We fabricated MHOS (multi-HTS layers on one substrate) high-temperature superconducting (HTS) REBCO conductors using HTS REBCO coated conductor (CC) A-specimen, which induces an artificial magnetic flux pinning effect, and HTS REBCO CC B-specimen, that does not induce this effect. The superconducting magnetic properties of the fabricated MHOS conductors were examined by measuring their magnetic moment m(H) curves using a physical property measurement system (QD PPMS-14). The critical current density (Jc) characteristics of our four-layered MHOS HTS REBCO conductor specimens such as BAAB, BBBB, and AAAA were lower than those of their two-layered and three-layered counterparts. At a temperature T of 30 K the magnetic flux pinning physical indicator δ values (obtained from the relationship Jc ∝ H-δ) of the three-layer ABA (δ = 0.35) and two-layer AB (δ = 0.43) specimens were found to be significantly lower than those of the four-layer ABBA (δ = 0.51), BAAB (δ = 0.60), AAAA (δ = 0.78) and BBBB (δ = 0.81) structures.

We present optical and microphysical particle properties of aerosol retrieved by multi-wavelength Raman lidar at Anmyun island ($36.32^{\circ}N$, $126.19^{\circ}E$), Korea. The results present aerosol properties in various height layers of the atmospheric pollution layers observed over the Korean peninsula on eight consecutive days (27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 May, 4, 5 and 7 June) in 2005 at Anmyun island. We found anthropogenic pollution on 27, 28, and 29 May and local haze on other measurement days. The origin of the particle plumes was determined by simulations of FLEXPART. The source regions of the particles resulted in rather clear differences between the optical and microphysical properties of the pollution layers. The single-scattering albedo of anthropogenic aerosols from China ($0.91{\pm}0.01$ at 532 nm) were lower than the single-scattering albedo of local haze aerosols ($0.95{\pm}0.01$ at 532 nm). Local haze aerosols show larger effective radii of $0.24{\pm}0.02\;{\mu}m$ at relative humidity of 55~75%. The effective radii of anthropogenic aerosols are $0.20{\pm}0.2\;{\mu}m$ and $0.27\;{\mu}m$ at relative humidity of 25~50%.

In this paper, we propose an algorithm for estimating media characteristics of sea water and subbottom multi-layers. The proposed algorithm for estimating reflection coefficients, uses a transmitted signal and reflected signal obtained from multiple layers of various shape and structure, and the algorithm is called Schur algorithm. The algorithm is efficient in estimating the reflection coefficients since it finds solution by converting the given inverse scattering problem into matrix factorization. To verify the proposed algorithm, we generate a transmit signal and reflected signal obtained from lattice filter model for sea water and subbottom of multi-level non-homogeneous layers, and then find that the proposed algorithm can estimate reflection coefficients efficiently.

In this paper, an efficient 4K and 8K UHD(Ultra High Definition) transmission scheme is proposed on the convergence networks with broadcasting and LTE(Long Term Evolution) by using CoMP(Coordinated Multi-Point). A video data is compressed and divided into BL(Base Layer), E(Enhanced layer)1, E2 and E3 by scalable HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding). The divided layers can be combined by the scalable HEVC such as mobile HD, full HD, 4K and 8K UHD(Ultra High Definition). The divided layers are transmitted through the convergence networks with DVB-T2(Digital Video Broadcasting-$2^{nd}$ Generation Terrestrial) broadcasting system and LTE CoMP. This scheme transmits mobile HD and full HD layers through DVB-T2 broadcasting system by using M-PLP(Multiple-physical Layer Pipes), and adaptively transmits 4K or 8K UHD layer through LTE CoMP with MMT(MPEG Media Transport) server. An adaptive transmitting and receiving scheme in the LTE CoMP system provides 4K or 8K UHD layer to a user according to the user status. The proposed scheme is verified by showing the system-level simulation results which is better BER(bit-error-rate) performance than the conventional scheme. The results show that the proposed scheme provides the stable video contents to the user especially at the cell edge.

In designing multi-core processors, interconnection delay is one of the major constraints in performance improvement. To solve this problem, the 3-dimensional integration technology has been adopted in designing multi-core processors. The 3D multi-core architecture can reduce the physical wire length by stacking cores vertically, leading to reduced interconnection delay and reduced power consumption. However, the power density of 3D multi-core architecture is increased significantly compared to the traditional 2D multi-core architecture, resulting in the increased temperature of the processor. In this paper, the floorplan methods which change the forms of vertical placement of the core and the level-2 cache are analyzed to solve the thermal problems in 3D multi-core processors. According to the experimental results, it is an effective way to reduce the temperature in the processor that the core and the level-2 cache are stacked adjacently. Compared to the floorplan where cores are stacked adjacently to each other, the floorplan where the core is stacked adjacently to the level-2 cache can reduce the temperature by 22% in the case of 4-layers, and by 13% in the case of 2-layers.

