This study provides a comprehensive experimental study on the dynamic characteristics of a flexible matrix composite(FMC) driveshaft. A primary objective is to verify the analytic results of the FMC drivetrain based on the equivalent complex modulus approach and the classical lamination theory. A testrig has been constructed, which consists of a FMC shaft, a foundation beam, bearings, external dampers and a driving motor. The frequency response functions and transient responses are obtained from the external excitation and the spinup testings. It turns out that the analytic results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.

In this paper, the effect of absolute values on the behavior of functions f in the spaces $\mathcal{Q}_K$ is investigated. It is clear that $g{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}}){\Rightarrow}{\mid}g{\mid}{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}})$, but the converse is not always true. For f in the Hardy space $H^2$, we give a condition involving the modulus of the function only, such that the condition together with ${\mid}f{\mid}{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K({\partial}{\mathbb{D}})$ is equivalent to $f{\in}\mathcal{Q}_K$. As an application, a new criterion for inner-outer factorisation of $\mathcal{Q}_K$ spaces is given. These results are also new for $Q_p$ spaces.
In this paper, we give some results an upper bound of Hankel determinant of H2(1) for the classes of 𝓝 (𝜶). We get a sharp upper bound for H2(1) = c3 - c22 for 𝓝 (𝜶) by adding z1, z2, …, zn zeros of f(z) which are different than zero. Moreover, in a class of analytic functions on the unit disc, assuming the existence of angular limit on the boundary point, the estimations below of the modulus of angular derivative have been obtained. Finally, the sharpness of the inequalities obtained in the presented theorems are proved.
The concept of f-statistical convergence which is, in fact, a generalization of statistical convergence, has been introduced recently by Aizpuru et al. (Quaest. Math. 37: 525-530, 2014). The main object of this paper is to prove an f-statistical analog of the classical Korovkin type approximation theorem of Boyanov and Veselinov. It is shown that the f-statistical analog is intermediate between the classical theorem and its statistical analog. As an application, we estimate the rate of f-statistical convergence of the sequence of positive linear operators defined from $C^*[0,{\infty})$ into itself.
1D sand compression response to ko-loading experiences volume contraction from low to high effective stress regimes. Previous study suggested compressibility model with physically correct asymptotic void ratios at low and high stress levels and examined only for both remolded clays and natural clays. This study extends the validity of Enhanced Terzaghi model for different sand types complied from 1D compression data. The model involved with four parameters can adequately fit 1D sand compression data for a wide stress range. The low stress obtained from fitting parameters helps to identify the initial fabric conditions. In addition, strong correlation between compressibility and the void ratio at low stress facilitates determination of self-consistent fitting parameters. The computed tangent constrained modulus can capture monotonic stiffening effect induced by an increase in effective stress. The magnitude of tangent stiffness during large strain test should not be associated with small strain stiffness values. The use of a single continuous function to capture 1D stress-strain sand response to ko-loading can improve numerical efficiency and systematically quantify the yield stress instead of ad hoc methods.
The effect of distribution shape of porosity using a quasi-3D theory for free vibration analysis of FG microbeams is studied analytically in the present paper. The microbeams are simply-supported and nonhomogeneous, with power function variation of Young's modulus along their thickness. The modified coupled stress theory is utilized to consolidate size dependency of microbeam. Both even and uneven distribution shape of porosity are considered and the effective properties of porous FG microbeams are defined by theoretical formula with an additional term of porosity. The equation of motion is obtained through Hamilton's principle, however, Navier type solution method is used to obtain frequencies. The influences played by many parameters are also investigated.
The current article manages with new generalization of Post-Widder operators preserving constant function and other test functions in Bohmann-Korovkin sense and studies the approximation properties via different estimation tools like modulus of continuity and approximation in weighted spaces. The viability of the recently modified operators as per classical Post-Widder operators is introduced in specific faculties also. Numerical examples are additionally introduced to verify our theortical results. In second last section we introduce Grüss-Voronovskaya results and in last section, we show the better approximation our new modified operators via graphical exmaples using Mathematica.
The dynamic behavior of a single pile was investigated by using analytical and numerical studies. The focus of this study was to develop the dynamic p-y curve of a pile for pseudo-static analysis considering the shear wave velocity of the soil by using three-dimensional numerical analyses. Numerical analyses were conducted for a single pile in dry sand under changing conditions such as the shear wave velocity of the soil and the acceleration amplitudes. The proposed dynamic p-y curve is a shape of hyperbolic function that was developed to take into account the influence of the shear wave velocity of soil. The applicability of pseudo-static analysis using the proposed dynamic p-y curve shows good agreement with the general trends observed by dynamic analysis. Therefore, the proposed dynamic p-y curve represents practical improvements for the seismic design of piles.
Eringen's nonlocal thermoelasticity theory is used to study wave propagations in a rotating two-temperature thermoelastic half-space with temperature-dependent properties. Using suitable non-dimensional variables, the harmonic wave analysis is used to convert the partial differential equations to ordinary differential equations solving the problem. The modulus of elasticity is given as a linear function of the reference temperature. MATLAB software is used for numerical calculations. Comparisons are carried out with the results in the context of the dual-phase lag model for different values of rotation, a nonlocal parameter, an inclined load, and an empirical material constant. The distributions of physical fields showed that the nonlocal parameter, rotation, and inclined load have great effects. When a nonlocal thermoelastic media is swapped out for a thermoelastic one, this approach still holds true.
In this research, a semi-analytical solution is presented for computing mechanical displacements and thermal stresses in rotating thick cylindrical pressure vessels made of functionally graded material (FGM). The modulus of elasticity, linear thermal expansion coefficient, and density of the cylinder are assumed to change along the axial direction as a power-law function. It is also assumed that Poisson's ratio and thermal conductivity are constant. This cylinder was subjected to non-uniform internal pressure and thermal loading. Thermal loading varies in two directions. The governing equations are derived by the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Using the multilayer method, a functionally graded (FG) cylinder with variable thickness is divided into n homogenous disks, and n sets of differential equations are obtained. Applying the boundary conditions and continuity conditions between the layers, the solution of this set of equations is obtained. To the best of the researchers' knowledge, in the literature, there is no study carried out bi-directional thermoelastic analysis of clamped-clamped rotating FGM thick-walled cylindrical pressure vessels under variable pressure in the longitudinal direction.
