밸런칭운동이 여중생의 자세정렬과 족저압력 균형에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Balanching Exercise on Posture Alignment and Foot Plantar Pressure Balance in Female Middle School Students)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a 12-week Balanching Exercise on posture alignment, and foot plantar pressure balance in female middle students. Method: The subjects consisted of 26 female middle students, Among of 26 people exercise group is 13 persons (age: 14.69±0.48 yrs, height: 156.62±6.96 cm, weight: 50.72±9.94 kg) and control group is 13 persons (age: 14.85±0.38 yrs, height: 158.93±4.44 cm, weight: 54.25±6.60 kg) and they played Balanching Exercise for 12 weeks for 60 minutes a day, three times a week. Results: In this study, the changes of posture alignment of female middle students were analyzed. The results were as follows: head tilt, the shoulder tilt, the pelvis tilt in experimental group and there was statistically significant. Control group was head tilt, the shoulder tilt, the pelvis tilt but there was not statistically significant difference. The changes of foot pressure balance of female middle students were analyzed. The change of the foot pressure balance difference before and after the experimental group decreased by 29.3% from 6.69±3.86% to 4.73±3.57%, which was statistically significant. Control group was increased by 17.6% from 6.30±4.43% to 7.41±3.69% there was not statistically significant difference. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that Balanching Exercise has a positive effect on improving the posture alignment and has a positive effect on foot pressure balance Research should be continued.

충남 지역 중학생의 체질량 지수에 따른 체형 인식과 식습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Body Image and Dietary Habits by the Body Mass Index of Middle School Students in Chungnam)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic informations for educating juveniles on desirable body image recognition by examining their body image recognition and comparing and finding problems according to gender and body mass index (BMI) in middle school students. The average age of the subjects was 15, their average height was 162.5 cm, their average weight was 53.5 kg, and their average BMI was $20.1\;kg/m^2$. Male students wanted to gain weight and female students wanted to lose weight. As for body shape, female students thought that they were fat more often than male students. Also the more overweight the students were, the higher their concerns and experiences toward weight control. Among weight control methods, exercise scored highest in all BMI groups. Over 80% of the respondents answered that their weight control effort were not systematic such as via professional counseling. As for the frequency of eating breakfast and dinner in female students, the more a student was overweight, the lower their frequency of eating breakfast and dinner. Many respondents answered that a typical meal time was '10~20 minutes'. The average eating habit score for all subjects was 38.0. The eating habit scores of male students were significantly higher than those of female students, and there were no significant differences among BMI groups. Eating habit score of 'I have more than two meals with rice everyday' in female overweight group was significantly higher than those of other two groups. These results indicate that the female students' degree of preference for a slim body shape were higher than those of male students. In addition, weight control by students is not systematic through professional counseling; instead they attempt to control their weight by themselves such as a meal skip, which lead to potential danger that they may lose weight carelessly. Therefore, correct body image recognition is greatly needed, and families and schools should make ceaseless efforts to help students properly control their weight and have correct eating attitudes.

흡연청소년의 담배구매 관련 주요 특성에 관한 연구 (A study of major characteristics of buying cigarettes in adolescent smokers in Korea)

  • Purpose : To investigate major characteristics influencing on adolescent smoking in Korea. Method : The subjects were 431 students (298 male and 133 female) enrolled in the non smoking program at Seoul School Health Promotion Center from March 2006 to February 2007. The survey was done about motivation of smoking, the way of getting cigarettes and frequency, chi-square test, and t-test by SAS package 8.1 were used to analyze the data. Result : Total 431 subjects were composed of 49.2% middle school students, 50.8% high school students. The middle school students who smoke 1 to less than 10 cigarettes per day were 56.1% and 10 to less than 20 cigarettes per day 26.7%, while high school students were 46.8% and 44.1%. 73.1% of male, and 76.9% of female students selected the cigarettes depending on taste and fragrance. The places of buying cigarettes were supermarkets 67%, convenience stores 19.4%, small stores 11.8%. A high percentage of students answered they did not have to show ID when they bought cigarettes(“rarely checked the ID” 25.2% of male and 30.8% of female, ”did not checked at all” was 10.9% male and 9.6% female). The ratio of spending money on buying cigarettes was 38.8% and 35.6% in male and female middle school, and 37.9% and 27.2% in male and female high school. Conclusion : Findings of this study suggests the constituting of strong social regulations to protect youth from smoking.

