  • A methodology is developed and used to evaluate the response sensitivity of the thermal systems to variations in their design parameters. Technique for computing the sensitivity of temperature distributions to changes in processing parameters needed to decide the more effective laser input parameters for laser surface hardening treatment is considered. In this study, a state equation governing the heat flow in laser surface treatment is analyzed using a three-dimensional finite element method and sensitivity data of the processing parameter obtained using a direct differentiation method is applied to the sensitivity analysis. The interesting processing parameters are taken as the laser scan velocity and laser beam radius ( $r_{ b}$), and the sensitivities of the temperature T versus v and $r_{b}$ are analyzed. These sensitivity results are obtained with another parameters fixed. To verify the numerical analysis results, hardened layer dimensions (width and depth) of the numerical analysis are compared with the experimental ones.nes.

  • Named entities (NEs) are important in many Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications, and discovering NE-related relations in texts may be beneficial for these applications. This paper proposes a method to extract the ISA relation between a "named entity" and its category, and an IS-RELATED-TO relation between the category and its related object. Based on the pattern extraction algorithm "Person Category Extraction" (PCE), we extend it for solving our problem. Our experiments on Wall Street Journal (WSJ) corpus show promising results. We also demonstrate a possible application of these relations by utilizing them for semantic search.

독성지수를 산정하기 위해 Cf(사람이 30분간 노출시에 사망할 수 있는 가스의 농도)를 기준으로 하였다.

  • The molecular mechanisms by which a variety of naturally-occurring dietary compounds exert chemopreventive effects have been a subject of intense scientific investigations. Induction of phase II detoxification and anti-oxidant enzymes through activation of Nrf2/ARE-dependent gene is recognized as one of the major cellular defense mechanisms against oxidative or xenobiotic stresses and currently represents a critical chemopreventive mechanism of action. In the present review, the functional significance of Keap1/Nrf2 protein module in regulating ARE-dependent phase II detoxification and anti-oxidant gene expression is discussed. The biochemical mechanisms underlying the phosphorylation and expression of Keap1/Nrf2 proteins that are controlled by the intracellular signaling kinases and ubiquitin-mediated E3 ligase system as well as control of nucleocytoplasmic translocation of Nrf2 by its innate nuclear export signal (NES) are described.

  • This study analyzed the performance of new construction technology in construction site. The main results are as follows. First, 83.6% of the new technologies developed by SMEs(joint development by large enterprises) account for the majority. Second, new construction technology is mainly applied to construction and civil engineering, but it is mainly applied to four major types of work(waterproofing, soil and foundation, reinforced concrete, bridge). Third, the number of on-site applications with a construction value of less than 500 million accounted for 89.5% of the total, which indicates that new construction techniques are mainly applied to small-scale construction.

  • We show that Cdc6, an essential initiation factor for DNA replication, undergoes caspase-3-mediated cleavage in the early stages of apoptosis in HeLa cells and SK-HEP-1 cells induced by etoposide, paclitaxel, ginsenoside Rh2, or TRAIL. The cleavage occurs at the SEVD$\^$442//G motif and generates an N-terminal truncated Cdc6 fragment (p49-tCdc6) that lacks the carboxy-terminal nuclear export sequence (NES). Cdc6 is known to be phosphorylated by cyclin A-Cyclin A-dependent kinase 2 (Cdk2), an event that promotes its exit from the nucleus and probably blocks it from initiating inappropriate DNA replication. • A Green's function approach is adopted to solve the two-dimensional thermoelastic problem of a thin hollow circular disk. Initially, the disk is kept at temperature T0(r, z). For times t > 0, the inner and outer circular edges are thermally insulated and the upper and lower surfaces of the disk are subjected to convection heat transfer with convection coefficient hc and fluid temperature T∞, while the disk is also subjected to the axisymmetric heat source. As a special case, different metallic disks have been considered. The results for temperature and thermal deflection has been computed numerically and illustrated graphically.
