  • Cycloidal ball planetary transmission (CBPT) has many applications as precision reducer, such as precision machinery and automation drive systems etc. The traditional analytical model of CBPT cannot accurately describe the change of the normal force of meshing points, and thus cannot describe the precise transmission process of meshing pairs. In the paper, a method for deriving the normal force equation is put forward by using the non-linear relationship between force and deformation in elastic mechanics. The two-point contact analytical models of all the meshing pairs are established to obtain the micro-displacement analytical model of CBPT under axial pre-tightening. Then, the non-real-time two-point contact analytical models of all the meshing pairs are further constructed to obtain the normal force expression to determine the critical compression coefficients. Experimental investigations are performed to verify the analytical model using the critical compression coefficients.

  • Localization of sensor nodes is a key technology in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs). Trilateration is an important position determination strategy. To further improve the localization accuracy, a novel Trilateration based on Point In Triangle testing Localization (TPITL)algorithm is proposed in the paper. Unlike the traditional trilateration localization algorithm which randomly selects three neighbor anchors, the proposed TPITL algorithm selects three special neighbor anchors of the unknown node for trilateration. The three anchors construct the smallest anchor triangle which encloses the unknown node. To choose the optimized anchors, we propose Point In Triangle testing based on Distance(PITD) method, which applies the estimated distances for trilateration to reduce the PIT testing errors. Simulation results show that the PIT testing errors of PITD are much lower than Approximation PIT(APIT) method and the proposed TPITL algorithm significantly improves the localization accuracy.

  • When DG interconnection into network is examined, details of the review are overvoltage, protective device malfunction, etc. In the case of protective device malfunction, replacing protective device into bi-directional protective device and installation NGR are the solution. Overvoltage at interconnection point occurs because the load is relatively less than DG output. When overvoltage at interconnection point occurs, DG interconnection is not permitted because this overvoltage affect other customers. Interconnection by installation new distribution line is one solution but it costs much money. Without installation new investment, change of NOP(Normal Open Point) position is a possible solution about DG interconnection into network.

  • An inverse kinemetics problem of a reclaimer which digs and transports ironstones or coals in the raw yard is investigated. Because of the special features of the reclaimer of which scooping buckets are attached around the rotating drum at the end of boom, kinematic redundancy occurs in determining the joint varialbes For a given reclaiming point in space the forward kinematics yields 3 equations, however the number of involved variables in the equations are four. A plane equation approximating the surface near a reclaiming point is obtained by considering 8 adjacent points surrounding the reclaiming point. One extra equation to overcome redunduncyis further obtained from the condition that the normal vector at a reclaiming point is perpendicular to the plane. An approximate solution for a simplified problem is first discussed, Numerical solution for the oritinal nonlinear porblem with a constraint equation is also investigated. Finally a closed form solution which is not exact but sufficiently close enough is proposed by exploiting geometric constraint.

  • This paper presents a new method for generating smooth free-form surface by local correction. B-spline surface is used for its convenience of local correction, and the direction of surface correction is fixed to the average-surface-normal direction. The surface to be corrected is approximated into a uniform cubic B-spline surface. Then, the smoothness (curvature arrows, iso-parametric lines) of the approximated surface is displayed with B-spline control points. When a control point near the region that needs correction is selected, a new point 1 mm higher than the original control point in the direction of the average surface normal is displayed. And the surface is corrected by giving the amount of control point movement interactively. Since the direction of correction is given by the program and the amount of correction is selected by the user, the method is called semiautomatic. sufficiently smooth surface can be obtained by this method. Examples are given to illustrate the method.

  • A unified framework for statistical inference for the mean of the normal distribution to derive point estimates, confidence intervals and statistical tests is proposed. This optimal design is justified after investigating the basic information and requirements that are possible and impossible to control when specifying practical and statistical requirements. Point estimation is only credible when viewed in the larger context of interval estimation, since the information required for optimal point estimation is unspecifiable. Triple sampling is proposed and justified as a reasonable sampling vehicle to achieve the specifiable requirements within the unified framework.

  • In this paper, we define the modulus of n-dimensional U-flatness as the determinant of an $(n+1){\times}(n+1)$ matrix. The properties of the modulus are investigated and the relationships between this modulus and other geometric parameters of Banach spaces are studied. Some results on fixed point theory for non-expansive mappings and normal structure in Banach spaces are obtained.

  • Andras Bezdek proved that if a convex n-gon and n points are given, then the points and the sides of the polygon can be renumbered so that at least[${\frac{n}{3}}$] triangles spanned by the ith point and the ith side (i = 1,2,...n) are mutually non-overlapping. In this paper, we show that at least [${\frac{n}{2}}$] mutually non-overlapping triangles can be constructed. This lower bound is best possible.

  • In this paper we obtain some fixed points theorems of expansive mappings and several necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of common fixed points of families of self-mappings in metric spaces. Our results generalize and improve the main results of Fisher [1]-[5], Furi-Vignoli [6], $Is\'{e}ki$ [7], Jungck [8], [9], Kashara-Rhoades [10], Liu [13], [14] and Sharma and Strivastava [16].
