  • Since the smart factory has been recently recognized as an industrial core requirement, various mechanisms to ensure efficient and stable operation have attracted much attention. This attention is based on the fact that in a smart factory environment where operating processes, such as facility control, data collection, and decision making are automated, the disruption of processes due to problems such as facility anomalies causes considerable losses. Although many studies have considered methods to prevent such losses, few have investigated how to effectively apply the solutions. This study proposes a Kubernetes based system applied in a smart factory providing effective operation and facility management. To develop the system, we employed a useful and popular open source project, and adopted deep learning based anomaly detection model for multi-sensor anomaly detection. This can be easily modified without interruption by changing the container image for inference. Through experiments, we have verified that the proposed method can provide system stability through nondisruptive maintenance, monitoring and non-disruptive updates for anomaly detection models.

  • In this paper, we propose a memory operation system architecture for memory latency penalty reduction in SIMT architecture based stream processor. The proposed architecture applied non-blocking cache architecture to reduce cache miss penalty generated by blocking cache architecture. We verified that the proposed memory operation architecture improve the performance of the stream processor by comparing processing performances of various algorithms. We measured the performance improvement rate that was improved in accordance with the ratio of memory instruction in each algorithm. As a result, we confirmed that the performance of stream processor improves up to minimum 8.2% and maximum 46.5%.

  • The boundary evaluation technique for Boolean operation on non-manifold models which is regarded as the most popular and powerful method to create and modify 3-D CAD models has been developed. This technique adopted the concept of Merge and Selection in which the CSG tree for Boolean operation can be edited quickly and easily. In this method, the merged set which contains complete information about primitive models involved is created by merging primitives one by one, then the alive entities are selected following the given CSG tree. This technique can support the hybrid representation of B-rep(Boundary Representation) and CSG(Constructive Solid Geometry) tree in a unified non-manifold model data structure, and expected to be used as a basic method for many modeling problems such as data representation of form features, and the interference between them, and data representation of conceptual models in design process, etc.

  • Non-isolated OSAKA Converter, which removes a three-phase transformer, is described in this paper. The converter switches once in every half cycle of an AC commercial power source. Therefore, it can solve many problems caused by the high frequency operation. The proposed converter achieves the soft-switching operation and the EMI noise can be reduced. In this circuit, the resonant capacitor, which is used for the soft-switching operation, is utilized for the improvement of an input current waveform. To achieve low cost and compact structure, non-isolated OSAKA converter removes a three-phase transformer of the OSAKA converter. By removing the three-phase transformer, three phase currents occur the interferences each other. To avoid the interference, a new switching method for non-isolated OSAKA converter is preposed. The converter can be constructed by the low-speed large power devices. The converter generates the low distorted input current waveforms with high power factor.

  • In this study we conducted a research regarding the effect on learning immersion and perception of the learning environment by learning presence of students in the Department of aeronautical science and flight operation in the context of non-face-to-face lectures caused by COVID-19. The relationship between learning presence (cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence) and learning commitment showed a high correlation. The learning immersion was also found to increase when cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence increased in multiple regression analysis to find out the effects of cognitive presence, emotional presence, and social presence, which are sub-factors of learning presence. The advantage of non-face-to-face classes was to be the ease of learning, and the disadvantage of non-face-to-face classes was the most difficulty of the learning process in the content analysis of the non-face-to-face class environment.

  • The study aims to explore whether the management and operation of national technique qualification system has a suitable role division between the government and non-government and to design plans for building it. To do so, a direction for role division between the government and non-government was investigated in the management, national technique qualification system. In addition, limitations in the operation of government-centered qualification system were pointed out by analyzing the present status on the management and operation of national technique qualification system and plans for role division between the government and non-government were proposed in the management and operation of qualification system. Various methods were applied to this study as its methodology: the collection and analysis of the relevant literatures, surveys targeting companies(internal qualification managers) and associations by industrial classification(owners' groups) as respondents, holding expert consultations for setting a direction in dividing roles between the government and non-government, interviews with companies and associations by industrial classification for gathering their opinions, forming and operating a collaborative research group consisting of specialists in qualification system.

  • Due to large demand, the increase of fault current has caused the capacity of power machines in power grid to increase. Among several countermeasures, the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been noticed as one of the promising countermeasures to solve these problems. However, in spite of excellent current limiting performances of the SFCL, the application of SFCL to power system has been delayed due to both the limited space for the SFCL's installation and its longer recovery time after the fault removal. In order to solve these problems, a hybrid type SFCL was developed. In this paper, we studied the operation characteristics of the hybrid SFCL with first half cycle non-limiting operation by modelling using PSCAD/EMTDC and experiment. It was shown through the simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC and the simulated experiment that the fault current limiting and the fast recovery operations of the hybrid SFCL with the first half cycle non-limiting operation were achieved.

  • In this paper, the fuel economy of plug-in type hybrid electric vehicle is investigated through simulation. For the simulation study, 2 shaft type parallel hybrid powertrain is chosen and its operation modes are described. The operation algorithm which yields operation points of minimal fuel cost is suggested. Dynamic model fur operation of HEV and simulation procedure is described. Simulation results of fuel economy is compared to non plug-in type HEV as well as conventional vehicle. With total driving distance of 37km and full usage of 2kwh of electric energy stored in battery pack, plug-in type HEV shows 28-30% improved fuel economy compared to non plug-in type HEV and 86-93% improved fuel economy compared to conventional vehicle.

  • The present work has developed non-electric and delay-type explosive bolt that does not need electric power supply device and has the delay function in the operation. Non-electric power supply system enables separation device system to be minimized. In order to prove the mechanism of the operation, the power of air resistance caused from aviation object used to ignite the initiator. we can be founded from the present work that the changes in the operation load influence directly the ignition of the initiator. The design of non-electric and delay type of explosive bolt is the most suitable for the separation system that is necessary to reduce the velocity of aviation object and safe landing of parachute system.

  • To avoid undesirable disconnection of healthy wind generators (WGs) or a wind power plant, a WG protection relay should discriminate among faults, so that it can operate instantaneously for WG, connected feeder or connection bus faults, it can operate after a delay for inter-tie or grid faults, and it can avoid operating for parallel WG or adjacent feeder faults. A WG protection relay based on the positive- and negative-sequence fault components is proposed in the paper. At stage 1, the proposed relay uses the magnitude of the positive-sequence component in the fault current to distinguish faults requiring non-operation response from those requiring instantaneous or delayed operation responses. At stage 2, the fault type is first determined using the relationships between the positive- and negative-sequence fault components. Then, the relay differentiates between instantaneous operation and delayed operation based on the magnitude of the positive-sequence fault component. Various fault scenarios involving changes in position and type of fault and faulted phases are used to verify the performance of the relay. This paper concludes by implementing the relay on a hardware platform based on a digital signal processor. Results indicate that the relay can successfully distinguish the need for instantaneous, delayed, or non-operation.
