  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the experience of urinary incontinence (UI) for elderly Korean women using a narrative approach. Methods: The data were collected using individual in-depth interviews with 15 communitydwelling elderly women who had UI for at least 1 yr. The narratives of the life stories of these women were analyzed from the actor’s perspective, motivation and purpose of actions, and action toward goal achievement. Also the narratives on UI were analyzed according to cognition, behavior, and evaluation of UI. Results: Three major types of the life stories emerged from the analysis. First, the conquest narrative type reflects active characteristics of narrators within the circumstances of the sociocultural context. Second, the patience narrative is characterized as having flexibility between self determination for goal achievement and the boundary of the sociocultural context. Lastly, the compliance narrative reflected characteristics of narrators who easily adapt their way of life to circumstances. In terms of UI, the narrators in all three types lacked awareness of UI as an illness condition. Three different reasons are specifically identified according to the narrative types. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the concept and the illness behaviors related to UI in elderly Korean women with UI were closely related to the way of women's lives within the sociocultural and historical context.

This research is conducted on a survey using explanatory research. Data collection is carried out using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The questionnaire was conducted on employees of finance companies in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The selection of companies used as research is based on the similarity of the products being marketed. In Yogyakarta, there are 54 branch offices of finance companies that carry out business activities. However, of the 54 companies, ten have the same products being marketed, namely mortgage loans, investment loans, and multipurpose loans. In contrast, other finance companies focus more on motor vehicle loans—determining the number of samples obtained by multiplying by six times the number of indicators used. The sampling technique is done by purposive sampling with specific respondent criteria. In this study, analysis techniques, using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22. The results showed that the increase in employee performance was influenced by curiosity regarding independent employee behavior. • The purpose of this study is to investigate motivation to learn physics in order to understand engineering college students' physics learning. Therefore, in this study, 374 engineering students at the university located in Seoul were studied using the Physics Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ), which was a Science Motivation Questionnaire II modified into the context of learning physics. The PMQ is composed of five factors: intrinsic motivation, career motivation, self-determination, self-efficacy, and grade motivation. It involves 25 Likert scale items. Through exploratory factor analysis, PMQ confirms that the five factors are structurally valid in measuring the motivation of engineering students to learn physics. In addition, item fit (MNSQ) was also confirmed using a Rasch model analysis. The results show that grade motivation has the highest mean with 4.2, followed by job motivation mean with 3.76. The mean of intrinsic motivation was 3.42, the self-efficacy was 3.38, and self-determination was 3.32. The results of this study confirm that the physics learning motivation of engineering college students is characterized showing high external motivation related to job and grade. Therefore, we should try to develop the teaching strategy to increase intrinsic motivation by developing mastery goal orientation of physics learning for engineering students.

  • The effect of improving awareness by educational programs for improving the quality of daily life of the disabled and safety depends on the type of disability and individual differences, as well as the difficulty in evaluating education achievement and satisfaction. However, more effective programs can be developed and provided if the factors affecting the effectiveness of education can be identified. Training as one of the factors affecting effectiveness involves motivation. This is thought to be an important factor for any object regardless of the type of disability. It is recognized that "By providing programs for the disabled to immerse themselves, they can be motivated to participate in education and expect greater effects on educational effects." Gamification is convincing enough for general learning. Furthermore, a feature of gamification is the use of the game's structure to achieve its goal, which acts on participants' motivation. Some use game packages such as analog games and digital games, but some include gamification of activities themselves. The use of gamification in education has different characteristics from the development of businesses. Therefore, in this paper, we reviewed the current status and challenges with the aim of promoting the use of gamification in life safety education for the disabled.

  • The former study results demonstrate that differences between people of creativity and non-creativity lie in differences of the self-efficacies rather than those of cognitive aspects and a man of higher self-efficacy has a tendency to set up a higher goal of achievement and higher self-efficacy influences his or her achievement results as well (Zimmerman & Bandura 1994). Using the method of mathematical creative responses of open-ended approach (Lee, Hwang & Seo 2003), difference of mathematical self-efficacies has been surveyed in the study. Results of the survey showed that some students of a high mathematical self-efficacy even had bad marks in the originality or creativity but, in some cases, some students of a low mathematical self-efficacy rather had good marks in the fluency. Therefore, the response results mathematical creativity ability may be a special ability and not just a combination of self-efficacy ability. The fluency of the mathematical creative ability may be a combination of mathematical motivation ability that have been surveyed in the study suggest that not only cognitive components but also social and emotional components should be included in a development process of new creative method for teaching and learning mathematics.
