The Perpectives of Family Resource Management Education in Social Education (사회교육에서의 가족자원관리교육의 전개방향)

  • This study is to suggest the perspectives of family resource management education in social education. From this purpose, necessity and position of FRM education in social education are discussed. And the perspectives about FRM education are presented from delphi research to experts. This perspectives contain the purpose, sphere, relation to existing programs, education for housewife, future tasks. Finally, several names of education program are illustrated in two dimension, which is divided into consciousness-raising and technique-learning in content and personal and family in object.

Science Education Experts' Perceptions about Necessity and Elements of Character Education in Science Education (과학교육에서 인성교육의 필요성 및 인성의 구인에 대한 전문가의 인식)

  • Recently it has been claimed that character education should be applied not only in ethics but also in other disciplines including science education. With several attempts at character education in previous research on science education, the examination of its requisite and components is needed. This research investigates the necessity and elements of character education to be improved upon in science classes through questionnaires and focus interviews of experts in the field of science education such as secondary school teachers, professors, and researchers. They recognize that character education should be adopted in science education with three backgrounds: scientist activities, the field of secondary school, and inquiry education. Based on moral education and citizenship, elements of character education in science class are comprised of four essential character elements including honesty, sympathy, tolerance, and self-esteem, and seven practical character elements that are divided into personal qualities: sincerity, responsibility, and self-control and social qualities: consideration, openness, communication, and cooperation. Their validity and importance are accepted by experts.

  • The potential risks of Korean public security has been increasing by economic stagnation. As a result of this, a feeling of unrest about our society causes expansion of private security industry as well as necessity of professional education. It has been 15years to produce security expert in colleges which is professional education institute, and academic efforts and contributions to society are shown remarkable results for the period. A private security industry had got public interest as a potential favorable job, because of increasing dependence of public to take care of unrest facts. Many colleges have introduced courses about public security because of facing necessity of professional education system. Then total 59 institutes including 22 universities and 37 colleges introduce courses of public security. Although name of courses are diverse depends on institution, purpose of course or members of course, the ultimate purpose of these courses is preventing public from crimes and managing public security. A fixed and out of date education system of universities in Korea can not produce talent person who people, companies and government want. The institutions have been recruiting many student so far, and it shows growth of the industry in quantity aspects. However quality aspect of the industry has been failed because it is hard to get a job for graduated students. Consequently, to improve quality of the industry people need cooperation of institution, professors and students.

A Study on Research of Necessity and Practice of Contents of Clothing and Textiles Education (의생활 교육내용의 필요도와 실천도 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate to relation of necessity and practice of contents of clothing and textiles education(classify them into four units, choice and dressing of clothes, textile and management of clothes, design and sewing of clothes, knitting and embroidery). Method of posing a questionnaire is adopted to obtain stochastic data required for pertinent analysis. This is the investigation of which 400 (high school students 204, university students 196) girl students located in Choongnam and Junrabookdo province. In this statistical analysis, SPSS 10.0 for Windows Program was utilized to calculate percentage, mean and standard deviation. Also, these materials were verified by t-test, One-way Anova, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of this research were as follows. First, girl students' necessity mean point were higher than practice mean point about the contents of clothing and textiles education. And necessity had a positive relationship with practices of contents of clothing and textiles education. Second, there was a significant difference in necessity and practice of contents of clothing and textiles education according to demographic variables. These results should be provide fundamental information for improving students' critical practice in their real life. Effects of Informatization Mind on Information Development Efforts and Academic Achievement of University Students Major in Sports

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of informatization minds of college students majoring in sports on information development efforts and academic achievement. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on 200 college students majoring in physical education at D University, and 197 students were selected as the final effective samples. Data processing was conducted using SPSS 23 for frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results are as follows: First, recognition of the necessity of informatization education, a subfactor of the informatization mind, has a positive impact on informatino development efforts. Second, recognition of the necessity of informatization education, understanding and utilization of informatization concepts among sub-factors of informatization minds have a positive impact on the major learning achievement. Third, all the conversational factors in the informatization mind have a positive impact on study problem resolution. Fourth, information development efforts have a positive impact on the major learning achievement and the study problem resolution. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the information mindset of college students major in sports.

