  • This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of disc brake system under constant friction coefficient. A linear, lumped and distributed parameter model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. The complex eigenvalues are used to investigate the dynamic stability and in order to verify simulations which are based on the theoretical model, the experimental modal test and the dynamometer test are performed. The comparison of experimental and theoretical results shows a good agreement and the analysis indicates that mode coupling due to friction force is responsible for disc brake squeal. And squeal type instability is investigated by using the parametric analysis. This indicates parameters which have influence on the propensity of brake squeal. This helped to validate the analysis model and establish confidence in the analysis results. Also they may be useful during system development or diagnostic analysis.

  • This paper is focused on the frictionally induced thermoelastic instability (TEI) in automotive disk brakes. This instability leads to the formation of localized high temperature contact regions known as hot spots. This article investigates the themoelastic instability in automotive disk brake systems consisting of a finite thickness layer (disk) and two half-planes (pads) using a perturbation method. The antisymmetric mode involves hot spots located alternately on two sides of the disk. As a result the circumferentially periodic hot spots produce rotor surface distortion and Induce low frequency vibration. Also the effects of system parameters on the critical speed for TEI are investigated.

  • Squeal, a kind of self-excited vibration, is generated by the friction between the disc and the friction materials. It occurs at the ending stage of the braking process, and radiates and audible frequency range of 1 kHz to 10 kHz. Squeal is generated from unstability because of the coupling between the translation and rotation of the system. This instability is caused by the follower force and follower force is normal component of the friction force. In this paper modal analysis of wheel brake system was performed in order to predict the squeal phenomenon. It was shown that the prediction of system instability is possible by FEM. A finite element model of that brake system was made. Some parts of a real brake was selected and modeled. Modal analysis method performs analyses of each brake system component. Experimental modal analysis was performed for each brake components and experimental results were compared with analytical results from FEM. To predict the dynamic unstability of a whole system, the complex eigenvalue analysis for assembly modeling of components confirmed by modal analysis is performed. The finite element models of the disk brake assembly have been constructed, and the squeal noise problems have been solved by complex eigenvalue analysis. The complex eigenvalue analysis results compared with real train test.

13 km 광섬유를 통하여 원격지로 전송된 1.4 GHz RF 신호의 위상잡음 제거 (Cancellation of Phase Noise in 1.4 GHz RF Signal Transferred to a Remote Site through 13 km Fiber)

  • 13 km 광섬유를 통해 1.4 GHz의 기준 주파수를 전송할 때, 광섬유에서 발생하는 위상잡음을 제거하는 시스템을 구성하였다. 전송된 주파수의 안정도 성능은 실험장치의 온도변화폭에 의존하였다. 실험실의 온도변화폭이 $0.3^{\circ}C$ 이내로 유지되는 동안에는 광섬유의 위상잡음을 제거했을 때, 원격지에 전송된 신호가 0.8초의 평균 시간에서 $4.6{\times}10^{-14}$, 1000초의 평균 시간에서 $2.5{\times}10^{-16}$의 상대주파수 전송 안정도를 보여 만족할 만한 결과이었으나, 실험실의 온도가 $3.5^{\circ}C$ 범위로 변할 때에는, 1.2초의 평균 시간에서 $6.8{\times}10^{-14}$, 1000초의 평균 시간에서 $3.0{\times}10^{-15}$의 전송 안정도를 보였다. 이 결과로부터 1000초의 평균시간에서 $10^{-16}$ 수준의 상대주파수 안정도를 얻기 위해서 요구되는 실험장치의 온도 안정도 조건을 제시할 수 있었다.

  • The effect of a concentrated mass on the regions of dynamic instability of an axially oscillating cantilever beam is investigated in this paper. The equations of motion are derived using Kane's method and the assumed mode method. It is found that the bending stiffness is harmonically varied by axial inertia forces due to oscillating motion. Under the certain conditions between oscillating frequency and the natural frequencies, dynamic instability may occur and the magnitude of the bending vibration increase without bound. By using the multiple time scales method, the regions of dynamic instability are obtained. The regions of dynamic instability are found to be depend on the magnitude of a concentrated mass or its location.

  • A Voltage Instability Predictor(VIP) estimates the proximity of a power system to voltage collapse in real time. Voltage Instability Index(Z-index) from VIP algorithm is estimated using LS(Least Square) method. But this method has oscillations and noise of result due to the system's changing conditions. To suppress oscillations, a larger data window needs to be used. In this paper. I propose the new other method which improves that weakness. It uses RLS(Recursive Least Square) to estimate voltage instability index without a large moving data window so this method is suitable for on-line monitor and control in real time. In order to verify effectiveness of the algorithm using RLS method, the method is tested on HydroQuebec system in real time digital simulator(HYPERSIM).

  • 한국형발사체에 적용되는 액체로켓엔진은 가스발생기 개방형 엔진 사이클을 채택한다. 가스발생기에서 연소 불안정이 발생하면 연소 성능이 변하고 진동, 소음 등의 문제점을 야기하거나 하드웨어의 손상을 초래할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 액체로켓엔진의 가스발생기를 개발하면서 나타난 연소불안정 경험 사례를 소개하고자 한다.
