  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between occupational identity, occupation satisfaction, and self-efficacy of care workers in care hospitals and to draw implications for improving the quality of care services. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, the occupational identity of care workers in care hospitals as an independent variable, occupation satisfaction as a dependent variable of occupational identity, and self-efficacy as a moderating variable were selected. The causal relationships between occupational identity and occupation satisfaction and the moderating effect of self-efficacy were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the occupational identity of care workers in care hospitals showed significant effects on occupation satisfaction and job commitment. Also, the effects of occupational identity on occupation satisfaction and job commitment differ depending on self-efficacy, which means that moderating effects of self-efficacy are significant. Based on this analytical results, the theoretical and policy implications of this study were suggested, and the directions and limitations of this study were suggested.

  • Purpose: We were to identify the differences of "Job stress" and "Depression scores" in the divided groups by self-efficacy. And the factors affecting Depression scores were analyzed. Method: This study was conducted from July 2006 to September 2006. Collected 295 surveys were used in this study among 311 surveys since 16 surveys offered insufficient data. SPSS for Windows 10.0 was used to analyse the data. Result: We identified the factors of "Occupational climate", "Job control", "Job demand" as affecting the depression scores in the lower self-efficacy group by the multi-variables statistical analysis. And this statistical model had 12.5% explainable power. Also, the factors of "Occupational climate" were identified as affecting the depression scores in the higher self-efficacy group. And the statistical model had 9.0% explainable power. Conclusion: In the lower self-efficacy group, the scores of the job stress and depression were significantly higher. Therefore, in the lower self-efficacy group, the self-efficacy promotion programs should be needed for prevention of the related occupational diseases. The factors related job stress were identified as affecting the depression scores in both lower and higher self-efficacy groups. Therefore, job stress management program should be prepared for stress loading workers.

  • Occupational self-efficacy is one of the factors necessary for successful occupational rehabilitation of persons with intellectual disabilities. In this research, we investigated to see whether participating in a game-based training for job affects occupational self-efficacy. We compared a group who played a job-training game during traditional training with a group who participated only in traditional training. The results indicate that overall occupational self-efficacy of the game-based training group was affected significantly compared to the control group. Among the four subcategories, problem solving self efficacy and stress management self-efficacy showed significant improvement.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships of self-esteem, resilience, and occupational self-efficacy among dental hygiene students. Data were collected a self reported structured questionnaire was administerd in convenience sample of 240 dental hygiene students and the final 208 participants participate. The survey included demographic factors, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, resilience scale of CD-RISC, occupational self-efficacy scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient. There were positive correlation both occupational self-efficacy, resilience toward self-esteem. Resilience was correlated positively with occupational self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a dental hygienist curriculum and a comparative course program to improve self-esteem, major satisfaction and resilience in order to improve dental hygiene and student's occupational self-efficacy.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of applying occupational therapy that uses motion recognition on the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills of children who have neurodevelopmental disorder before and after treatment. Methods : This The study chose 16 children with neurodevelopmental disorder as research subjects who were randomly and evenly allocated into an experimental group and a control group. The experiment followed a pretest-posttest design. As an intervention, the experimental group received motion recognition-based occupational therapy and a separate sensory integration program. The control group only participated in the separate sensory integration program. The eight-week experiment duration included 24 intervention sessions where the a 50-minute session was implemented three times a week for eight weeks. To compare the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills before and after the intervention, measurement tools including the Physical self efficacy, Beery VMI-6, and Penn interactive peer play scale were used. All measured variables were analyzed and expressed as mean, standard deviation and percentage. Results : The motion recognition-based occupational therapy demonstrated a significant effect on improving the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills of the experimental group. The intervention also caused a significant difference between the experimental group and control group in terms of the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills. Conclusion : We confirmed the possibility motion recognition-based occupational therapy could be effective in improving the physical self-efficacy, visual-motor integration ability, and play skills for patients who have neurodevelopmental disorder. Based on the study result, further future studies are expected based on this study result that prove the application effect of the motion recognition-based occupational therapy using disabled and non- disabled children as subjects are expected in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the cause-effect relationship between demographic variables and self-efficacy and job stress of occupational therapists through the analysis of structural equation modeling. The survey was completed 164 occupational therapists using questionnaire consisted of demographic variables, job stress and self-efficacy. The results of this study were follows: Firstly, regarding the measurement about reliability and validity of scale of job stress and self-efficacy, all subfactor of self-efficacy and three subfactor of job stress were useful for occupational therapists; Secondly, there were significant correlations between demographic variables and self-efficacy except the correlations between variables job status; Thirdly, the structural equation modeling were employed to identify the relations among demographic variables, self-efficacy and job stress of occupational therapists. Thus the appropriateness of research model was good. This study focused on exploration of the relationship between self-efficacy and job stress through structural equation modeling.

The subjects of this survey were 138 occupational therapists who perform occupational therapy. From October 13th till November 2nd, 2011, a structuralized questionnaire was used to collect data. The results of this study were follows: First, the occupational therapists' mean score of burn-out was 2.12(range: 0-6), and the mean score of professional self-concept and self-efficacy were 2.64(range: 1-4) and 3.56(range: 1-5). Second, according to the general characteristics of the occupational therapists, burn-out showed significant difference by treatment hours per day, duty to work on Saturdays, aptitude and religion. Third, professional self-concept had positive correlation with self-efficacy. And professional self-concept and self-efficacy showed negative correlation with burn-out. Fourth, chief variables affecting occupational therapists' burn-out were professional self-concept and religion. Therefore it is necessary to reduce occupational therapists' burn-out and improve the services of their occupational therapy qualitatively by developing programs to enhance their professional self-concept.