Mathematical Giftedness and the Need of Mathematics Specialists in Elementary Grades

  • The change of the developed countries to highly technological societies continuously requires that they nurture and use the full potential of mathematically and scientifically talented people. As this is a process that should start early in order to be efficient, the main responsibility of identifying and addressing the specific needs of these people is assigned to public school systems and, in particular, to elementary teachers. In this regard, three significant areas of concern arise and are discussed in this paper: (a) The complexity in identifying mathematically promising and mathematically talented elementary students; (b) The highly responsible and difficult task for elementary teachers to differentiate and serve the mathematically promising students within an inclusive classroom; and (c) The need of teachers with specialized training and mathematics knowledge in pre-high school grades. The last one should be considered predominantly as a logical consequence of the first two. The main goal and, hence, the purpose of the paper is to promote understanding of this crucial necessity of mathematics specialists and to advocate for a change in this direction.

  • This study carried out surveys for 197 nail shop practitioners and 195 customers 1) to study the real condition of their hygiene awareness and safety consciousness and 2) to grasp their awareness of the necessity of legislating a related bill so as to build an independent domain of business and to propose data on the national qualification system of nail care. As a result, it was found that the level of the nail care practitioners' experiences of safety education was very low, and that the customers attached importance to the necessity of nail salon practitioners' certificate and license and the nail treatment-related bill more than the nail care practitioners themselves. In conclusion, the preparation of a nail art-related bill is required at the state level for the management of the safety and hygiene of national health, and systematic and regular education related to hygiene should be carried out.

A Study of Undergraduates식 Consciousness for Environmental Problems (대학생들의 환경문제 의식에 관한 연구)

  • This study was attempted to analyze sophomores' consciousness for environmental problems. In order to achieve this purpose, a method of questionnaire was administered to total 387 students selected from four universities in Busan. There were surveyed questions as follows, the conception of environmental problems, the condition of dwelling place and surrounding of home, the problems of environmental pollution, knowledge and concern for environmental problems, necessity of environmental education of school, and the environmental policy in Korea. Most students responded that the most serious environmental problem is water pollution. Most respondents have recognition the necessity of schooling for environmental education, whereas current-contents of environmental education are not enough to modify students' attitude and behavior.

Seoul Elementary School Students' Perception and Information Needs on Artificial Food Colorants (서울지역 초등학생의 인공식용색소에 대한 인식 및 정보요구도)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions, intake levels and information needs of elementary school students on artificial food colorants in order to provide better understanding and proper dietary education to these students. From May to June 2010, a survey was conducted from 315 elementary school students at fifth and sixth grade level who were living in Seoul. The questionnaire was distributed by 14 elementary school teachers to their classroom students. The results showed that food safety was regarded as the most important factor in purchasing food items, and artificial food colorants were the most interested among various food additives. Although there was a lack of general knowledge and the students' estimated intake levels of artificial food colorants from processed foods were comparatively low, most (82.7%) believed that artificial food colorants were dangerous for health. The information they wanted to know most was the safety, necessity, and function of artificial food colorants, in order. Above results suggested the necessity of providing accurate information on artificial food colorants to elementary school students possibly by developing educational materials which can improve the perceptions on artificial food colorants and encourage a safe dietary life.

Continuing education for reference librarians in academic libraries (대학도서관의 참고사서을 위한 계속교육)

  • The purpose of this study is to synthesize the theoretical systems concerning the necessity, methods, contents, and institutions of the continuing education for academic reference librarians in Korea, and to present a direction after performing a survey research to the librarians and grasping the phenomena on the basis of the system. The necessity, participation, contents, and performing institutions of continuing education were examined in detail, and the correlations among the sub-groups divided by gender, age, academic level of study, career as a librarian were analyzed. Also the direction of continuing education for reference librarians was presented on the basis of the analysis. On the basis of the analyzed contents, the following three methods for an ideal form to the continuing education of the reference librarians were presented in this thesis. 1) It is desirable that the continuing educations are performed at a professionalized institutions such as a library and information science department in a college and an education center for librarians which offers the Certificates of Advanced Study(CAS) as a librarian. 2) It is necessary to develop the various types of educational program in which a working reference librarian may take more chances to study during vacation, weekends, or in the evening time. 3) It is necessary to develop the proper educational contents that reference librarians want, and to educate the librarians in order for them to keep pace with the change of times.
