Multistage interconnection networks (MINs) have been recognized as an efficient interconnection network for high-performance computer systems and also have been recently identified to be effective for a switching fabric of new communication structures - gigabit ethernet switch, terabit router, and ATM (asynchronous transfer mode). While lots of models analyzing the performance of MINs have been proposed, they are either inaccurate or, even if accurate, very complex for the analysis. In this paper, we propose an extremely simple mode for evaluating the multibuffered MIN with small clock cycles based on the approximation approach. Comprehensive computer simulation shows that the proposed model is very accurate in terms of the throughput and mean delay. Furthermore, it significantly reduces the computing overhead due to its simplicity.

In this paper, we consider an implicit iterative process with errors for an in nite family of strict pseudocontractions. Strong convergence theorems are established in the framework of Banach spaces. The results presented in this paper improve and extend the recent ones announced by many others.

Recently, micromilling process has been progressed to meet the variety of the industry demands in micromolds and precision components. As a result, more and more commercialized micro tools and machines become available during last few years. This paper reviews the recent progress of micromilling technology in last five years. The results in process, machine tools, and micro tool fabrications are discussed.

The negative weight can be ofter seen in Hopfield neural network, which is difficult to implement negative conductance in circuits. Usually, the inverted output of amplifier is used to avoid negative resistors for expressing the negative weights in hardware implementation. However, there is some difference between using negative resistor and the inverted output of amplifier for representing the negative weight. This difference is discussed in this paper.

In the case of the monorail or maglev system, the whole guideway itself in the switching region has to be moved to allow the vehicles to change the track without stopping the run. In this paper we discuss what has to be considered in the design of the EMS type maglev guideway switches and report the development status quo of the maglev guideway switch of Korean maglev UTM-01.

Recently 'Earthquake Resistance Design Regulations for Subway structures' has been established. It is the first time in our country. In this paper the regulations is reviewed and expalined briefly. Contents for the Performance Based Design Critetia and the estimation method for the design earthquake reponse spectrum in underground structures are reviewed. Earthquake resistance design for the evaluation of liquifaction, boundary spring coefficients for structural analysis modelling and soil response displacements are investigated and described also. Earthquake resitance design details shall be explained.

Reliable fast working maglev switch is one of the key technologies needed for the maglev system to be commercialized. Switch for the maglev system is large, heavy, complicated, expensive compared with that of the traditional wheel-on-rail system. This paper reports the development of a segmented maglev switch for urban transit maglev system under construction for the 6.1 km long double track maglev commercialization line in Inchon international airport in 2012. Test results along with details of the segmented maglev switch components are reported.
