  • The mobility of nodes are different in wireless ad hoc networks. Routes have to be refreshed frequently due to the mobility of the nodes acting as routers. Path consists of a few highly mobile nodes should be avoided to forward packets, because even only one highly mobile node may result in the break of path. We develop a mobility aware method to evaluate path stability for multipath routing in wireless Ad Hoc networks. Specifically, we extend it to a well-studied multipath routing protocol known as ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector (AOMDV). The resulting protocol is referred to as path stability evaluation (PSE). Performance comparison of AOMDV with PSE are studied through ns-2. Simulation shows that PSE has optimistic results in performance metrics such as packet delivery, end-to-end delay, routing overhead and throughput.

  • Recently, as the smart devices such as smart phone and smart pad are becoming increasingly common, the number of the smart devices users is increasing explosively. Therefore, the mobile Internet traffic is tend to get more and more increasing, and thus it is expected that the demand for using mobile Internet traffic will be exponentially increasing annually worldwide. In addition, mobile communications operators concentrate on much efforts and investments in order to effectively solve these problems at home and abroad, and the interest on the network-based (i.e., PMIPv6-based) distributed mobility management technology, which effectively distributes the explosively increasing mobile Internet traffic, is getting larger and larger. In this paper, we address the overview and recent research trend of PMIPv6-based distributed mobility management technology, and also describe the necessity and future prospect for studying PMIPv6-based distributed mobility management technology.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the differentiation and improvement measures of Kakao T through a usability evaluation centered on the service. In-depth interviews were conducted by first identifying the status of the mobility O2O service and reconfiguring the usability principles of the Honeycomb model, focusing on the functions and interfaces. First, there are problems driven from the imbalance in supply and demand as a mobility service, but it is likely to be improved through the addition of future features, carpooling. Second, problems were elicited for not recognizing the need for incorporated functions of Kakao T in the presence of existing functional-specific applications. Improvements derived based on this study are expected to help increase the convenience of users of mobility O2O services.

  • The manufacturing-oriented mobility system is being reorganized around the future mobility system represented by electrification, sharing, and autonomy, driven by the social demand for sustainable development. Changes in future mobility systems are expected to accelerate thanks to advances in IT technology. To this end, this study conducted an expert survey (N=23) to predict the direction of changes in the future mobility system. Through the survey, 'mobility sharing' was selected as a key factor in the future mobility system among four future mobility. In addition, 'safety' was selected as the most important service factors in future mobility system among eight future mobility service factors. We hope that the results of this study will be used as basic information to design policies and service directions of preparation for the future mobility system.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting residential mobility between urban and rural. After classifying urban and rural region based on discriminatory attributes of the regions, we applied a multinomial logistic model, using the sample data of 2020 Korea Population and Housing Census. The major findings are as follows. The young highly educated in cities avoided rural. The young less educated in rural engaged in 2, 3th industries as well as agricultural industry, but remained in low-paying and unstable jobs. In addition, various classes moved to rural and rising house prices in cities pushed people to rural. Therefore, it is necessary to develop diversified regional industry models and provide opportunities for high quality and stable jobs in rural by linking industrial demand, education and jobs. Also, preserving the rural environment, settlement conditions and residential environment are needed for satisfying various needs of urban residents who migrate to rural areas. While regional policies so far have focused on maintaining the population size and promoting a population influx, rural development and population policies should be established in a way that responds to diverse population classes in an era of population decline.

  • In recent years, there are many data and multimedia services that are supported by WiFi-enabled mobile devices. As a result, the demand for the ability to connect to the Internet anywhere is rapidly increasing and network infrastructure is becoming increasingly important. The design of cost-efficient network mobility (NEMO) protocol is intended to reduce the demand for limited wired/wireless network bandwidth at the signaling of mobility support and packet delivery operations. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective inter-LMA domain mobility management scheme which provides fast handover with multicasting support in NEMO environments. And our Fast PR-NEMO scheme is compared with N-PMIPv6, rNEMO, and PR-NEMO. In conclusion, our proposed scheme shows the best performance in terms of location updating cost, and packet tunneling cost.

  • This study conducted a survey of companies in the aviation, drone, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) sectors to analyze the educational and workforce needs, identifying essential competencies and technical training required. The study also proposed potential areas for collaboration between universities and industry regarding educational methods. Key findings and implications of the survey were derived. The results indicated that the most critical consideration for hiring was job-specific skills in the respective field. The most essential quality for workforce training was identified as enhancing the ability to use various equipment and software related to the major field. In the UAM sector, there was a high demand for personnel and education related to aircraft and components, with the highest demand being for lightweight manufacturing technology for aircraft. This study can serve as foundational data for addressing the educational needs in this field.

  • In wireless ad-hoc networks, the nodes configuring a path act as routers with various mobility. If the path is broken by the movement of a node, a new path have to be found again. For this reason, the node with high mobility should be excluded from structuring a path as far as possible. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which excludes nodes with high mobility from constructing a path by collecting and managing the information of mobility. As the result, this can provide more stable paths. The proposed algorithm uses the extended AOMDV method. In this algorithm, we appends History Field and Decline Field in the routing table to collect and manage the mobility information. In addition, we add Mbl Field to RREP (Route Reply) message to apply the collected information to configure the real path.

  • Recently, the demand has continued to increase for higher data rates and improved multimedia services through wireless internet access. In order to increase the data rate and link reliability, 3GPP LTE/A and IEEE 802.16e/m WiMAX systems incorporate MIMO transmission schemes. Since the hardware complexity increases with the number of transmit data streams and mobile devices have limited physical dimensions, an multiple input multiple output (MIMO) ystem with two antennas at both the transmitter and the receiver ($2{\times}2$) is considered to be a possible solution for mobile devices. In this paper, a low-complexity soft output MIMO symbol detector based on Modified-SQRD is proposed for mobile devices with two transmit and two receive antennas.
