  • By using the multidimensional normal approximation of functionals of Gaussian fields, we prove that functionals of Gaussian fields, as functions of t, converge weakly to a standard Brownian motion. As an application, we consider the convergence of the Stratonovich-type Riemann sums, as a function of t, of fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter H = 1/4.

  • We give a theorem of the existence of the multiple solutions of the Hamiltonian system with the square growth nonlinearity. We show the existence of m solutions of the Hamiltonian system when the square growth nonlinearity satisfies some given conditions. We use critical point theory induced from the invariant function and invariant linear subspace.

  • In this paper, we consider a discrete fractional nonlinear boundary value problem in which nonlinear term f is involved with the fractional order difference. We transform the fractional boundary value problem into boundary value problem of integer order difference equation. By using a generalization of Leggett-Williams fixed-point theorem due to Avery and Peterson, we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three positive solutions.

  • The diffraction of waves by three bottom fixed vertical circular cylinders is investigated by using the boundary element method. This method has been successfully applied to the isolated vertical circular cylinder and now is used to study the interaction between waves and multiple vertical cylinders. In this paper, a numerical analysis by the boundary element method is developed by the linear potential theory. The numerical analysis by the boundary element method is based on Green's second theorem and introduced to an integral equation for the fluid velocity potential around the vertical circular cylinders. To verify this method, the results obtained in present study are compared with the results computed by the multiple scattering method. The results of the comparisons show strong agreement. Also in this paper, several numerical examples are given to illustrate the effects of various parameters on the wave exciting force such are the separation distance, the wave number and the incident wave angle. This numerical computation method might be used broadly for the design of various offshore structures to be constructed in the future.

  • Reliability and sensitivity analysis of the design parameters for a section of caisson type quaywall which is the most applicable in Korea were performed. It was tried to estimate probabilities of failure for the system of the multiple failure modes and to analyze LCC in the quaywall structure. The reliability analysis was performed by FORM. Also, sensitivity indices were estimated using the reliability indices, which may be used inferring effects of each design parameter on the reliability indices. As a result, the coefficient of friction between caisson and rubble, the moment by self weight and the moment of resistance mostly affected on the reliability indices in the sliding, overturning and foundation failure, respectively. System reliability theorem was applied in order to estimate the probabilities of failure for the system of the multiple failure modes. As the results of estimation of the probabilities of failure for the system, all cases were more conservative than those for the elements, according to both failure mode and load combination applied to series system. It entirely exceeded the target reliability index, but it was consistent with the theorem. According to the optimum LCC with the width of the caisson, the probability of failure exceeded the target probability of failure at then time. Therefore, it was judged to be insufficient to the practical application.

  • In this paper we extend the two q-additions with powers in the umbrae, define a q-multinomial-coefficient, which implies a vector version of the q-binomial theorem, and an arbitrary complex power of a JHC power series is shown to be equivalent to a special case of the first q-Lauricella function. We then present several q-analogues of hypergeometric integral formulas from the two books by Exton and the paper by Choi and Rathie. We also find multiple q-analogues of hypergeometric integral formulas from the recent paper by Kim. Finally, we prove several multiple q-hypergeometric integral formulas emanating from a paper by Koschmieder, which are special cases of more general formulas by Exton.

  • In this paper, a new pre-processing algorithm is proposed to improve the performance of stereo acoustic echo canceller. The proposed algorithm has the improved performance by the estimation error reduction of filter coefficient using input signal which was reduced reverberation of room in the basis MINT (Mu1tip1e-input/output Inverse Theorem) filtering. For real stereo speech signal and real room impulse response the results of simulation, we showed that the proposed method could improved 3∼5 dB ERLE (Echo Return Loss Enhancement) regardless of NLMS (Normalized Least Mean Square) and Projection adaptive algorithm.

  • This paper is concerned with the quasilinear $Schr{\ddot{o}}dinger$ system $$(0.1)\;\{-{\Delta}u+a(x)u-{\Delta}(u^2)u=Fu(u,v)+h(x)\;x{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^N,\\-{\Delta}v+b(x)v-{\Delta}(v^2)v=Fv(u,v)+g(x)\;x{\in}{\mathbb{R}}^N,$$ where $N{\geq}3$. The potential functions $a(x),b(x){\in}L^{\infty}({\mathbb{R}}^N)$ are bounded in ${\mathbb{R}}^N$. By using mountain pass theorem and the Ekeland variational principle, we prove that there are at least two solutions to system (0.1).

  • We prove the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for a fourth order problem ${\Delta}^2u+c{\Delta}u={\alpha}u-{\beta}(u+1)^-$ in ${\Omega}$, ${\Delta}u=0$ and $u=0$ on ${\partial}{\Omega}$, where ${\lambda}_1{\leq}c{\leq}{\lambda}_2$ (where $({\lambda}_i)_{i{\geq}1}$ is the sequence of the eigenvalues of $-{\Delta}$ in$H_0^1({\Omega})$) and ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$. The results are proved by applying minimax arguments and linking theory.