수원지역 중학교 1학년생의 성별에 따른 식행동과 건강행동 비교 (The Gender Comparison of Dietary and Health Behavior of First Grade Middle School Students in Suwon Gyeonggi, Korea)

  • From the onset of puberty or during its progress, eating and health behaviors are important in establishing optimum growth and healthy fitness in middle school students. This study investigated the dietary and health behavior of first grade middle school students(male 260, female 255) selected from 3 middle schools in Suwon. Results were analyzed using the statistical program(SAS ver. 8.1). Usual dietary habits were scored by the Likert scale of 5 points and obtained the mean and standard deviation. Obtaining significant gender difference, chi-square and student t-test were also done. Daily breakfast intake was 70% of all students but some of them ate alone(27.3%). The amount of food intake was slightly less(34.8%) but sufficient food for dinner(53.2%). The purpose of each meal was solving hunger(57.4%). However, they want to change their current eating habits because of an unbalanced diet. Usual dietary habits were similar in gender, but 'apply nutrition knowledge' and 'consider food combination' were better in female students (p<0.01), 'regular meals' were higher in males(p<0.01). With respect to health behavior, the subjects went for daily walks for less than an hour(39.9%) and got 7-8 hours of sleep per day(33.8%). The amount of sleep was sufficient(22.6%) in males but in insufficient (33.8%) in female students(p<0.01). Weight control efforts for reducing(female 27.5% male 20.8%) and for increasing(male 10.6%) differed according to gender(p<0.01). As the result of the above analyses, the direction of nutrition education would be oriented to the nutrition knowledge and food combination applying to the diets of male students and regular meals for females. And also sleep dissatisfaction needs to be altered with taking care weight control trials.

위탁운영 중학교 급식에 있어 중학생들의 메뉴 기호도 조사 (The Menu Preference of Middle School Student in Contracted Management Middle School Foodservice)

  • This research aimed to find out menu preference for middle school students and was conducted in a form of questionnaire sampled form middle school students in 10 schools where the meal program under commission was operating in Seoul. The questionnaire was distributed from Dec. 1 to 20, 2000 and gathered menu preference of staple, soup or stew, side dishes and dessert by each meal, season, gender. Statistical data analysis was completea using the SAS package, such as average and standard deviation, frequency analysis and T-test. The results can be summarized as follows : Most of the schools provided rice for lunch, while the students preferred noodles, mandu and bread. Most of students preferd beef rib soup. Gimchi stew with clear soup was favored for breakfast and stews for lunch and dinner. Side dishes were more favored by female students, in which shows the differences between male and female students. Students preferred dessert the most with fruits(4.49). It is required that the quality of school meals should be improved through the service of various kinds of desserts.

중학생의 학교 우유 급식 실태 및 만족도 조사 (Survey of Middle School Students' Intake of Milk and Satisfaction with School Milk Program)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the consumption of milk, along with satisfaction for improvement of the school milk program in middle school. The subjects were 447 middle school students(265 male, 182 female) in the Gyeonggi area, whowere asked to fill out the questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by a SAS package. The results showed that 53.2% of the subjects were participating in the school milk program. Regarding the frequency of milk consumption, 77.7% of students reported daily milk consumption and 65.3% of students reported they drank milk when it was available. 56.8% of the students responded that they were satisfied with the school milk program. Male students not participating in the school milk program cited the reason as "eating at home", while non-participating female students cited the reason as "tasteless". When asked whether they accepted or rejected the school milk program, male students(97.7%) and female students(97.8%) answered "it should be executed". To improve the school milk program, most of the students(72.2%) stated that "it should be selected among flavored milk(strawberry, banana, chocolate, black bean, and husked rice milk) instead of white milk". Therefore, in order to increase the intake of milk, the students should develop the habit of drinking milk to gain the attention of parents. Also, schools should attempt to help through offering proper dietary education.

초.중등 여학생의 성 성숙과 자기개념이 외모관심도와 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Sexual Maturity and Self-Concept on Interest in Appearance and Appearance Management Behavior for Female Students in Elementary and Middle School)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초 중등 여학생의 외모관심도와 외모관리행동이 성 성숙, 자기개념과 어떠한 상관관계를 갖는지 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 서울지역의 초 중등 여학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외모관심도와 외모관리행동 모두 중학생이 초등학생보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생이 중학생보다 전체적으로 긍정적인 자기개념을 가지고 있었고 특히 가정자기가 유의하게 높았다. 셋째, Tanner Stage가 초등학생은 2,3단계로서 사춘기 초기 상태, 중학생은 3,4단계로서 성장 발육의 진행 상태에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 월경을 하는 학생의 비율이 초등학생은 33%에 불과한 반면, 중학생은 90%로 대부분이 월경을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 성 성숙에 대한 주관적인 느낌 역시 차이를 보여, 초등학생은 자신의 성 성숙 속도가 또래보다 빠르다고 느낄 때, 중학생은 느리다고 느낄 때 부정적인 느낌을 가졌다. 넷째, 초 중등 여학생의 외모관심도에 자기개념과 성 성숙이 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 초등학생은 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록 외모에 대한 관심이 높았다. 중학생은 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록, 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 성숙에 대한 느낌이 부정적일수록, 신체적 자기개념이 높을수록 외모에 대한 관심이 높았다. 또한 초 중등 여학생의 외모관리행동에 외모관심도와 자기개념 및 성 성숙이 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 초등학생은 외모관심이 높을수록 외모관리행동에 적극적이었다. 중학생의 외모관리행동은 외모에 대한 관심이 높을수록, 가정적 자기개념이 낮을수록, 사회적 자기개념이 높을수록 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다.