It is usual that underground structures are constructed within multi-layered medium. In this paper, an efficient numerical model ling of multi-layered structural systems is studied using coupled analysis of finite elements and boundary elements. The finite elements are applied to the area in which the material nonlinearity is dominated, and the boundary elements are applied to the far field area where the nonlinearity is relatively weak. In the boundary element model 1 ins of the multi-layered medium, fundamental solutions are restricted. Thus, methods which can utilize existing Kelvin and Melan solution are sought for the interior multi-layered domain problem and semi infinite domain problem. Interior domain problem which has piecewise homogeneous layers is analyzed using boundary elements with Kelvin solution; by discretizing each homogeneous subregion and applying compatibility and equilibrium conditions between interfaces. Semi-infinite domain problem is analyzed using boundary elements with Melan solution, by superposing unit stiffness matrices which are obtained for each layer by enemy method. Each methodology is verified by comparing its results which the results from the finite element analysis and it is concluded that coupled analysis using boundary elements and finite elements can be reasonable and efficient if the superposition technique is applied for the multi-layered semi-infinite domain problems.
In this paper, the multi-point hydrogen detection system based on the combination of the hetero-core optical fiber SPR hydrogen tip sensor and interrogator by pseudorandom noise (PN) code correlation reflectometry has been developed. In a light intensity-based experiment with an LED operating at 850 nm, it has been presented that a transmitted loss change of 0.32dB was induced with a response time of 25 s for 4% $H_2$ in $N_2$ in the case of the 25-nm Au, 60-nm $Ta_2O_5$, and 5-nm Pd multi-layers film. The proposed sensor characteristic shows excellent reproducibility in terms of loss level and time response for the in- and out- $H_2$ action. In addition, in the experiment for multi-point hydrogen detection, all sensors show the real-time response for 4% hydrogen adding with reproducible working. As a result, the real-time multi-point hydrogen detection could be realized by means of the combination of interrogating system and hetero-core optical fiber SPR hydrogen tip sensors.

The mechanical property of a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is subjected to two elements, carbon fiber and polymer resin, in a first step and the selection of multi-layered structure is second one. Many combination of fabric layers, i.e. plainweave, twillweave, can be derived for candidates of test specimen used for a basic mechanical components so that a reliable identification of dynamic nature of possible multi-layered structures are essential during the development of CFRP based component system. In this paper, three kinds of multi-layered structure specimens were prepared and the dynamic characteristics of service specimens were conducted through classical modal test process with impact hammer. In addition, the design sensitivity analysis based on transmissibility function was applied for the measured response data so that the response sensitivity for each resonance frequency were compared for three CFRP test specimens. Finally, the evaluation of CFRP specimen over different multi-layered fabric structures are commented from the experimental consequences.
Recently, spatial data integration for geoscientific application has been regarded as an important task of various geoscientific applications of GIS. Although much research has been reported in the literature, quantitative assessment of the spatial interrelationship between input data layers and an integrated layer has not been considered fully and is in the development stage. Regarding this matter, we propose here, methodologies that account for the spatial interrelationship and spatial patterns in the spatial integration task, namely a multi-buffer zone analysis and a statistical analysis based on a contingency table. The main part of our work, the multi-buffer zone analysis, was addressed and applied to reveal the spatial pattern around geological source primitives and statistical analysis was performed to extract information for the assessment of an integrated layer. Mineral potential mapping using multi-source geoscience data sets from Ogdong in Korea was applied to illustrate application of this methodology.

This study is to determine the effects of PCM concentration on the temperature changes of the air layers of a garment when the environmental temperature changes. The selected PCM was Nonadecane and coated on cotton fabrics with PCM concentrations 10%, 20%, and 30%. The temperature changes of the air layers between fabrics were measured by Human-Clothing-Environment Simulator which measure a dynamic heat transfer. After stabilizing at $34^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour, the multi layered garment system were exposed to $5^{\circ}C$ or $10^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes and then, exposed to $34^{\circ}C$ for 30minutes. The results like following could be obtained. When the environmental temperature changed high to low, temperature of the air layer increased by heating effect of PCM. In the contrast, when the environmental temperature changed low to high, the temperature increase of the air layer was delayed because of cooling effect by PCM. Also, the more concentration of PCM, the bigger the heating effect. Cooling effect showed more clearly at PCM concentration 20%. The temperature differences of the air layers between with PCM fabrics and with non-PCM fabrics were bigger at $10^{\circ}C$ than at $5^{\circ}C$. Consequently, though PCM has influenced on the temperature of the air layer by heating and cooling effect, those effects haven't shown in all layers equally. It was shown that the effect of PCM varied according to the layer in the case of multi layered garment system and heat gain as well as heat loss in the outermost layer had to be taken into account.
