This research covers the ways in which typography, which has been expressed in a diverse range of fields and changed communication functions from the era of reading to the era of feeling according to the change in the times and social demands, has been represented in modem fashion, along with examining its inherent aesthetic characteristics. I reviewed the general information of typography's fundamental notions and functions through documented records, and analyzed the inherent aesthetic characteristics by examining the typographical patterns shown in modem fashion based on art works in domestic and international collections after 2000. The result of this research is that typography in modem fashion has been used for improving brand image, expressing social slogans, expressing images, linguistic function for playful expression and the interdependent relationships of modeling functions. Typography in modem fashion has always been diversely expressed harmoniously with linguistic and modeling functions. Through this, the aesthetic characteristics were firstly parodies through direct sentences addressing political and social ideologies, economic gaps, environmental issues and anti-war protests. Secondly, by using brand logos, typography was used as a commercial means like brand-image transfer and separation through customization of other brands. Thirdly, the aesthetic and artistic value of fashion were expressed after being used as experimental visual components like image, motive and patterns which are all elements of fashion design. Fourthly, by distortion and transformation of characters or childish decorations, along with the harmonization of words, cathartic humor was provided for the calloused senses of modern people.

There can be two definitions of modern ideal medical surroundings. One is medical services satisfied patients' with their desire and the other is places suited to remedy realized by rational operation. Particularly, in case of dental service, there is a need for an effective regard of moving lines and there are many rooms for a dental service belonged to a curer and not a curer. So a design has been developed by many concerns. How do we proffer more familiar and comfortable places to both a curer and not a curer. Nowadays, the design is making progress to the unprecedented and up-to-date direction. I would suggest a general plan used by a nature of an original art for this design. The design used by a nature between human beings and things is able to induce comforts and intimacies. So to speak, I would like to remove artificial design and keep up organic lines, shapes and forms of a nature like it is. This study grasps the organizational limitation of this design and the visual characteristic of organic forms used by harmonious image of a nature and a new way is applied to limited medical places, a dental service, based on the study. Also, I'm go to examine the meaning and worth of a new design and suggest the direction of it.
The goal of this research is contemplation on whether postmodern design concepts such as parody, simulation, appropriation, pastiche apply to the character design in games, within bounds of postmodernism. Since the beginning of the 90's, Fashion shows appear to be a type of performance form of art combining with other areas to visually entertain the viewers. This can be explained by the modern tendency to escape from society which requires formality and complicated lifestyles. Fashion shows take place in a scene Influenced by the idea of post-modernism which redefines the definition of space. A church, old factory, unoccupied ground, subway stations, or even place like a waste disposal are used as a setting. The stage set is no longer the T shape run way and the procinium arch has disappeared. The gap between audience and stage has diminished and theatrical element is added to the fashion performance by using viewers living and working environments as setting of the show. The human relation with machine based on the cutting edge technology such as the stage automation, robots and mist making sprinkler system introduces new elements with spontaneity and detailed planning in the stage performance. Music also plays an Important role in attracting viewers. The sound track covers house music to techno music. Instead of music being abstract, folks orchestral music, choirs, piano. even live concert performed by pop artist provide the liveliness of the fashion show. And the catwalk itself is a performance. Model needs to be well trained as the capable talent who can handle sensitive gestures, facial expressions, dancing and choreography. The improvisatorial interaction between audience and model lead to audience participation. Models now range from pop star, ordinary people, handicapped people, to elderly and so on. John Galliano introduced the theatrical factors for the fashion show and Alexander Mcqueen approached the fashion show as the visual art of communication. Hussein Chalayan utilized high technology skewing futurism as if in a magic show. Today the Fashion show tends to be a total performance which includes audience participation, impromptu, and that break the limitation that fashion shows previously had. This will lead the fashion industry in opening new horizon of its own.
The recent works of architecture and interior design take on too various aspects to be classified as a trend or tendency. Many subjects, seeking the superiority between form and function in space which was the issue of Modernism, got to face the works which transcend the limitation of architecture due to the development of a variety of media and technology these days. In result, we could see the works which are to be Included into the category of art rather than architecture. This study starts from the thought that the common aspects of these works are based on the strangeness to pursue uniqueness, peculiarities or novelty. 'The subject of this study, $'D\acute{e}paysement'$, creates a new relation, disconnected from customs, to an architecture which became familiar through defragment, fixation and abstraction by the habitual relation and makes it reborn as an architecture which gives us a fantasy and a pleasure, by converting into the shape and image which are different from its original shape when a stimulus is given to an architecture. This study starts from the artistic aspect which has a close correlation with the architecture. The subject, $'D\acute{e}paysement'$ could be historically considered in two aspects - $D\acute{e}paysement$ of Surrealism which developed in paintings and Defamiliarization of Russian Formalism in the area of literature. This study is carried in a category of $D\acute{e}paysement$, focusing on the visual aspect of the architecture. This study is composed as follows: In chapter 2, a theoretical research is performed according to the definition and meaning of the $D\acute{e}paysement$ expression techniques, its origination and evolution, and type classification by the features of expression techniques in the era of Surrealism when $D\acute{e}paysement$ developed most vigorously in the area of art. In chapter 3, the system which formalizes the expression method of the techniques is presented, focusing on the case analysis of the artistic works according to the types of $D\acute{e}paysement$. In chapter 4, the application of the expression techniques of $D\acute{e}paysement$ is discussed by conducting cases analysis of the modern interior design.
