We derive a new relationship between the giant branch slope as measured in the color-magnitude diagram (K, J - K) and [Fe/H] metallicity for old open clusters. Previously such relationships have been derived for globular clusters, while similar tendency has been expected for open clusters. New derived correlation, [Fe/H]=-17.2($\pm$0.23)GB slope - 1.95($\pm$0.02), is based on a collection of data for 10 old open clusters. Most clusters behave as expected from the theoretical predictions.

Any open Riemann surface has a conformal model in any orientable Riemannian manifold of dimension 4. Precisely, we will prove that, given any open Riemann surface, there is a conformally equivalent model in a prespecified orientable 4-dimensional Riemannian manifold. This result along with [5] now shows that an open Riemann surface admits conformal models in any Riemannian manifold of dimension ${\geq}3$.

In this paper, we introduce a notion of cleanly covered topological spaces along with two strong separation axioms. Some properties of cleanly covered topological spaces are obtained in term of maximal open sets including some similar properties of a topological space in term of maximal closed sets. Two strong separation axioms are also investigated in terms of minimal open and maximal closed sets.

1,597 cases of operation on the cardiovascular disease were performed at the Hanyang University Hospital from 1972 to 1987. Of these, 1,005 cases were open heart surgery. It was started from July 1975. Among the open heart cases, 725 were congenital heart diseases and 280 were acquired heart diseases. In congenital heart cases, 554 were acyanotic and 171 were cyanotic. The operative results were as follows; the overall mortality of cardiovascular surgery was 7.1%, the open heart mortality was 9.5%. This analyses were reported in memory of the achievement of 1,000 cases of open heart surgery.

인터넷 접속지역정보를 일부 포털 사이트에 적용시키는 것으로부터 나아가, 웹2.0을 접목하여 개인과 사업자의 홈페이지에 적용할 수 있도록 하기 위한 Open API 의 필요성과 개발 방안에 대하여 논의한다. 접속지역정보 Open API의 정보 제공 방안과 정보 보안 방법, 트래픽 제어 방법 등에 관해서도 논의한다. 지금까지 인터넷 서비스에 접속지역정보 적용 현황과 Open API를 적용할 경우에 개선 방안에 대하여 논의한다.

We introduce the concept of fuzzy $r$-minimal ${\alpha}$-open set on a fuzzy minimal space and some basic properties. We also introduce the concepts of fuzzy $r$-M ${\alpha}$-continuous and fuzzy $r$-M($M^*$) ${\alpha}$-open mappings, and investigate characterization for such mappings.

Ankle injury is a very common injury. Especially it is the most commonly injured site in cases sports injuries. However, severe open ankle sprain (SOAS), defined as the tearing of the skin over the torn ligament in the ankle, is extremely rare, and no cases have been reported in Korea. In our center, we encountered a patient with a severe ankle open sprain, so we report and discuss that case.

From April, 1984 to August, 1986, 214 cases of cardiovascular surgeries had been performed at Yeungnam University Hospital consisting 158 open heart surgeries and 56 non-open heart surgeries. The leading cardiac anomaly of open heart surgeries was ventricular septal defect which was 43% of congenital heart diseases, and most of remaining non-open heart surgeries were ligating patent ductus arteriosus. We had observed 33 postoperative complications such as wound problems, transient arrhythmia, postpericardiotomy syndrome, bleeding requiring reoperation and so on. 3 cases of surgical mortality were present [2 in congenital heart diseases and 1 in acquired heart disease], which resulting 1.9% of surgical mortality rate in the open heart surgeries.

The article suggests criteria of dividing transport systems into systems of limited and open access. Possibilities of implementing principles of the open access in conjunction with the adaptive control at the railway transport have been analyzed. The author makes a grounded conclusion that the development of transport systems based on the open access and adaptive control can play a positive role in overcoming the global instability of the economy and form prerequisites of its stable grows.

This paper is devoted to the study of various notions of almost openness and almost homeomorphisms and the characterization of some of them in terms of the relative interior operator. Generally, openness (or quasi-openness) for a continuous map f is well known. We define openness (or quasi-openness) at a point x using the relative interior operator and characterize that a continuous map f is almost open, almost quasi-open, almost embedding and almost homeomorphsims.