12주간 줄넘기, 밴드운동이 비만 여중생의 GH, IGF-1 및 대사증후군 위험 인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of 12 Weeks Rope Skipping and Band Exercise on GH, IGF-1 and Metabolic Syndrome Risk Factors in Female Obese Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rope skipping and band exercise on GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students. Twenty female obese middle school students(%BF > 30%) were randomly assigned to a exercise group(EX, n=10) or control group(CON, n=10). The exercise group has performed rope skipping and band exercise for 12 weeks, 3time per week. Exercise intensity was increased gradually, from 40% to 70% of Heart Rate Reserve(HRR) and Rating of Perceived Exertion(RPE) 11-15. GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome rist factors were GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors were measured pre- and post-exercise program including rope skipping and band exercise. Levels of GH and IGF-1 were significantly increased (p<.01 and p<0.001, respectively) in exercise group after 12 weeks of exercise training. WC and TG were significantly decreased(p<.01) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. HDL-C was significantly increased(p<.05) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. In conclusion, rope skipping and band exercise were effective exercise program in improving GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students.

서울지역 중학생의 BMI에 따른 영양소 섭취실태와 체력에 관한 연구 (Nutrient Intakes and Physical Fitness by BMI among Middle School Students in Seoul)

  • Proper nutrient intakes and physical fitness focus one's attention on health promotion. This study was conducted to investigate nutrient intakes and physical fitness by BMI in middle school students. Health-related questionnaire, dietary intakes, food frequency questionnaire and physical fitness were studied. There were no significant differences in health-related questionnaire, food frequency questionnaire and physical fitness by BMI, but several nutrition intakes, preference of salty tastes and the proportion of iron deficiency of female students were significantly different by BMI. Although the female obese group (BMI 85 - 100 percentile) had decreased the proportion of iron deficiency and increased fish intake frequency than other groups, obese females did not show better physical fitmess than other groups. And the average Ca intake was below $75\%$ of Korean RDA in both male and female students. Significantly positive correlation was found between calorie intake and push-up of normal (BMI 15 - 84 percentile) male students (r = 0.29), also significantly negative correlation was found between protein intake and 50m dash of normal female students (r = 0.22). And significantly positive correlation was found between beans and bent knee sit-up of normal male students (r = 0.25), and significantly positive correlations were found between beans, meat, eggs, green & yellow vegetable and sit and reach (r = 0.20, r = 0.28, r = 0.21, r = 0.19) and significantly negative correlation was found between beans and long distance race of normal female students. Therefore, this study suggests that proper nutrition and non-obese states should be achieved for health promotion in middle school students.

서울시 중.고등학생들의 학교아침급식 참여 의사에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Intention to Participate in School Breakfast Programs of Middle and High School Students in Seoul)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine factors affecting intention to participate in school breakfast programs of middle and high school students in Seoul using the Theory of Planned Behavior. Out of 2,280 questionnaires distributed to the middle and high school students, 2,060 were returned (90.4% response rate) and 1,799 were analyzed (78.9% analysis rate). To determine factors affecting intention to participate in school breakfast programs, logistic regression analyses were conducted for middle and high school students, respectively. For logistic regression, data of 1,217 out of 1,799 students (637 middle and 580 high school students) were used after excluding 582 students which had an answer 'Not sure' to the question about intention to participate in school breakfast programs. In case of middle school students, male than female students (OR = 1.504), the students who skipped all breakfast (OR = 1.851), who ate breakfast $1{\sim}2$ times (OR = 3.474) or $3{\sim}4$ times (OR = 1.950) than those who ate breakfast everyday during weekdays of the previous week were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. In case of high school students, male than female (OR = 1.967), the students who skipped all breakfast (OR = 4.187), the students who ate breakfast $1{\sim}2$ times (OR = 3.024) or $3{\sim}4$ times (OR = 2.095) than those who ate breakfast everyday during weekdays of the previous week were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. In addition, both possibility of middle and high school students' participation in school breakfast programs increased as the satisfaction with school lunch service (OR = 1.704, 1.653) increased. Middle school students who perceived their household income level 'low or middle low' (OR = 1.999) than those who perceived their household income level 'middle' and the students who had more positive 'attitude' (OR = 1.311) toward eating breakfast were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. However, high school students who had higher 'perceived difficulty in access to breakfast' (OR = 1.370) were more likely to participate in school breakfast programs. The results of this study could be useful data to plan and develop school breakfast programs in Korea.
