  • A method to control the speed of D. C. motor with microprocessor is discussed in this paper, The system consisting of TTL and microprocessor measures the actual speed and compares it with a reference set speed and the error is used to control the speed of the D. C. motor. The steads - state error is less than 0.5% of maximum speed and this can be reduced with more exact measure of actual speed.

  • A digital controller for a discrete-data control system can take many forms. For example, they can be passive RC networks, general purpose digital computers, special purpose of mini-computer, and delay lines. With the recent advent of the microprocessor, its use as a digital controller is evident. This work discusses the hardware and software development of a microprocessor-based digital controller for a discrete-data control system. A second-order, Type 1 system is implemented on an analog computer; a Intel 80-286 microprocessor is used to implemented the controller; and, output response are obtained for step, ramp, and parabolic inputs. The results demonstrate that the microprocessor has potential as a digital controller. Finally, a brief discussion on the results indicate possible areas of improvement of the controller and future investigation.

  • Recently, being due to development of a small microprocessor, microprocessor have found increasing application as a digital controller in the control system. In this paper, authors analyze theoretically the continuous PID controller of a position control system with servomotor, and program the microprocessor as digital PID controller by an assembly language, and search the optimal parameters of the digital PID controller which make the smallest integral square error criterion for a performance criterion, and take experiment the indicial responses with optimal parameter. The results are following. 1) PD- behavior controller was better than P-behavior controller. 2) The smaller the smapling times of P-behavior controller and PD-behavior controller were, the better the indicial responses of the discrete system were. 3) Using a small microprocessor could replace the traditional continuous PID controller for good control.

  • Programmable logic controller (PLC) is widely used in manufacturing system or process control. This paper presents the design of a 32-bit microprocessor for a sequence control using an Application Specification Integrated Circuit (ASIC). The 32-bit microprocessor was designed by a VHDL with top down method; the program memory was separated from the data memory for high speed execution of 274 specified sequence instructions. Therefore it was possible that sequence instructions could be operated at the same time during the instruction fetch cycle. And in order to reduce the instruction decoding time and the interface time of the data memory interface, an instruction code size was implemented by 32-bits. And the real time debugging as single step run, break point run was implemented. Pulse instruction, step controller, master controllers, BIN and BCD type arithmetic instructions, barrel shit instructions were implemented for many used in PLC system. The designed microprocessor was synthesized by the S1L50000 series which contains 70,000 gates with 0.65um technology of SEIKO EPSON. Finally, the benchmark was performed to show that designed 32-bit microprocessor has better performance than Q4A PLC of Mitsubishi Corporation.

  • The three-phase full(6-pulse) bridge controlled rectifier is one of the most widely used types of solid-state converters in DC drive applications for higher performance. In most of the previous designs, the gate control circuits of the converter have been designed with analog method which can be easily affected by noise. Nowdays with advances of microelectronics and power electronics, microprocessor and pheripal LSIs are increasingly used for eliminating this problems. In this paper, a novel general-purpose microprocessor -based firing system and control scheme for a three-phase controlled rectifier bridge has been developed and tested. Using the phase relations between ${\Delta}$-Y transformer in power operation part, gate pulse of the converter is generated with real time process so that microprocessor may share its time to control algorithms efficiently. The firing angle of the converter is smoothly controlled in the range of 0 $^{\dirc}$ to 180$^{\dirc}$ with a fast respone and a constant open loop gain, even for the case where the converter is fed by a weak AC system of unregulated frequency. The hardware and software control circuit implementation built around a 80286 microprocessor is discussed, and the experimental results are given. This scheme uses less hardware components and has higher dynamic performance in variable speed DC drive applications.

  • This paper addresses the CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor. CAN built in DSP2812 microprocessor is used to control and monitor the multi-motor system with the inverter driving system CAN network implementation schemes and the algorithm for multi-motor control and monitoring is also developed. We configure the multi-motor control experimental system to verify the proposed algerian and the reliability of CAN networks system in the various operation of two induction motors. The experimental results show that CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor can carry out the real-time network based control in various speed range and the position control of induction motors.