The purpose of this study is to grasp the aesthetic characteristics of the retro romantic fashion. As a result of study, three artistic characteristics of the retro romantic fashion were presented. First, retro romantic fashion has an exaggerated formativeness. Retro romantic fashion has overcome the confinement of the present to imitate the splendor and decorative style of the past which results in exaggeration. Exaggerated costume tends to be spaciously bigger and emphasizes one particular part which offers implicated significance for the space between the body and the costume. A new visual fashion is created through this space. Second, retro romantic fashion encompasses gorgeous decorativeness. From an artistic point of view, decorations are part of impulsively formulated art. Artistic effects of such decorations are uniformly confirmed in various artistic states. Therefore, through gorgeous decorations, retro romantic fashion rejects artificiality and lack of sensitivity for new effects of aesthetics through expression of stronger artistic and spiritual desires. Third, retro romantic fashion expresses pluralistic retro. The current society has left the formalities of the modernism for a pluralistic society where openness, diversity, and uniqueness are respected. Such components of the pluralistic society are repetitively used in fashion. Time reflective retro romantic fashion is being recreated by borrowing images rather than replaying the historical contents, with the style, silhouette, and specific items that swayed in the past, being combined with modern materials, techniques, and designs. Literature review were conducted for this study. Literature review on retro romanticism encompassed resources on aesthetics, literature and art, including national and international fashion related literatures.
This study examines research trends in the dissertations and journal articles on stage costume so as to provide basic information on directions for future studies. The data was collected from the theses of domestic journals of the Korean Studies Information (KSI) which were published until December, 2012 and retrieved by a keyword related to the "design of stage costume", "costume for performing art", and etc. Theses and articles for the analyses were a total of 200 published. Reviewing the theses by dividing the times into 8 Chronicles of 5 years in each term. The findings of the study are as follows: According to the chronological analysis, there has been a steady increase in the rates of the musical, ballet, dance, and circus costume and cutting edged technology such as LED has been utilized in the performing art, currently. The real production and making up of the costumes have been increasing as well by replacing of illustration and rendering of the costumes. In the recent costume of the performing arts show the tends of the visual effects and up-sizing, comprehensiveness and fusion. From the analysis of the background of the work, those were confirmed that the most common historical period was modern period, and places were France, England, and Egypt. In regard to research themes and methods, many of research papers utilized content analysis method, character analysis method as research methods. The most popular presentation of the costume designs was "rendering", "costumes schedule" and "illustration". However, development and explanation of the patterns was insufficient and constructions methods and real works(costumes) were usually omitted in the articles.
This study presents a comparative analysis of the calligrammic poetic dictions shown in the poems of the French poets Guillaume Apollinaire and Paul Eluard and in those of the Korean poet Lee Sang. They were adventurers in the avant-garde movement who used experimental techniques that led to futurism, expressionism, cubism, dadaism, and surrealism. They applied a typographic technique that combined pictorial arrangements of fonts, shapes of compositions and between lines, letters of the alphabet, mathematical symbols, and graphical elements, such as circles or lines, to make up a poem that also looked like a painting. Their works, valued as visual lyric poems, break up language and combine anti-poems. They rejected traditional poetic dictions or grammar, but developed a paratactic poem that freely uses letters and symbols. Their calligrammic poetic dictions arouse dynamic images like space extension. Lee Sang's calligrams seem like abstract paintings that apply geometric symbols like those used in technical drawings. As a result, crossing the boundaries between language and pictorial art by using experimental materials and techniques, their poems deconstruct the creative standards of rational and traditional poetic dictions, creating an adventurous, expressive technique. Their calligrammic, avant-garde poems introduced a new spirit of art into both French and Korean modern poetic literature.
As the quality of our life has improved, residential complexes have become more diverse now. Modern residential complexes function as a place for meeting and communication between families and neighbors, including parks, lakes, and promenades, and exhibiting sculptures in residential spaces has become an important component. This study was conducted for the purpose of researching the design development method for the sculptures displayed in the residential space in accordance with these changes and demands of the era. Through the process of visualizing the figurative arts with metal and stone used as materials, the artist's thoughts and messages were put in the sculpture and the arts were completed as the shape of the sculpture that viewers could sympathize with. This design and formative research shows the possibility that various visual elements for sympathy with the creator's thoughts can be formed in a place with the specificity of living space by using a figurative visualization method. Therefore, further researches on figurative art of sculptures are required.
