual level. Data were collected on 986 students in Seoul from April 1 to April 10, 1983. As the result of this survey, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. The level of sexual knowledge. (1) The level of knowledge of day time high school students about the physiology of female and pregnancy is shown higher than those of night time students. 64.2% of the respondents are aware of the organ producing ovum. 56.4% the ovulation period. 95.6% the cause of pregnancy. 74.5% the pregnantable period and 12.7% the place of fetilization. (2) Out of 986 respondents. 71.8% knew about contraceptive method correctly, and day time school students knew litter better than night time school students, by showing 73.9% and 69.7% respectively. They knew about contraceptive method with 'oral pills'. 'menstrual cycles', 'condoms'. and 'loops' in the same order. 3) Kinds of veneral disease was correctly known by 37.9%. Day time students knew much better than night time school students. by showing 67.8% and 7.9%. respectively. Transmission method of veneral disease was correctly known by 28.3%. Day time students knew much better than night time students, by showing 51.2% and 5.3%, respectively. (4) The major information source of sexual knowledge was 'book and magazine' (39.9%) and 'friends' (27.4%). 2. Actual state of attitudes and behaviors toward sex. (1) Out of 986 respondents, 84.0% answered that premarital purity should be kept. (2) Out of 986 respondents, 60.8% had an acquaintance of the opposite sex. 45.2% of students with opposite sex reported introduction of their friends as the main channel of making an acquaintance of the opposite sex. (3) Of those who responded to this study 13.8% reported having masturbation, 21.5% kissing, 6.2% petting and 3.7% sex intercourse. (4) 64.8% had sexual problems, which was mensturance (27.2%), aquaintance of the opposite sex (25.4%). The main method to solve the problems were consultation with 'friends' and 'books and magazine' percentage being 39.1% and 30.8%, respectively, whereas very small students discussed with 'teachers' and 'parents' percentages being 0.3% and 5.9%, respectively. (5) Out of 986 respondents, 62.2% had experience in educating about sex, the percentage of day time school was higher than that of night time school. (6) 88.2% of students wanted sex education in school, which were 'general information about sex' (35.4%), 'sexual morality and solution of sexual desire' (18.5%), 'aquaintance of the opposite sex' (13.3%) and 'marriage and role of man and woman' (12.4%) in the same order. They wanted to be instructed about sexes in the lecture of physical education, home economics, biology, military training (59.9%), regular curriculum (17.5%), special lecture (16.9%) and by the counselor or school nurse (5.7%). 3. Analyse concerning the factors about the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. (1) The better school record was, the higher the level of sexual knowledge. (2) Those who have the religion considered the permarital purity more important than those who have not, the percentage showing 86.7% and 80.7%, respectively. (3) The result of dyad analysis of making acquaintance of the opposite sex in the friendship network showed that a high index of the acquaintance of the opposite sex tends to be a high adoption of making one at the individual level in the group, while the low index tends to be a low adoption of making one in the group.

방과 후 감각통합프로그램(감각통합치료)이 학교에서의 기능적 과제 수행에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Sensory Integration Program(Sensory Integration Therapy) after School on Functional Task Performance in School)

  • 목적 : 본 연구는 학교 방과 후 활동으로 감각통합치료를 제공하였을 때 작업수행요소와 더불어 작업수행영역인 학교에서의 기능적 과제수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 연구 방법 : 실험은 대전 Y초등학교에 재학 중인 1-2학년 아동 3명을 대상으로 방과 후 활동 시간에 감각통합치료를 제공하였으며, 중재는 2010년 5월과 6월에 걸쳐 총 25회를 제공하였다. 감각통합치료효과를 알아보기 위해 단일집단 사전-사후 설계(one group pretest-posttest design)를 사용하였고, 작업수행요소에서의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 단축감각프로파일(SSP), 한국판 시지각 발달검사(K-DTVP-2), Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency 1(BOTMP)를 사용하였으며, 작업수행영역에서의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 학교에서의 기능적 과제 수행능력에 대한 평가(School Function Assessment)를 사용하였다. 결과 : 방과 후 감각통합프로그램(감각통합치료)을 적용한 결과 대상아동들은 작업수행요소인 단축감각력(SSP), BOTMP, 한국판 시지각 발달검사(K-DTVP-2)의 수치상 향상을 보였으며, 작업수행영역인 학교에서의 기능적 과제 수행(SFA)의 점수에서도 향상을 보였다. 결론 : 본 연구를 통해 방과 후 감각통합프로그램(감각통합치료)이 작업수행요소와 학교에서의 기능적 과제수행에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여주었지만, 대상의 수가 적어 통계적 유의성을 찾는 데는 한계가 있었다. 따라서 향후 연구에서는 대상자의 수를 고려한 연구들이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

미국의 청소년 흡연예방을 위한 중재 프로그램의 현황 (An Exploratory Analysis School-based Intervention Studies to Prevent Smoking by American Adolescents)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand a variety of intervention studies to prevent smoking by adolescents in U.S. and find out implications for Korea. Methods: This study reviewed articles found in the internet and analysed the data of US DHHS and CDC. Results: The School Health Policies and Programs Study (SHPPS) is a national survey periodically conducted to assess school health policies and programs of U.S. The main components of SHPPS are health education and physical education, health services, mental health and social services, school policies, and school environments. The CDC guidelines for school health programs to prevent tobacco use and addiction are composed of policy, instruction, curriculum, training, family involvement, tobacco-use cessation efforts, and evaluation. School-based interventions to prevent smoking can be classified into the categories of information-giving curricula, social competence curricula, social influence approaches, combined methods draw on social competence and social influence approaches and multi-modal programmes and Youth Empowerment study. The key programs for adolescent smoking prevention are ALERT Project, HSPP, TNT Project, MPP, NC YES. Conclusions: As smoking is often the first step of unhealthy behaviour such as alcohol drinking, illegal drugs, and violence, smoking prevention programmes for adolescents in U.S. have been comprehensive school-based health programs. In smoking prevention programs for adolescents, CDC plays a critical role by supporting survey, research, policy, and funds. The effectiveness of the programs was high when it was based on school and involved parents, community, and mass media. As the effect of each programme is not expected to last for a long time, consistent repetition of these interventions is essential. Current smoking prevention programs for adolescents are exploring the empowerment approach focused on the active involvement of participants rather than traditional approaches using order and discipline.
